U.S. articles

Thanks for your many contributions to U.S. cannabis articles. If you are interested, you might bring a little more attention to these articles by adding them to Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge, which is an ongoing campaign to create and improve U.S.-related articles. You can add articles to the bottom of the list, or tag article talk pages with Template:WPUS50k in order to have your work included. Looking forward to a continued conversation re: a possible 4/20 editathon. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:16, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

Cannabis in Ohio

Cannabis in Ohio and Michigan seem to be the last couple states that don't have articles or redirects. I recently made the Pennsylvania Article, so I figured I'd keep going with Ohio >> Draft:Cannabis in Ohio I couldn't find a decent source for decriminalization though, did you find one when you were double checking my map chart? Thanks, and btw great working with you. Houdinipeter (talk) 21:56, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello @Houdinipeter:! I added the Ohio cite to your draft for you; it was way back in 1975 which might be why you missed it. Great working with you as well, and thanks for the help on the state-level articles. Ohio is a bit more involved because it had that interesting off-year ballot initiative in 2015 that failed, and there's some interesting story to that that's worth exploring for a paragraph or so. Are you done on states after Ohio, or claiming another? I think I'll do Alaska next, which is one of the few states that decriminalized and then re-criminalized.
Good working with you as well, and thanks for applying your graphic skills to the map. The layout is great, my only concern is whether the whit asterisks draw more attention than they should, but again I admit it's tricky to cover so many different graduations of "sort of legal" in a limited way. @Houdinipeter:, anything we're waiting on, or can we go ahead and move Draft:Ohio into livespace to fill that redlink? Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 01:25, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Just meant to ask you. I'll publish it now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Houdinipeter (talkcontribs) 18:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Cannabis in Ireland

Hi Cpl Mulvaney. I'm responding to your post at WikiProject Ireland. I don't have time to do any actual editing of Cannabis in Ireland, but after reading the article and doing a quick Google search, I can tell you that the topic is fairly well covered (and up to date) on these three pages:

I hope you will decide to do the rewrite, because it could be a decent article with a bit of work.
By the way, just out of curiosity, why did you choose to name your new articles "Cannabis in..." rather than "Legality of cannabis in..." or some such? Scolaire (talk) 16:10, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello @Scolaire:, thanks for the links. I chose the title because that's the standard for country-specific cannabis articles (check the template at bottom of that page for links to 40-some articles for cannabis in other nations). The advantage of a title that general is that it allows us to also use the page to discuss the history of industrial hemp, cannabis drug culture, and other issues beyond simply legality. Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 21:34, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, that makes sense. Scolaire (talk) 21:53, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

I have to ask...

How close are you to being done? This is quite the monumental undertaking. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 23:40, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

@Mr. Vernon:, done with which task specifically? Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 23:41, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
The cannabis legality articles. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 23:44, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
I have every single state and US territory done; I don't plan to necessarily make one for every single country (WeedWiki is ahead of me there), but what I am trying to do is use existing submitted material to flesh out the "Cannabis in XCountry" tree, with the thought that having specific articles makes people more likely to google them, and also more likely to grow them rather than try to jam more info into a crowded chart. What I'm doing right now is mostly an exercise in creating the most coverage/pageviews for the most efficient effort, and making sure everything is linked together via wikilinks/categories/projects. After I take care of countries we already have coverage for somewhere and sort them into their own articles, my next goal is to clean up the chart and make it more useful. After that, the Legality of cannabis article is a mess and Cannabis in the United States needs a better history section. So I have a series of general plans. Your user page

Just a small comment: Unless the statement was by you (you forgot to log in), you really should consider reverting/moving the comment by an IP on your user page. The user page is yours and it is generally assumed everything on it is by you. Comments/discussions, such as the one by the IP (assuming it wasn't you), belong on talk.
