Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

- Administrator elections are a proposed new process for selecting administrators, offering an alternative to requests for adminship (RfA). The first trial election will take place in October 2024, with candidate sign-up from October 8 to 14, a discussion phase from October 22 to 24, and SecurePoll voting from October 25 to 31. For questions or to help out, please visit the talk page at Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections.
- Following a discussion, the speedy deletion reason "File pages without a corresponding file" has been moved from criterion G8 to F2. This does not change what can be speedily deleted.
- A request for comment is open to discuss whether there is a consensus to have an administrator recall process.

- An arbitration case regarding Backlash to diversity and inclusion has been opened.

SOU 610 photo
The reason why I deleted our conversation about that No. 610 postcard photo was because I assumed we would simply delete our comments immediately after making them, and then we would view them via history.
But I could not find any copyright claims about this photo anywhere. All I did was purchase a copy of that postcard on eBay and scanned both sides of it to upload it here. - Generally it's best to leave comments in place - that way the history is more easily visible to anyone who comes across the discussion / talk page later. Could you restore them on the GA page? I don’t mind any of those at all, but since you split some of the sentences, let me ask this; aren’t Wikipedia pages encouraged to have all of their sentences (except for those at the short description at the top) to end with a citation, or do you think that’s unnecessary? - No, it's not required. A citation might follow a single sentence, or it might follow a short run of sentences or come at the end of a paragraph (see WP:CITEFOOT. There's no strict standard as long as all the information is verifiable and it's clear which sources are associated with which parts of the text. —Ganesha811 (talk) 11:26, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

Just want some advice
Hello, I have started a review on Boyd Exell and I was disappointed to learn that the original photo has a large watermark on it. I (or someone else) will need to verify the licenses and check if they are suitable or not on Wikipedia. I am worried about the copyright logo in the image.
I think free images should not be watermarked and I am not 100 percent certain about the correct license of the photo. I also noticed the editor cropped the image, now the watermark is gone in the article itself. Thanks. Alexeyevitch(talk) 11:11, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
