AfD nomination of The Children and Young Persons (Sale of Tobacco etc.) Order 2007

[edit]

I have nominated The Children and Young Persons (Sale of Tobacco etc.) Order 2007, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Children and Young Persons (Sale of Tobacco etc.) Order 2007. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? asenine t/c\r (fc: f2abr04) 15:36, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tobacco Order

[edit]

I have noticed that you have created an article about the order raising the age limit for purchasing tobacco in England and Wales from 16 to 18 and that you have also edited the list of acts of Parliament to include a link to this article. I have blanked the article and redirected it to a pre-existing piece on the order. I have also removed the link in the list of acts of Parliament. The reason I have done this is because the article you created covered a subject which had already been covered elsewhere, which could easily have been found using a search of the encylopedia, and also because linking to the order from the list of acts of Parliament you created is incorrect. The legislation is secondary legislation, not primary legislation, and it is already linked to from the appropriate secondary legislation list.

Your participation in Wikipedia is welcomed. However, please check that an article about a subject has not already been created before creating one. Also please check whether when you add something to a list it is really appropriate for that list. The age-raising order is already covered in an article, and already linked to from the appropriate list. If you have more to add about the legislation then please feel free to edit the existing article. David Newton (talk) 19:50, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
