Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Richmond Athletic FC has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/pages/Richmond-Athletic-FC/421878510164.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Richmond Athletic FC do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

License tagging for File:Richmond Athletic FC Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Richmond Athletic FC Logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jordan Yong (footballer), and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.ex-canaries.co.uk/players/yong.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 05:44, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jordan Yong (footballer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Nomination of Jordan Yong (footballer) for deletion[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Jordan Yong (footballer), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jordan Yong (footballer) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:39, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of footballers[edit]

Hi "Glym", I notice you have created a few pages of football players recently, and that at least one of them is currently nominated for deletion. It is likely that others such as Joe Green (footballer) and Kori Davis will also be nominated for deletion in due course as they do not appear to meet notability criteria as set out at Wikipedia:NSPORTS#Association_football. Please don't get discouraged by this, but rather look for areas where you can contribute, such as you have done with Richmond Athletic FC (whihc could do with some 3rd party reliable source BTW).--ClubOranjeT 10:35, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Joe Green (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Player who fails WP:ATHLETE and WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GiantSnowman 14:36, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries.[edit]

Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Edit summaries are particularly encouraged when you delete a PROD tag so other editors can understand your objection to deletion and may look for ways to save the article rather than continue the deletion process.--ClubOranjeT 06:32, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Will you please stop adding non-notable players names to the list of notable players of the Richmond Athletic F.C. article? The names you have repeatedly added do not pass the necessary standards of notability for Wikipedia, and so should not be on that list. If you continue to re-add names which have been removed from the list, it will become clear that you are engaged in disruptive editing, and you put yourself in severe jeopardy of being blocked from editing. Grutness...wha? 10:59, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at Kori Davis, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ClubOranjeT 19:09, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Richmond Athletic F.C., but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. The repeated addition of 3 players to the notable former players section without providing evidence of why they are notable is original research. please do not continue to add them unless you can provide an evidenced rationale for their inclusion ClubOranjeT 10:21, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Glym, if you persist in trying to add in the same information again and again, when it has been explained to you why it does not belong in the article, there will be no option but to block you again - for longer this time. I'd rather not do that - much of the information you added to the Richmond Athletic article was useful. But repeatedly going against the guidelines in this way when you have been repeatedly asked not to is extremely disruptive. Either provide evidence that the players are notable - as has been requested by ClubOranje above, or stop adding them. Please! Grutness...wha? 10:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What part of "Don't" do you fail to understand? This is your last warning. if you continue to reinsert that information you will be blocked again, and the block will have to be for longer this time. Please stop! Grutness...wha? 23:34, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Second block[edit]

Glym - you really need to understand what Wikipedia is, and how it works. There are guidelines and policies in place to stop people from adding information which is non-noteworthy or unverified. Wikipedia works by consensus, and the consensus that has built up over the years has created these guidelines and policies as best practice for creating a workable, effective, and reliable online encyclopedia. Wikipedia is a community, and - as with all communities - its guiding principles need to be adhered to. One of those principles is that editors are expected to try to reach some form of consensus when there is a disagreement over an article. Consensus includes being guided by the community's principles, and engaging (or attempting to engage) in dialogue with other editors where there is a disagreement over article content. At least two editors have repeatedly tried to engage with you over repeated edits which you have made which go against the general notability guidelines for Wikipedia's articles. When warned about this behaviour, you have made no comment, but have simply persisted with your edits. Over the last eight days you have repeatedly added in information to the Richmond Athletic F.C. article on almost a dozen occasions, despite being repeatedly told that such material is not appropriate for the article in question. You have also attempted to disrupt the process of three Articles for deletion discussions by removing templated messages from the tops of the articles. You have been blocked once, and as soon as the block was lifted you returned to the same article and again began edit-warring. This is one of the most notable characteristics of a problem editor. You leave me no alternative but to block you again, for a longer period this time. Be warned that continuing to disrupt Wikipedia in this way after the current block is lifted will only lead to longer - and possibly permanent - blocking.

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

A reponse, via email[edit]

I received the following response from you via email: I really wish you would stop editing our wiki page and blocking me in the process, I really can't see why you keep editing it, I am sure you would not like it if I was to block you!

It is not "your" wiki page. It is Wikipedia's - see WP:OWN. As such, anyone may edit it, and all editors of it - yourself included - must abide by Wikipedia's rules. By "our", I take it you mean that you are writing this on behalf of the football club. That is strongly discouraged by Wikipedia's rules and policies -check WP:COI and WP:NOT, especially the sections on webspace providers and directories. If you want your own page, giving your own information about your own organisation, then get your own website. If you wish to edit the article here, you must officially declare your interest (i.e., make it clear on the article's talk page that you are connected with the club), and you must abide by Wikipedia's guidelines - as have been repeatedly explained to you by both ClubOranje and myself. It is your repeated refusal to understand these rules which have led to the necessity of blocking you.

I would strongly suggest that you read and follow the suggestions laid out in the essay Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. It is clear from the initial article which you made that you have the ability to help Wikipedia, and it would be sad to see an editor who can contribute well when they want to permanently blocked. Yet that is the way you are currently heading. If you follow the standard practices of good wikipedia editing and learn the way Wikipedia operates as a community, hopefully you will make more constructive edits. A tag has been placed on FC Nelson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:FC Nelson.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Glym,

In November you received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of FC Nelson 2012 season, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: FC Nelson. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, FC Nelson 2012 season. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – FC Nelson. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at FC Nelson – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Thebestofall007 (talk) 07:09, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
