That's total BS. As the owner of what you are calling the Hoquiam's Castle, I can tell you that your page is incorrect. All the signs have been removed and the property you are describing does not exist anymore. My changes were an attempt to correct your misinformation, but you changed it back, so the page is completely flawed. I will keep fighting you over this. What's the point if you use articles that are fake or incorrect? This page is trash and you guys are refusing to fix it. As the owner of the property you have spreading misinformation about, I am requesting that you take this page down, Harkowl (talk) 15:27, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

They billed me as a bed and breakfast without my knowledge. The bed and breakfast closed in 2013 and I had nothing to do with it. I purchased the castle in 2020, but they negligently billed me and told me it was correct until I finally figured it out in 2024. Despite the clear fact that the billing was wrong, they have refused to make any adjustments. I am going to file a civil complaint next month and request a bench trial. After that, I am going to address the city council and request that the castle be formally removed from the historic registry. I need to apologize to you guys for taking my anger out on you...I am sorry. I was really angry after talking to the finance director. This misrepresentation of my billing cost me more than 4K and the city officials are so smug about it. I will try and update the page after the case is over. I am going to invite the local press to the trial, so unless there is a settlement, it will definitely have some articles, case law, and city council notes to look at. Oh also, removing it from NRHP isn't so simple as just asking the city. It was registered in 1973, so the only criteria for removal is:

"The property has ceased to meet the criteria for listing in the National Register because the qualities which caused it to be originally listed have been lost or destroyed, or such qualities were lost subsequent to nomination and prior to listing.[1]

That link also provides the procedure:

"Any person or organization may petition in writing for removal of a property from the National Register by setting forth the reasons the property should be removed on the grounds established in paragraph (a) of this section. With respect to nominations determined eligible for the National Register because the owners of private property object to listing, anyone may petition for reconsideration of whether or not the property meets the criteria for evaluation using these procedures. Petitions for removal are submitted to the Keeper by the State Historic Preservation Officer for State nominations, the Federal Preservation Officer for Federal nominations, and directly to the Keeper from persons or local governments where there is no approved State Historic Preservation Program."

The article about the castle is full of errors. It looks like some of the sources used had exaggerated a lot of it. For instance, it shows it being 10,000 square feet, but it is actually only 7639 square feet. It also says that it is five stories, but the fifth story is just an attic that has no stairs, ceiling, heat, or plumbing and it has rafters criss-crossing the whole thing. It was never made for living space and would be impossible to convert, so the article is way off. I probably don't actually care as much about having the property delisted as much as just rebranding it. My feeling going forward is that while the Castle is located in Hoquiam, it is no longer part of the city and will never be opened to the public again. The story won't end there however. After it is rebranded as the Crimson Castle, it will be featured on numerous YouTube channels and will be promoted heavily. It will be a travel destination for fans and have its own community built around it. It is basically going to be an overnight guest house, but visiting it will be free. The major Youtube show is going to be about Heavy Metal, so I think the city is going to regret making me change my previous plans! Harkowl (talk) 02:25, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

The square footage is listed correctly on Zillow, but not everything there is correct either. The home has five legal bedrooms, but Zillow says seven. They are counting a room in the basement and the garage, but I think these would just be considered bonus rooms as the garage was converted to living space. Not a big deal though.
