[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. David Biddulph (talk) 18:51, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I have been trying to make some edits to the Bipolar Disorder page under Genetics. There are a few paragraphs and some references. I would really appreciate if an editor can assist me with this? I can send the contents and references. Thank you (Flamingo2019 (talk) 15:39, 27 February 2019 (UTC))
- Your edit request at Talk:Bipolar disorder#Semi-protected edit request on 19 February 2019 did not include any references. As the reply to your request made clear, without a reference the change will not be made, particularly as it involved removing existing references. --David Biddulph (talk) 20:08, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
- And as I said in response to your most recent question at the Teahouse, you need to read the reply you received when you last asked about this: WP:Teahouse/Questions/Archive 910#Cannot edit existing wikipedia page. --David Biddulph (talk) 20:12, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
The edits request on 2/19 was merely deleting some of the existing text under "Causes" and then moving that amended paragraph to the "genetics" paragraph so the references on the page do not change and there are no additons. Do I still need to include the references in my edit request in this instance? (Flamingo2019 (talk) 15:39, 28 February 2019 (UTC))
- Your request was asking for text with references to be deleted. That won't be done without justification. Similarly it doesn't make sense to delete the section heading for "Causes", when that is the over-riding section heading below which the 3 existing sub-sections sit. So the answer to your edit request is "No". --David Biddulph (talk) 15:50, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
