Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "GlasgowGladiators", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because usernames which might be seen as representing a specific company, organization, or group (such as what your working on at User:GlasgowGladiators) are not allowed per WP:ORGNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:44, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page[edit]

Hi GlasgowGladiators. It appears that you are using your user page to work on a draft for a possible future article. Although this is not something expressly forbidden, your user page might not be the best place to do such a thing. In general, a user page is a place where you can let other editors know a little more about you and your activities on Wikipedia. It's OK to have some personal information, etc., but it's not really intended to be a personal website or a social media page per WP:UP#NOT. When you use your userpages for drafts for future articles, it can be easily mistaken for an article as explained in WP:FAKEARTICLE, and subsequently tagged for deletion. It's generally better to work on drafts for future articles in your user sandbox, another page in your user namespace, or even in the draft namespace. These places are typically where editors work on drafts for new articles or improvements to exisitng articles, so your work is less likely to be tagged for deletion as a "fake article". I have added Template:Userspace draft to the top of your user page as a temporary measure, but you should consider moving the content to one of the three suggestions given above. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:04, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest editing[edit]

Information icon Hello, GlasgowGladiators. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article User:GlasgowGladiators, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:05, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Going by your choice of username and what you're working on at User:GlasgowGladiators, other editors might assume you have a conflict of interest with respect to Glasgow Gladiators Powerchair Football Club. If you do, then please check the links in the above template because they contain useful information about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines related to conflict of interest editing. You might also want to take a look at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:17, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

May 2018[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:35, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
