Vandalism[edit]

Q from me:Apparently your user page has been vandalised 42 times. That is a very large number! Is it the wikipedia record? J.J.Sagnella 20:08, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

Hello![edit]

Q. From ViolinGirl:Hi, I was browsing around (don't ask me how I got here...you know, with Wikipedia, you get to pages, and then wonder how you got there!), and saw that you speak Italian fluently. That's cool! Have you ever gone to Italy? Sometime soon (6+/- years, after college), I want to go to live in Italy. I'm trying to learn some Italian now, but I think I would do better with a tutor, so I could hear it...--ViolinGirl 20:34, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A from me: Yes, i've been to Italy about 4 times with my parents, we even considered buying a house in the appenines! (More precisely,In Tuscany). I learnt Italian from my father from a very young age as my Father was born in Italy before living in England so he taught me. I also am priviliged to go to a secondary school which teaches Italian so I don't forget any! J.J.Sagnella 20:40, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Articles needing deletion[edit]

Q. from Ricky 81682:Hey J.J., I saw your notes about articles that should be deleted at Talk:Fire Cape and Talk:Delrith. Next time, you should be bold and just list them for deletion. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 07:40, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A. from me: Sorry about that, if i see any other silly/useless articles i will follow wikipedia's standards for deletion. J.J.Sagnella 08:25, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The EU-sceptic userbox on your main page...[edit]

The great grape ape is straight out of the know[edit]

Message from Cool Cat:While I commend you for your patience in dealing with this newbie, I would like to make a friendly advice: Please use threats less. People are either willing to listen or just want to cause problems. Threatening will encourage ones who want to cause problems and discourage people willing to listen. This is a WP:BITE advice. You are welcome to ignore this post completely, however i would advise you to take this advice as it would make you happier in my humble opinion. --Cool CatTalk|@ 00:24, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Resposnse from me: I don't feel what I did was that harsh or threating towards the person. I simply made the point clearly stating what would happen and if the person or other people found it harsh, I am sorry. J.J.Sagnella 16:47, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to article on Colchester Royal Grammar School[edit]

Statement Concerning here from an ip:I too am in the sixth form at CRGS, and can verify that there really is no broad consensus on uniform (or in fact, that people really care about the whole issue that much). The comment that was added, I think, expresses the view of a small group of people, and is certainly not a fact. 81.178.103.147 14:43, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply from me: I actually thought it could of been spam. But because I'm 3 years younger than sixth-form age I didn't know what the opinion was, and would of looked too stupid to ask a sixth-former. J.J.Sagnella 18:35, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Runescape - reply for talk page[edit]

Retreived from [4]

I really don't know what to tell you here. My work with Wikipedia largely concerns vandalism. If the user is simply reverting to their preferred version and does it more than three times in a 24 hr period then the user may be violating 3RR. There are users who deal with these kinds of things. You might want to check out Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. Someone who is more knowledgeable than me can handle the matter more efficiently than I. Sorry I'm not much help but I you need anything else just let me know. -- Psy guy Talk 23:31, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    • I saw your message at the Village Pump. You might drop a message at the spam Wikiproject. They work on articles that are excessively linked, and might have some guidelines about which links should be dropped and which should be kept. Joyous | Talk 16:05, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think that page is a valid speedy deletion. Feel free to nominate it for AfD, though. JesseW, the juggling janitor 13:14, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Well if it's so important, why has it got minimal google hits and somebody else tried to delete it as well? J.J.Sagnella 17:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Regarding my reverts here

  • I was going to do subst test 2 on that troublesome IP, but thanks for putting the warning on there. Apparently I like to *censored*, I did not know that before. Croat Canuck 16:31, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RuneScape vandalism[edit]

G'day JJ,

I notice that one of the edits you made while I was gone was to remove excess external links with the edit summary, "General decision has been made on links. All 5 links except main 5 will be deleted. Any attempt to put them back on will be treated as vandalism." While I agree with you on a policy concerning external links on RuneScape, Mike or Dtm insisting on increasing the number of fansites would be a content dispute, and should never be mistaken for vandalism. A lot of users involved in content disputes mislabel their opponents as "vandals" as the dispute escalates into an edit war, then get a rude shock when they discover that they're in trouble, too. RuneScape suffers from enough actual vandalism as it is without people looking for more! Happy editing, fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 23:22, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • You kind of missed the point. When I meant vansalism, i meant like instantly reverted, like vandalism. Sorry if it didn't sound correct. J.J.Sagnella 16:38, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Fair enough. I've seen quite a few edit wars over the past two months, and one thing that almost always happens — and it never gets any less annoying when it does — is that both sides will accuse the other of being vandals. So, naturally ... yeah. fuddlemark (fuddle me!) 04:35, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Patronise Me[edit]

Regarding here When I gave her a warning for adding external links even when it was agreed not to add them.

Do not patronise me.Mike 20:07, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Trust me i'm not, i'm giving you a formla warning. The decision was made for NO on other external links, you may have other ideas, but it was voted, and decided on no. J.J.Sagnella 21:02, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Stuart David Bennett[edit]

Howdy, I noticed your speedy note on the article Anthony Stuart David Bennett. I think the author was trying to create a disambiguation page/reduce confusion about Anthony Bennett (a politician). I think the article refers to a footballer. Do you think it should still be speedied? --Hansnesse 18:25, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly don't know. J.J.Sagnella 20:28, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Neocolours?[edit]

I noticed that you added Neocolours as a speedy deletion candidate. I'm no expert on Wikipedia rules, but I didn't think it merited that - it's existed for months and is a reasonably good article. I've therefore removed the notice. If you still think it should be deleted maybe you should submit it for normal deletion? Oogabooga 00:33, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you've got it wrong. It is about the subject matter not the articke itself which means if it deserves to stay. I'll take your suggestion of AFD though. Also I listed it for speedy as it got deleted before.J.J.Sagnella 07:42, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Neocolours doesn't exist anymore anyway. -- PinkDeoxys 18:57, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded to your concern about the file-name for the pre-1801 Union flag. It it at Image_talk:Union_flag_1606_(Kings_Colors).svg. - Thanks, Hoshie | North Carolina flag 04:18, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial Links[edit]

I'm just vaguely curious, what links were you talking about? If it's about the RuneScape thing, please tell me the criteria as to why some sites can be listed while others (which may be larger than the current ones as well as a better source of information) are not? Thanks. Onejsin

  • Your edit [5] is what I am talking about. It clearly was discussed on Archive 3 of the RuneScape talk page, so have a look if you wish. It also says above the links not to add any others, which you deliberately ignored. If you feel there should be a chnage, make a new chapter in the RuneScape Talk Page. J.J.Sagnella 08:39, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:WikimediaForPortals[edit]

Can you please explain your recent edit to Template:WikimediaForPortals. Why did you delete all the links except the one to Wikibooks. Also, I'm not sure it belongs in Category:RuneScape since it is used in many portals. Actually, it probably shouldn't be in any categories except possibly self-referential administrative categories. Thanks. --TantalumTelluride 00:05, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK. I think I see what's going on. You probably thought you were editing the Wikimedia template for the RuneScape Portal. You should create a subpage such as Portal:RuneScape/Wikimedia and then transclude it at Portal:RuneScape. --TantalumTelluride 00:16, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think I've fixed everything. Please check to make sure the templates and the portal are OK. Thanks. --TantalumTelluride 00:22, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay Thanks for being so understanding. I tried to delete the other 4 as those 4 had no content. J.J.Sagnella 08:39, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Byzar page[edit]

There is much information desired on the New York Illbient scene that took place in the late 90's. This was a very imortant art/sound movement. The band Byzar that you have been putting for deletion played a very important and disctinct part in this movement being the ultimate Illbient band that included such notables as DJ Spooky and Marc Ribot.

Byzar has toured the world and played in shows and festivals with Bjork, Chemical Bros., The Prodigy, Kraftwerk and many other electronic musicians and bands.

They were featured on the cover of "The Wire" magazine, which is the source of electronic and alternative music. There are also numerous articles written in the New York Times, Village Voice, etc. etc... look at the links.

They were signed to Asphodel records, one of the most important labels for Trip Hop and turntablism that includes some of the top names in the field.

I will be adding more information on this page and others concerning important New York music movements. Knyc24k

  • And why are you telling me this? All I did was revert your deletion of a deletion tag, which you shouldn't of done, as the current situation has not been resolved. J.J.Sagnella 19:17, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You Sir[edit]

Okay, my mistake, very sorry about that. I'll see if I can do some work on it to try and make up for the fact I redirected it. J.J.Sagnella 11:30, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are a good man JJ. It takes a real stand up sort of fellow to say that.

I personally thank you for your help on this, and consider you a true asset to this community. I can only hope that one day I am as fluent on this system as you!!

Apparently Not...[edit]

But you can teach me if you want...mum. Another thing I don't get...is why you consistently change my talk page. Like i said, apparently some users have nothing better to do. Batman2005 04:08, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So you think I should let you delete warnings from your page? So you think I should let personal attacks for me stay there? I seriously think reading Wikipedia's rules and calming down would be very benificial to you.J.J.Sagnella 07:24, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think minding your own business would be very beneficial to you. There was no personal attack to you on my page, thus why several people came to my defence and the administrator unblocked me 15 minutes after he blocked me. Like I said, you should spend your time somewhere else, rather than worrying about what i'm doing, you're starting to prove my first point of editing here...that some users appear to have no life. Batman2005 18:52, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If it wasn't a personal attack why were you banned in the first place? And I do have a life and friends outside of Wikipedia in School and I'm not worrying about your page, I was simply restoring your talk page as you are not allowed to remove warnings from your talk page. Quite simply being more civil could be more beneficial to you than anything I could do.J.J.Sagnella 19:35, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Because the administrator who happened to look at it was as sensitive as you are. Then when voices of reason spoke...he realised that you were just whining and complaining about having your feelings hurt. You are however, worrying about my page, as you've made several edits over a period of time, which shows that you've taken an interest in it. I don't know how you can deny that you're worried about it. Quite simply, minding your own business and stopping with the motherly act would be more beneficial to you than my continued shooting down of your points. Batman2005 19:42, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And do you understand why I edited your page? If you read the rules of Wikipedia you'll know that
  • You're not allowed to delete warnings from your page. I made an archive for you if that is what you wanted to do
  • You are not allowed personal attacks.

And one final note, if it was anyone else, they would do say the same J.J.Sagnella 22:46, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, J.J. If you'd learn to read, you'd see that the administrator who blocked me because of your overly sensitive crying, UNBLOCKED me because there was NO PERSONAL ATTACK. Get a life and stop trying to lecture me on the rules of wikipedia, it makes you sound ridiculous. Batman2005 04:06, 7 March 2006 (UTC) By the way...it's "they," "the," and "same." Spend more time with spelling and less time on my talk page. Batman2005 04:07, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And do you know how silly and aggressive you sound? If you could be civil would really help more than me to do anything. J.J.Sagnella 07:31, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Aww, am I scaring you? Poor Boy. Batman2005 17:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't feel you have anything productive to say, do you? I will end the discussion here, not feeding the trolls J.J.Sagnella 18:10, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You've NEVER had anything productive to say, if anyone is a troll here it is you my friend. Your consistent altering of a page to fit your view point and what you want it to say is trolling at its best. Perhaps a look in the mirror would be in order, troll. Batman2005 21:05, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To sum up and reiterate the only reason I changed your talk page is for it to conform to Wikipedia's rules of being civil and as the administrator told you, not removing warnings from your page. J.J.Sagnella 22:02, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh, you lookin for somebody to make you a saint? Pat yourself on the back and go about your life little one. Batman2005 04:07, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Harsh[edit]

  1. I wasnt being too picky, I was just annoyed that the page's history gets clogged up by little edits. The person then reccommended people to do the same - which isnt how things should be done, as you cant track the page's edits
  2. I think Wikipedia has enough space to handle another page. The Karamja section had enough information to be worthy of its own article. Its not like I created an article out of a section with 5 lines - • The Giant Puffin • 17:00, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
Let's put it this way, they made good edits right? You didn't praise them once. It was just criticise, criticise, criticise. And that sounds very hypocritical. On one hand, you can't stand lots of little edits which clog Wikipedia, but on the other hand you want to make articles which Clog Wikipedia even more? J.J.Sagnella 17:03, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article I made (which was constructive because of the amount of info available) is one in over a million. Each edit is one in a few thousand. I just thought that making several minor edits was less constructive than one larger one, as the small edits made wouldnt really have made a very big edit if combined. Plus I dont see anyone praising anybody's edits on the RS series or Portal. - • The Giant Puffin • 18:38, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
If people were to do things like criticise they would always thank the user first, if it is just complaints it makes the user want to leave Wikipedia. I suugest being a lot more friendly could help. J.J.Sagnella 19:05, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of the anonomous user, he/she was using terrible English, and I just thought they should use common sense - if you edit an article with something that doesnt fit in, or is in rubbish english, it will have to be cleaned up. I am friendly when need be, I just think people should think when editing - its obvious language like ". and 3 sorts of range armour. studded armour, green d-hide armour and blue d-hide armour. and there is mage armour also, players often refer to it as wizzy (T) or (G)" will get reverted. Its just basics like capital leters and proper grammer - • The Giant Puffin • 19:43, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
And what about the other user? and when you say "proper grammer" it is very funny as grammar is spelt with 2 a's. J.J.Sagnella 19:47, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I referred to the other user in my second comment: "I just thought..." - • The Giant Puffin • 20:39, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
I still feel that with the user (not the i.p.) You were being very harsh with. He made good edits and you were being very mean. It's things like that which detract people away from Wikipedia. Also, in the RuneScape Article, if it is a long section, it is a better idea to shorten it rather than just send to another article. J.J.Sagnella 20:42, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. I was a bit mean. I was planning to get on with other stuff today, other than waiting for replys to an argument that counts for next to nothing - • The Giant Puffin • 21:56, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
If I were you I would go over to the user you criticised, and apologise for biting the newcomer. J.J.Sagnella 22:06, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning requested RuneScape animations.[edit]

Sorry for taking a while to get those animations that you have requested. I have been pretty busy lately, so it'll take a while for me to place my complete focus onto it.

I'll be heading to my vacation, so I won't be able to do any recording until I return.

In the mean time, I would appreciate it if you add my RuneScape name "ChikoritaPro." When I return, I'll be glad to whack you with the Rubber Chicken for one of the animations, assuming you have the basic necessary general-looking equipment (Rune Large Helmet, Rune Platemail Body, and Rune Platelegs shall do). If you wish to customize, then that is fine too, if you feel it correct for an encyclopedia. Thanks.

Tarikochi 07:33, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sure. Just post me here when you're back from vacation. I was thinking of wearing rogue with a purple partyhat and a dragonfire shield to replace the old dragonfire shield picture. Tell me if you think this is okay as if not I only need to rune platebody to complete your checklist.J.J.Sagnella 17:05, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm back from vacation and have your Marionette animation made. All I have left is the "Whack" animation of the Rubber Chicken, but somebody else apparently beaten me to it. I'll still be glad to make the "Whack" animation for you, but I will not upload it myself, as I do not feel necessary for it to be uploaded. You can upload it if you want once I get the clip to you.

I actually made more animations then you requested, heh. This is all that I have so far:

Image:Runescape holidayitems yoyo play.gif
Image:Runescape holidayitems rubberchicken dance.gif
Image:Runescape holidayitems zombiehead talkat.gif
Image:Runescape holidayitems marionette jump.gif
Image:Runescape holidayitems toyhorsey play.gif
Image:Runescape holidayitems spinningplate spin.gif

You may use any of these animations in any way you wish. I may add them into the articles myself once I get the time.

Hope all that helps. I'll get the "Whack" animation if you still want to go through with it.

Tarikochi 04:04, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I had an idea on that one. If I was to wear an anti-dragon fire shield and a purple partyhat we could have an image for the article rare items and replace the old dragon-fire shield. Also If you wear your usual clothes with green feather hat, it will mkae it clearer for a reader to know which person is the player. Also it will be better than the current picture as the person being whacked didn't actually want to be whacked.J.J.Sagnella 07:22, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, he did. That's my friend in the picture. I made that recording because the still one wasn't good. My friend just didn't want to be named. --Cool Spy0 00:55, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ahwell[edit]

concerning here

sorry to burst your bubble, but the only point of life is to have fun, if you don't youve wasted it

  • Take the comment in context. You're here on Wikipedia to have fun, but when in context of making spam articles, even though you may regard it as "fun", it causes work for adminstrators. Wikipedia does not encourage people to make spam articles but if you were to make constructive edits to articles I'm sue you'll have fun everyone on Wikipedia can enjoy. Fine then be content to mellow on my somewhat unprovoked snapback at you months after the initial incident, that was from all angles my fault yet i remain cynical and scathing to you, whereas in reality i dont actually care.
