This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Lalit Bhasin, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.supremecourtcaselaw.com/lbhasin.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 07:14, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Lalit Bhasin
A tag has been placed on Lalit Bhasin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 07:15, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Can you provide any third-party references (newspapers or academic) to establish its notability?Martinlc (talk) 13:46, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
I received a WP:PROD notice for the above. Universities are generally considered to be notable. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities/Article guidelines#Notability. The article obviously needs work but there is no reason to delete. I am not sure why you notified me as the article history shows that my sole contribution was to tag the artcile for sources and expansion in January, whilst on WP:New pages patrol. I also note that you did not place a PROD notice on the article itself. YOu could consider finding further sourcing yourself. Jezhotwells (talk) 14:00, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Altered speedy deletion rationale: Chromium Dumb Belle
Hello Nilotpal42. I am just letting you know that I deleted Chromium Dumb Belle, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. The WordsmithCommunicate 16:44, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Need help
Hi, I am given to understand that you do have law background , Quite a some time back I had created an article Wikipedia:WikiProject India/Fair use , The article needs edit support from Indian legal fraternity & expertise.Kindly do help.
Mahitgar (talk) 13:15, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- Presently Wikipedia:Fair use criteria article only cares according to US laws, While en-number of Indian wikipedians are writing on english and Indian language wikipedia projects and while contributing on wikipedia projects they are bound by Indian Copy right laws. I wanted article to develop on the lines of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria article but which guides according to Indian laws,To minimize legal exposure by limiting the amount of non-free content, using more narrowly defined criteria than apply under Fair use.
- Practically it needs to be useful to Indian Wikipedians at least to some extant
- Can we get any Indian (judicial) case studies to site with references
- For copyright expiry is 60 year criteria correct and how to apply ?

Grab some glory, and a barnstar
Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. monopending changes begin june 15 17:49, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

- It's the number of characters added or subtracted since the last edit. So if you were watching your talk page, this edit right here would probably register as +200 or so. If you see an IP edit with -40,000 and no edit summary, be very suspicious. - Draeco (talk) 14:14, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, if you go through a page's history and open the most recent revision that you find acceptable (for example, 3 versions before the current version on any given page), click edit, and click save, you will have "reverted" the page to that former version, effectively undoing all the changes of the last three edits. - Draeco (talk) 20:56, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Reverting and rollback are not the same, though the end result may look similar. Any editor may revert an article to a previous version using the "undo" link on the history page. Only administrators and certain other privileged users have the rollback option, as explained at Wikipedia:Rollback feature. - Draeco (talk) 21:09, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for contacting me. We were recently discussing how the Signpost could better cover news from Wikimedia and other projects. This would be an excellent topic to restart our "Sister projects" section. You could write the article yourself or I could conduct an interview with you and some of the organizers. Lovely to see your Signpost article
I'm about to copy-edit it. I notice two things, though. First, Is it possible not to use a horizontal gallery at the top? A vertical arrangment would enable the pics to be a bit larger (they are tiny at the moment) without the wasted white space, and critically would not spread way beyond users' windows to the right.
Can the apostrophe be dropped from the title? Tony (talk) 03:52, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
May I make a suggestion, since there's already a request for feedback on Signpost interviews at the talk page, as yet unanswered. Could the questions/answers be re-arranged simply, so that the photos and the competition come first, and the personal information about the users comes later? I guess I'm referring specifically to this segment, from "What motivated you to join Wikimedia Commons? What other activities do you undertake as editors?" to "like Juliancolton or Lx 121." That way, we could get the readers straight into "What role does the Photo fo the Year ....". JC and miya are already introduced in the previous para, of course. Tony (talk) 04:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- The title is just a place-holder since I cant think of anything better. If you have a title in mind, go ahead and change it. I had placed the pictures vertically in the beginning, it did not work for me but this does not work either. Can you do something about it? I am not really sure about the rearranging though.--Nilotpal42
- I'm not good with pics, but I'll try. WRT any re-arrangement, is your main concern the sanctity of the text provided by the interviewees? Tony (talk) 04:58, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I would prefer to tweak the order before it is answered.--Nilotpal42
- I like your previous arrangement much better; I guess you were concerned about the small column width created for the text, worsened by the indenting of the interviewees' responses?
- Is "POTY" the standard abbreviation? It's most unfortunate (potty being what infants defecate into!). "The contest" would be a suitable substitute.
- If "misquoting" written text is the issue, I'm sure both interviewees would be only too pleased if asked, to view tweaked versions of what they wrote. Tony (talk) 05:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

- Ah, so she expects that her text will be tweaked. Would Julian object to changes (even the re-arrangement of the questions)? I know him and could ask, and there's still time. I'm trying to get away from the straight quoting of entire interviewee responses (mainly in the WikiProjects SP articles), with much more paraphrasing of what they say. I don't think it would alter the message, but both interviewees would need to be asked. Tony (talk) 05:27, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, to cut to the chase: I can re-jig this whole article in a way I'm trying to encourage The Signpost to go. It is not radical, but I think it is much more appropriate for the genre. However, I don't want to do a whole lot of work unless it's going to be used. That is up to you: if you like, I'll do a little in a mock-up, to see what you think. If you wanted to proceed, both interviewees could easily be emailed to view it and say yes or no. But you'll need to let me know soon if you want me to do a small mock-up of it. I am not interested in co-authorship: it's your authorship, even if revamped, IMO. Tony (talk) 06:16, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 21:00, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Comment that may or may not prevent you getting chewed out at some point
Hello, Forty two! I've run across you at Motto of the Day (you have some terrific nominations, btw). There, you made the mistakes of "voting", which is, referring to your comment as a vote. Despite the fact that it many times looks like a vote, MOTD, like RfA and AfD for example, is actually a discussion. Most Wikipedians get around this by using the term !vote (which translates not-vote, in case you haven't seen that markup before). Because such discussions are not votes, it is helpful to leave a reason for your !vote, as opposed to just a blank support/oppose, etc. As a note, referring to it as a vote really doesn't bother me, but it does bother quite a few Wikipedians quite a great deal, so I'm hoping to save you from running into one of them!
You may have seen this at some time before and your slip-up at MOTD ("I was lurking here when I spotted this. And I had to vote") might have been an accident, but I thought I'd point it out. Also, welcome to MOTD! We're glad to have you. Happy editing, PrincessofLlyr royal court 13:34, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Answered at [1]-- Forty twoEhh, what's up doc? 15:05, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. Like I tried to mention, it doesn't really bother me, but I thought I'd point it out in case you weren't aware of how strongly some people feel about it. And it is easy to see discussions like that, which look very much like a vote, and assume it's just a straight vote. Thanks for so willingly recognizing the concern. Archiving of this page
Archiving of the page User talk:Forty two is now working.
The reason it was not is, as follows;
- Originally, Forty two had not correctly set up the parameters.[2]
- This was partly fixed by 1234r00t [3], I then fixed this further [4] but 1234r00t removed the counter setting [5]
- Several days later, I reinstated that setting [6] and it started to work [7].
I hope that clarifies things. Best, Chzz ► 07:40, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you very much.--Forty twoThanks for all the fish! 16:58, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Nav box
I have a question. Can you tell me how to create a nav box for my user page and subpages? I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks in advance! The Utahraptor Talk 00:56, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, create the Nav box in a separate page in you userspace, say User:The Utahraptor/NavBox. (You can check mine to get an idea of what code to put in it.) Then use the page as a template. For example at the top of your user page and talk page write {{User:The Utahraptor/NavBox}}.--Forty twoThanks for all the fish! 00:24, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Tерор на БРП/БКП
Hello Forty two. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Tерор на БРП/БКП, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Redirect is in another language, so it doesn't qualify under R3. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:25, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
- Also with regards to the Teror of BRP / PA, we do not use machine translators to translate articles, all you've done is create a mass of text which is completely unintelligible, and arguably worse than it was before--Jac16888Talk 09:05, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
Hello Forty two. You used the {{helpme}} tag but you did not post a question. Please write out your question and when you are done, place back the tag. I or someone else will be along to help. Alternatively, you can ask your question at the new contributors help desk, the help desk, or join the #wikipedia-en-help IRC help channel to get real-time assistance. Click here for instant access. |
- Re. the redirect - there is no problem with us having the page Tерор на БРП/БКП - it is fine. Redirects do not cost anything. Chzz ► 19:10, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry I made a mistake. I hadn't read R3 carefully enough to notice that translations are expressly excluded. My edit, where I replaced the original text with the machine trnslation, can be undone to return the page with the untranslated text. I could do it myself, but I would prefer somebody else to de-PROD it.
- As for the {{helpme}} tag, it was placed by User:Magali78. S/he was probably looking for some help from me. Thank you.--Forty twoThanks for all the fish! 13:57, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

- And apologies about the 'helpme' part; I should have noticed who placed that. I'll check on that other user. Cheers, Chzz ► 14:48, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Hudson Utility Coupe refs/dead links...
Hey there Forty two! I am having issues fixing the 'dead links' in this article and was hoping you might be able to help me out. I would like to nominate the article for a DYK?, but want to fix these pesky nexis/lexis dead links (Refs 4, 5 & 6) first. Any help you could give on this gratefully appreciated. July 2010
Thanks for your welcome and instructions :). First of all I would like to say, I didn't say anything wrong to user Karthi1522. I have just told him not to delete any contents in "Puneet Rajkumar" article. He may be mad to act like that. I didn't notice my talk page about Karthi1522 message. Just now I saw, he has abused me in our language. I don't know whether you understand "Kannada" language. Whats that April 2007 in your message?. Thanks for instructing Karthi1522 not to attack any article. I don't bother about those(karthi1522) people who don't have common sense. see u :) (Kannadakumara (talk) 18:05, 30 July 2010 (UTC))
- Thanks for your response. I am still learning to edit wikipedia. I don't know much about templates. Thanks for removing vulgar message. I was preparing to remove myself. I don't know how to inform any administrator about such Vandal. (Kannadakumara (talk) 18:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC))
- Ya I have seen that link. You have informed to that link as typical lawyer :D . OK I will try not to talk to those people. Anyhow wikipedia should take action on Vandals very fast, otherwise many vandalized articles will be there in wiki. And wiki should let the users to talk personally with vulgar free language. What you say? . Thanks and Good night :) (Kannadakumara (talk) 19:00, 30 July 2010 (UTC))

Presents for Sally
Hi 42, just a quick note about Presents for Sally. BLP prods are for totally unsourced biographies about living people. I and others tried in the recent RFC to get this broadened so that Myspace, Utube, Linkedin and Facebook links could be ignored, but we failed to get consensus for such a change. Also it looked to me more like an article about a band than a biography., PS just because an article has been prodded doesn't mean one should remove other tags.
