I am replying here as I don't want to lengthen the AfD discussion and make it hard to follow for others. I am afraid, I must say I am not convinced by your reply. Restoring a damaged photograph does not give you the copyright of it even if it is 60 years old. According to the Copyright law of Sri Lanka, copyright duration is the lifetime of the author plus 70 years. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume the copyright would expire in 2074, 50 years from now. Since you say you are not connected to Jayasinghe, it is unclear to me how you got hold of this photograph exactly. It seems like a family photo. In any case, you don't seem to hold the copyright to the photograph. If you speak to an admin in commons they'd clarify the situation. It is also unclear to me how you linked Dagmar Grace Dias Bandaranaike to the subject. The only source that mentions that name is that genealogical website. I don't know how you learned about her. It is hard for me to believe that the Lyrists Association booklet or the man you met or an offline newspaper article provided you with such intimate information about the subject.
