2006 March Madness simulation[edit]

  • What is the purpose of the 2006 March Madness simulation page? It seems to me that it belongs in the user space, not the artice space, as it is just the results of a computer simulation of the actual event. --DMG413 13:13, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Define user space, please. --JWJD126 14 May 2006
    • Basically, User:Username/pagetitle. Anyone is free to create subpages to their userpage to use as a personal sandbox, so long as it's not particularly egregious (ie, libellous material, etc.). Stuff in articles is supposed to be encyclopedic material only. --DMG413 18:09, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • OK, thanks, can you tell me how to do that? It makes sense to do that.
      • There's a couple of options. Probably the easiest is to copy and paste the code into a blank page starting with User:JWJD126/NAME, with NAME being whatever you want to title the page (you can either create a link to the page you want in a draft or from your user page or by adding it to the URL in the right spot) and then tagging the old page in the article space with {{db-test}}, which will add a template telling one of the admins to delete the page. By the way, it may generally get a quicker response to any messages left on your talk page by responding on the messager's talk page, since they may not otherwise see your response. --DMG413 20:37, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved them to your user space for you:

--PS2pcGAMER (talk) 07:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have done the same for User:JWJD126/2004 March Madness simulation. Cheers --Pak21 15:57, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you or were you also 68.199.72.173?[edit]

I am making this guess not only because of edit histories that focus a lot on sports and the Bronx, but also because this edit is very similar to a whole series of unexplained removals of the geolinks template from all the articles on Metro-North stations made by that address. I had placed it there per standard practice regarding most geographical locations, including train stations.

If you are, could you please try to explain what you were doing? None of those edits had an edit summmary; it could be considered vandalism. Daniel Case 02:05, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe so...I had done that because not too many of the other stations had the GeoPages links...I'm sorry for removing them. JWJD126 25 March 2007

Disambiguation link notification for January 2[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2013 WTA Tour, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Johanna Larsson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:09, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tennis[edit]

Hey, could you please stop adding scores from matches that aren't completed to the main article? Kante4 (talk) 16:05, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

problems with edits[edit]

Hi, i see that you have recently edits some pages with the same errors (f.e. 2013 Citi Open – Women's Singles at the qualifying round). Could you correct it and use the normal scheme?

Qualifying Competition Final

  India Saketh Myneni 62 6 6
9 United States Donald Young 77 3 4

(this is a normal scheme)

Qualifying Competition Final

  India Saketh Myneni 62 6 6
9 United States Donald Young 77 3 4

(this is what you made it) It's even better when each match has a uniform way of showing the results. Hope you understand.

Opting in to VisualEditor[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:24, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
