Citing sources[edit]

Please don't use simple inline weblinks as you did in your recent virology articles. There is a code template called {{cite journal}} which accepts multiple parameters like author names, article titles, journals, issues etc. When citing such journals, please do so with all names of authors and the publication. To apply an inline reference, use a string like

<ref>{{cite journal |url=.... |author=Foo |coauthors=... |journal=Random Journal}}</ref>

behind a fact and at the bottom of your article create a section "References" where you place {{Reflist}}. That will create an automatic list of all your inline references.

On another note please remember that the general Wikipedia reader is most likely not familiar with technical and scientific terms so you should try to avoid too many such topical words and keep your articles a bit simpler. Happy editing, De728631 (talk) 20:46, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: For PubMed and other databases there's also an online tool that converts abstract IDs into a full Wikipedia citation syntax: see this link. De728631 (talk) 21:21, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
