Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Taha Karaan, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Sources on English Wikipedia aren't necessarily required to be in English and online. We often use offline sources that exist in other language. If we stick with online available English resources, a bulk of Islamic biographies would fail to retain their place on Wikipedia. Please avoid removing information that has been cited with a reference. The best you can do to know further, is to ask for the reference from the editor who has included the information [in this case me]. I'm a biographical researcher and work around the scholars who have ever studied at Darul Uloom Deoband or Jamia Millia Islamia or are anyway associated. Please desist, I'd be glad providing my available sources about Mawlāna Tahā Karaan. Please don't remove the information just because his students don't know the fact. So many facts aren't always known to close ones. The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 11:47, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is safer not to attribute labels when the work is not freely available for others to verify, particularly if his main students and inner circle appear unaware that he identified as such. Please do share a scan of the source/reference material, it would be much appreciated. An inquiry is currently underway and if the majority deem it safer not to make attributions that is not commonly known amongst his scholarly circles nor featured in his personal work, then it cannot be passed as facts, and should perhaps be reworded to indicate this is the impression the author had of him instead.
