[edit]Hello, I'm Xexerss. I noticed that you recently removed content from Psychological drama without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Nomadland, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. -- D'n'B-t -- 06:23, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you WP:MOVE the article instead of blanking it and making a new one? miranda :3 02:21, 15 July 2024 (UTC)

Your contributed article, List of EGOT winners and nominees of Filipino descent
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of EGOT winners and nominees of Filipino descent. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – List of EGOT winners of Filipino descent. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at List of EGOT winners of Filipino descent. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Raladic (talk) 02:48, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 15
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Robert Lopez
[edit]Hey GeniusTaker. I had to revert your edits to Robert Lopez because they resulted in something that wasn't a sentence and doesn't make sense. It's not entirely clear to me what you're trying to change or why you're removing the majority of the lead. I recommend discussing this on the article's talk page, where hopefully other editors (including myself) can help you make whatever changes you're trying to make.
I also notice you never got a welcome, so welcome! As you get started, you may find this short tutorial helpful:

- I should add that cooperating with other editors in a civil manner is a requirement. Some of your edit summaries have been apparently hostile (especially this one), which isn't OK. Content disputes should be brought to article talk pages.

Merging content without attribution or discussion
[edit]Hi. Please note that it looks like you copied content from List of Japanese Grammy Award winners and nominees to List of Japanese Academy Award winners and nominees without properly attributing this change or holding a WP:MERGE discussion beforehand whether the two articles should be merged or not. I have reverted your change for now, so please follow the guidelines at merge first, so the community can have a discussion on whether we should merge these articles or keep them separate (which is likely preferred), as keeping them separate may be more WP:PRECISE for what people are searching for, than a combined article would be. A lengthy welcome
[edit]Hi GeniusTaker. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've added a welcome message to the top of this page that gives a great deal of information about Wikipedia. I hope you find it useful.
Additionally, I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 17:49, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello GeniusTaker! Your additions to Jhett Tolentino have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:02, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
Ways to improve List of Filipino Emmy, Grammy, Academy, and Tony Award winners and nominees
[edit]Hello, GeniusTaker,
Thank you for creating List of Filipino Emmy, Grammy, Academy, and Tony Award winners and nominees.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Great undertaking here, however, you should think about breaking it up as it is very very long and therefore hard to navigate? thanks.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Aszx5000}}

- @Aszx5000: It's me again, I was improve or condense a little bit about the article.
- You can check the page again. GeniusTaker (talk) 06:29, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- That helps but why not break into individual awards such as List of Mexican Academy Award winners and nominees? you can still like them all together in the lede and other ways? thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 08:51, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- You said "individual awards", right? Like award categories or just like "List of Filipino Emmy Award winners and nominees".
- My article is likely compared with "List of Indian winners and nominees of the Academy Awards", but sorry I'm really confusing over the accolade list strategy. I can do whatever you said. GeniusTaker (talk) 09:00, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- And again, do you want "revised one yesterday" but removed most informations like "only individual nominated twice in a category, winning once"? That might be easier. GeniusTaker (talk) 09:07, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Like all Wikipedia articles, think of the reader. Whatever is (1) interesting and (2) easy to read, is what we are looking for. We don't need to be the "complete" picture on something, but we strive to be "useful". I think if you have separate lists for each major award type (per other countries), then you will have great articles. If you want to build a little more detail into each one, that is your decision. Hope that helps. Aszx5000 (talk) 09:29, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Robert Brill photo.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Robert Brill photo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:51, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Did you really take this photo yourself like you've claimed to have done here? Getty Images is attributing the photo to someone named "Bruce Gilkas". Are you Bruce Gilkas? Only the copyright holder of a photo can claim it as their own work and license it under such license, and the copyright holder of a photo is, in principle, the person who takes it. So, if you didn't take this photo, you're not its copyright holder and, therefore, can't release under any copyright license as your "own work". If you didn't know any of this and just made a mistake, that's OK; just be more careful in the future and don't do anything like this again. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:11, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- It's not my image, and yeah I removed the non-free fair use license and replaced with C-4.0. Just in case. GeniusTaker (talk) 03:45, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- EDIT: It's a mistake like last time I did. And I agree with you, I'll don't do anything again. GeniusTaker (talk) 03:47, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- This is a pretty big mistake because what you did, technically speaking, is claim someone else's creative work as your own; in other words, this type of thing is considered copyright infringement or copyfraud. If you want to do such things on your own website, then that's up to you; however, this type of thing isn't allowed on Wikipedia. The fact that you've stated you've done something similar before isn't really a very encouraging sign; so, my suggestion to you would be to take a close look at c:Commoms:Licensing before uploading any other files as your own work again. Basically, you shouldn't upload any photos that you didn't take yourself as your "own work". If you want to upload an image you found online and you're not sure whether it would be OK to do so, you should ask for help at WP:MCQ or c:COM:VPC. Making a mistake like this is OK once or even maybe twice is not good, but it's understandable; making this type of mistake over and over again, though, is likely going to lead to an administrator stepping in and taking some formal action against your account. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:45, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- I appreciated with that about the license and stuff. I should have completed my own list using some images with or without licenses, that's all. As a matter of fact, I'll never do that with uploading images again if they have concerns about image licenses. GeniusTaker (talk) 11:13, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Lea Salonga with a Tony statuette.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lea Salonga with a Tony statuette.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:04, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please don't remove the speedy deletion template from this file's page again. The file's non-free use will be assessed by an administrator who will decide what to do. If the administrator feels the file's non-free use satisfies Wikipedia's non-free content use policy, they will remove the template themselves. Just for reference, removing the other freely licensed image of Salonga from that article doesn't automatically make it OK to use this or any other non-free image of Salonga, and it deosn't change the reasons why the file was tagged for speedy deletion. If, however, you disagree with my assessment of this file's non-free use, follow the instructions given in the speedy deletion template and use the template {{di-replaceable non-free use disputed}} to explain why. The administrator will review whatever reasons you give and decide whether the file's non-free use should be further discussed. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:33, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
Incest in anime and manga moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Incest in anime and manga, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Copying/moving content within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved content from Clayography into Adam Elliot. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content (here or elsewhere), Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 17:58, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:The Bear FX Logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:The Bear FX Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:41, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jess Espanola with an Emmy statuette.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Jess Espanola with an Emmy statuette.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://globalnation.inquirer.net/144603/a-filipino-brings-to-life-bart-simpsons-antics and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". — Ирука13 00:23, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

- I think it's right or wrong but the point is, the whole content came from the original source (National Gallery Singapore’s ‘Painting with Light) and copied it entirely into IMDB possibly at the end of the year. So, I did reference the IMDB thing to the wiki, not NGS. You may check it out: https://paintingwithlight.nationalgallery.sg/field-experiments/insight-incite-inside-experimental-animation-from-the-region-2-part-2/ GeniusTaker (talk) 15:35, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter from a copyright point of view, because the Gallery's page is marked as "© 2022 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED". Diannaa (talk) 20:40, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
