(deleted earlier post) - On closer examination im not sure whats happening there - I thought there was one IP who was the blocked user - then there seems a third party or second IP was in there as well - havent looked closely enough at the hist and diffs to sort it out - SatuSuro 10:32, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ggs[edit]

thanks for that - there is more to do but i got annoyed to see it was the second chapel in the category i had found and it had those tags, i have taken some piccies but they are trapped in my download issues which i keep meaning to get gnangarra to help with - so maybe yours will get to wikpedia before mine ever do - btw have you found any air shots of early aquinas like the two that i have referred to at the ggs chapel? I hadnt realise the photographers were as serious as getting into the air - either the 1930's or the 1990s

also i think there is a problem (it might be me sitting in front of the terminal for too long:( )

Guildford Grammar School's Chapel is one of the three latest Revival styles in Australia - the Gothic Perpendicular Revival

- its like i am missing something from an earlier editors work - any clues? SatuSuro 01:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would be really good if we could get links to photos at least that show the rest of the schools from the air - impressed by the 2 ggs ones so far . I think after looking at it for a few days i think ive worked that sentence out after all. but dont hold breath for the correction - i got to get the book to check a few things next week or the week after :( - cheers SatuSuro 10:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
WHo needs problems when you have little friends like that :( SatuSuro 11:57, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Always humbling to have your page (out of the thousands and thousands of talk pages) the victim of random shit :) Twenty Years 12:02, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Btw _ I would be very very interested (please - at my talk page rather than the subject talk page) - of my comments at the List of Indonesian schools talk page - you might not agree - but I would be very interested in your thoughts about when part of the edu project thinks that a schoolable population of 50 million plus might have listable schools :( - gnangs suggestion of breaking it down to islands and provinces is a good one - but wonder if you have met the beast (lists regardless of size of population) - and your thoughts on it - i reckon category is the better way to go- but still would be interested in your ideas on it - cheers SatuSuro 12:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that - I appreciate the feedback - i think thats the way we gotta go (gawd 50 million kids) SatuSuro 12:46, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I dunno bout other perth schools but there is a presistent problem with a red link entity being added to the notable alumni at ggs - any thoughts on how to manage the not really valid alumni issue ? SatuSuro 09:58, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well if we looked at the number of kids who might have gone from any of the public schools onto any band - I dont think that is sufficient to put them in the notable alumni - there needs to be the whole issue of whether the band is notable and whether the band and or member meets WP:N - I could make a claim for myself from the ggs alumni - by making similar connections to the reccurent red link pest - because i was associated with something that was associated with something else does not make me notable. thanks for your response. I will keep reverting that one i think - cheers SatuSuro 10:34, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gawd - if he goes in - then it effectively makes the other 200 (?) ex ggs people who have strummed a guitar or bashed a drum over the last thirty years eligble as well - nope - no article - I reckon he stays out unless the article appears imho - but i do appreciate this cross checking on this because ti does have effect on all the other private school lists too - i reckon theres gotta be a stricter threshold - but figure tis better to talk about it rather than silent reverts - so thanks - appreciate the opportunity SatuSuro 10:39, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Highly subjective list that one - thanks for pointing it out to me - overloaded with rhodes scholars - the school also produces people with things other than that - even some notable criminals - heheh - thanks for that I think I'll get back to Indonesia categories before I say something out of order :) SatuSuro 10:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your concern that there was no warning, however, the user had both a name and editing style that indicated a troll account. Many vandals sockpuppet and come back in forms of one-use only troll accounts. I am willing to remove the block of his account if his intentions are in the right place and he doesn't make anymore "lame" comments. However, he has to make a legitimate edit to an article by copying and pasting it on his talk page (then proceed with the edit). That's a fair way usually to determine if they are here to edit constructively.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 12:15, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

twenty years, my apologies for the alte reply, i have recently been unwell and unable to continue discusion regarding the page. from my interpretation of the discussions left on the page, it was in agreance that the captains list and information regarding leadership could be found on a linked page. i took the liberty of creating that page and that link. this addition is in acordance with the agreance on the discussion page, so, for the sake of good will, i implore that you uphold the suggesteions made on the discussion board. since the change is based on what was agreed upon on the aformentioned discussion, i will assume there is no issue in reverting back to the previous liknk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zebra91 (talkcontribs) 06:51, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PLC Sydney FAC[edit]

Hey Twenty Years, Thanks for your support of Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney in its FAC. Unfortunately im giving up on it for now as the points brought up in the second oppose are just too much work at present, as they seem to require almost a complete rewrite. Hopefully we can get one of the Aust GA's to FA sometime in the near future! Thanks again! Loopla (talk) 02:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Canning College, WA Logo.JPEG[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Canning College, WA Logo.JPEG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:18, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox craziness[edit]

Ah ur kidding me!! Was there any discussion or anything?? Or has one person decided that thats what they want?? (and didn't we already discuss this possible change on the infobox talk pages a while ago??) I haven't had a chance to have a good look. I hate that infobox!..I think its totally hideous looking and completely over the top, while the Aust ones are perfect for our articles. I've gotta go out for a few hours, will have a good look when I get back. Not happy Jan! Thanks for pointing it out. Loopla (talk) 05:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know, Styrofoam1994 has nominated it for deletion. Orderinchaos 06:32, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Did so, but noticed it was basically a poor quality job off the web banner. Checking the site I found a much higher quality, although mono-colour, image which I did up as a PNG. Also infoboxed the school. Orderinchaos 07:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just added my thoughts to the Wikipedia:Templates for deletion situation. Thanks for getting it all sorted and reverting Styrofoam's changes..must have been very frustrating!! Nice work! Loopla (talk) 11:11, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject[edit]

Heh, I have experience with "ego-satiating wikiprojects" unfortunately, from Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Terrorism_and_counter-terrorism - a group created six months after Wikiproject:Terrorism, because a certain user wanted "control". I really don't see the whole point, it's not like my name appears anywhere on WP:T or that I claim any special ownership - I just take it upon myself to try and spur members after months of inactivity to come back and help us. Anyways, glad to see there are some other people involved in the homeschooling project debate who are looking at more than just Memberlist count :) Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 17:41, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Alternative Education proposal[edit]

I'm about to write one up, so maybe we can come to a conclusion together before you let everyone else know at their talk pages.  :) DiligentTerrier and friends 17:28, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Five Years. You have new messages at Diligent Terrier's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Thanks, I'd appreciate if you'd toss your location and particular "branch" of AE up at Wikipedia:WikiProject Alternative education/members - I think it's best to keep the "bureaucracy" like memberlists off the main page, which is where we'll point to all the articles/projects/collaborations that we'd like people to work on. If they're actually interested in who the members are, they can click "Members" at the top :) Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 19:10, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have sorted out the assessment categories and statistics side of the operation - the result is a category system, the actual assessments and this rudimentary template. Feel free to mess with as necessary, I kept it all fairly simple and assumed no assessment department, so if you add one you'll probably need to edit the template for that (if you have any difficulties let me know). Orderinchaos 20:51, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, there are clearly some WP:OWN issues at play, and nothing ranks quite so high on my Pet Peeves list. I'm very Communist in that way, everything gets credited to the state, not the individual ;) But I'll try to stick around where I can; I do feel an obligation to help dispel some of the more common myths about homeschool graduates. Tool[edit]

Just to let you know, I discovered the wonders of <br clear="all" /> while on Wikisource and it's an invaluable little tool to keep handy to prevent "Sections" from bleeding into each other and ruining the outlay of a page. :) Sherurcij (Speaker for the Dead) 17:45, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I use that one a fair bit :) Also, {{-}} does the same thing, have seen Hesperian use it before. Orderinchaos 08:54, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you redirect WP:HOME to the Main Page which is in a different name space? Zginder (talk) (Contrib) 21:02, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cute[edit]

You know, I not going to stoop to "that level" and reply with some sarcastic remark about you; cuz I'm above that. I will, however, tell you that WikiProject homeschooling is an official WikiProject whether you like it or not. If you want, maybe we can take this to an admin like jj or maybe even glasscobra. Requests for adminship/TenPoundHammer 5[edit]

Hi I noticed that you have supported this RFA but commented 'per Elonka'. I just wanted to double check that this was correct as Elonka has opposed the RFA. If it is correct you might want to just clarify your meaning. Thanks. Davewild (talk) 11:44, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying. Davewild (talk) 11:58, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me?[edit]

I'm sorry, I wasn't even aware that you were part of this conversation. In reply to your post, however, I did nothing that violates any policy. If I came across as rude or whatever, I'm sorry. But I don't understand why you are concerning yourself with others' business? elisatalk. 14:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disregard my apology above. In fact, he should be apologizing to everyone from whose talk pages he deleted content. He accuses Kimu of harassing him? How is deleting content from someone else's talk page not harassment?? Honestly. All he had to do was leave a message regarding the edit, and maybe I would have understood. But no, none of that occured. Just a blatant disrespect for WP policies. elisatalk. 14:41, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to have misunderstood what was happening here.

  • Trust me, I'm smarter than you think I am.

Kimu was cross-posting messages (which is a violation of policy) to every member of WikiProject Homeschooling, regarding comments i made to him on his talk page.

  • Prior to your informing him, Kimu had no idea what cross-posting even was. In addition, perhaps if the words you chose weren't so infammatory, we wouldn't even be having this delightful conversation.

Cross-posting is against wikipedia policy, and the message he left on everyones talk page, was against wikipedia's harrassment policy.

  • Kimu was harassing no one, and stated no names.

After discussing the issue with Kimu himself, OIC reverted all of the edits Kimu made to everyones talk page, which Kimu agreed with.

  • I would so dearly like to see that discussion.

As such, he was not violating talk page policy (the discussion is on both OIC and Kimu's talk page for reference).

  • I would love to know how deleting content from other users' talk pages is allowed. If you find any rule in this encyclopedia allowing this behavior, trust me, I'll be glad to recant my statements.

As such, I am involved in the discussion.

  • I still don't understand how this involves you...?

If you believe deleting content from a users talk page is harrassment, i suggest you read WP:HARASS, which will make it clear to you that it isnt harassment.

  • My bad, it's not harrasment, it's just not allowed.

Youve been here a short time, so i wont"bite" you, but the tone of your messages is very hostile, and tends to inflame debates, which could end up breaching WP:CIVIL, and your accusations against OIC are against wikipedia's policy of assuming good faith.

  • My apologies, I didn't realize that trusting an admin to make right decisions caused debates, as I am not the one that even initiated the canversation. In addition, I have not been here a long time, but am quite fed up with admins as a whole. The only one I completely trust is GlassCobra, and I would be more than happy to alert him of the situation. I would also like to know how the tone of my messages is hostile. I am stating facts. Hostile, I would say, is clearly depicted in this edit to Kimu's talk page, and the whole conversation that you initiated with me on mine, including the comment below. I absolutely refuse to apologize for something I did not do.

Please read the relevant policies and move on with your life, one message on wikipedia surely doesnt mean that much to you. Thanks.

We're done here. There's obviously no point in carrying on the conversation. elisatalk. 13:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
