Dear Atlantic306 - Thank you for your comments. However, you are editing out statements that are in fact referenced and also editing out material in real time while I am adding the references. Please wait until I finish adding the references to edit or comment, or I will not be able to complete the referencing because the article keeps reverting to an earlier version without the information that I am referencing. This is interfering with the process of documenting the article. Thank you! Thanks for adding the references, the article is much better now. Wikipedia is not permitted as a reference ( because it is user-generated and can be inaccurate) so the wikipedia references need replacing but the other refs seem fine, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:41, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your connection to articles you have edited[edit]

Hello @Globalglo. I noticed that you've made quite extensive contributions to a small number of articles over the past 15+ years. It seems that most of your contributions have been to the articles on the Commonwealth Club of California; its longtime president, Gloria Duffy; her husband, Rod Diridon; her alma mater, Occidental College; and the college's longtime president Jonathan Veitch.

There's nothing wrong with focusing your editing on a small group of connected articles, but sometimes this can be a sign that an editor has a personal connection to the subjects of those articles that should be declared. I would like to encourage you to read the Wikipedia guideline on conflicts of interest. There are quite a few scenarios that might raise COI concerns. Some of the most common ones are when an editor works on an article about themself, a relative, or a person or organization with which they have an external relationship. There's a similar issue when someone is being paid to edit Wikipedia. If, after reading the COI guideline, you recognize that you have a conflict, the guideline provides advice on how you should approach future editing of Wikipedia articles. In that scenario, it would be helpful to understand how such a conflict might color your earlier contributions to these articles.

Of course, it's entirely possible that you have no conflict in relation to these articles and they are merely the topics that interest you.
