Welcome to Wikipedia[edit]

Hi Goldpoet1951, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions to Chanel Miller. I'm one of the volunteers who helped write that article, as well as that of Miller's memoir. A good practice to keep in mind when editing is that Wikipedia is based on information that can be supported with reliable sources. We call this site policy verifiability. I was able to find a source that Miller's father is a retired therapist, as you asserted with your edit, so I added that reference to the content. When making changes of any kind, even if you know them to be true, it is best practice to have a reliable source to back up your assertion. Then, you can add in a reference after your change that shows it is supported with a reliable source.

Another note: We have no way of verifying that you are who you say you are. However, if you have a close personal connection with the subject of the above article, you are encouraged to avoid editing it directly, as this can constitute a conflict of interest. If you have suggested revisions/edits to make, you can instead suggest them on Talk:Chanel Miller to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest.

Welcome again to Wikipedia. There are lots of helpful editors around who are willing to answer any questions you have. A particularly helpful place for new editors is the Teahouse. Best, Enwebb (talk) 00:32, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
