Might you be confusing setting up a base with making a formal territorial claim? For example, the US set up its first base in Antarctica in 1956, and there's a US flag at the South Pole, but the US has no territorial claims on the continent. Largoplazo (talk) 11:20, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Territorial claims in Antarctica[edit]

You must add citations to any factual change you make on Wikipedia. If you don't it is just your opinion and can be removed. What you have written about Argentina's claim to sovereignty is wrong and is the sort of nonsense often used by the Argentine government and Argentine people who are taught it in school. Establishing sovereignty over land is a lot more detailed than just raising a flag. I suggest you read more articles about it on Wikipedia and ask questions if you don't understand.
