About Humble Bundle edits[edit]
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for your edits to List of Humble Bundles. But I was thinking: could you cite a reliable source for the humble bundles, other than the main website? It's just that it will help if the article is nominated at AfD; this happened a short while ago, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Humble Bundles. If you have any difficulties I would be willing to help.

- Of course! What would qualify as reliable sources, if I may ask? I've seen refs added by others that cited PCGamer or Rock, Paper, Shotgun - to name two of the sources I've seen. So, for a couple bundles I added, I just cited PCGamer as the source. Is that sufficient? If not, I would definitely appreciate any help as to what would be a necessary reliable source. I would still consider myself to be a novice at editing on Wikipedia, so I'm always trying to improve! :)

- Oh I didn't realize that, thanks for that. Yes PC Gamer is definitely notable; it's best to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources, and you can see that it's listed. Tip: that WikiProject has various resources to help you. I'd imagine one link per bundle was enough, otherwise the ref list would get too long. Rock, Paper, Shotgun is also listed.
- I was meaning to ask you opinion: I was thinking of deleting the "daily bundles" and "flash bundles". These were short lived experiments for bundles only for 1-4 days, that weren't very notable, a bit like the current mobile and book bundles. It might help control the article list length a bit, and focus, which was brought up at AfD. Any views on that matter? --Jules (Mrjulesd) (talk) 00:29, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Alright :) And thanks for that guide, that will definitely help! From now on, I will add a reliable source to any new bundle I add to the list, and also try to find sources for the older bundles that don't cite a reliable source.
- I wouldn't be completely against it. I think it would help the vast length of this article (it is, after all, one of the longest pages of Wikipedia). I'd agree the less notable bundles such as the short lived flash and daily bundles could be removed. I probably would keep the mobile and book bundles, as there are a few people that visit Humble Bundle specifically for the mobile game bundles or the books / comics bundles. Maybe certain bundles, such as the book bundles, could be moved somewhere else. I wouldn't know where, however. But overall, the less notable daily / flash bundles should probably be removed, in my opinion. G4m3rMatthew (talk) 03:27, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah what I think is that main tab (Humble Bundle) and weekly tab (Weekly Bundle) should only be kept. Items on the other tabs (such as Books Bundle, Mobile Bundle, Flash Bundle) should not be included.
- Looking at a web cache, the flash bundles were not on the main tab. See Humble Flash Re-Bundle: Codemasters July 14–15, 2014 for example. But it seems the daily bundles were, so should probably be kept, e.g. Humble Daily Bundle: Humble Indie ReBundle 8 May 16–17, 2014. What needs to be weeded out a bit are book and mobile bundles that weren't on the main tab, e.g. Humble eBook Bundle 4 May 28 — June 11, 2014. Doing this might help article deletion prevention.
- Anyway, I should bring this up on the talk page; but frankly I was a bit unhappy with the deletionists at AfD, and I don't really want to argue with them at the mo. But I will bring it up at some point I suppose. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 21:58, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- I see, the Flash bundles were a separate tab while the Daily ones were part of the main Humble Bundle tab it looks like. I would have forgot which bundles were on which tabs, so once again, thanks for the links. Cleaning out the flash, mobile, and book bundles should definitely help prevent a future AfD against it. I find List of Humble Bundles a very useful article myself, and use it frequently when researching past bundles (e.g. if a certain game has been offered in a previous bundle, or if it's a first time humble bundle game.) So I myself was also taken aback when I saw the AfD, and was relieved the result was no consensus. However, I read many delete nominations, so that does worry me. I will try to improve it when possible to hopefully prevent another AfD :). G4m3rMatthew (talk) 03:57, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- OK well thanks for your comments :). The good thing about AfD is that does help to maintain standards. The bad thing: well read it to find that out. I will definitely participate in future AfD pages, especially if it concerns an article I'm interested in. Hmm, I didn't even know there was a Wiki solely for PC gaming :D.
