Re Gastric bypass surgery
Your entry was undone, since it was essentially specific to one particular management style. Many, if not most, surgeons do not employ a foley catheter routinely, and feeding regimens vary widely between surgeons. I personally started Jello and broth, as well as water, on the first post-op morning, and solid foods by the second or third day. Many surgeons restrict their patients to liquids for six weeks. Some surgery is now done on an outpatient basis. I think that patients should be clearly informed by their chosen surgeon, about what to expect, both before and after surgery (I have a 44 page "Owners Manual", for what I did). Wikipedia cannot do that, and can only give rise to confusion, when it creates expectations that are different. Topnife (talk) 21:56, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
