Welcome and introduction

[edit]

Hi, IEauthor. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person by golly! And this real person (that would be me), wants to say welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've made an account! Thanks for joining; you're on your way to making some great contributions.

Because I've noticed you've just joined, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. Any questions are fine, nothing is too silly (we've heard them all). Now, the tips below - hop on them - they should help you begin editing. Best of luck! Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet!
  • Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us.
  • When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. (You'll want to sign your name with these four tildes ~~~~ when you leave something on a talk page to help know who you are!)

Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

P.S. If you just feel like poking around, Wikipedia:Help is a good place to start. :)

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/HCIE.author for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. ArcAngel (talk) 15:21, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:IEauthor/test, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I have removed the speedy delete comment on your draft article. However, you do need to clarify some things. 1. What is the relationship between yourself and the other author (see WP:MEAT and WP:SOCK)? 2. Your username is promotional and should probably be changed (see WP:ORGNAME) 3. Do you have a relation to the article topic (see WP:COI)? Rhomb (talk) 18:09, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
