I'm already locked out of the page I created. They want a citation and I have it, but don't know how to apply it (them)
Locked out? If the citation is a web page, place it in like this next to the cited statement: [http://www.yourcitationurlhere.fart] (replace my fake URL with the url of your page, I mean the page, since original research is not allowed on Wikipedia! ViperSnake151 22:51, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also see WP:CITET for some help with citing articles --Longing.... 23:16, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I do this when the edit button isn't available?

The edit button should always be available. If not, it will say "View source", which is because the page was protected from editing due to vandalism. Please take a picture of the problem for us, and post it on imageshack --Longing.... 00:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The link this link I hope I did this right...

What language is this?Fishing464 01:07, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you looking at the page's source code? Please look at the actual page in HTML. If you are having problems with netscape, try another browser, such as Opera or Firefox --Longing.... 01:16, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Before you look, thank you for your time. Is this what you mean? <anofollow" class="external free">http://img117.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture10au5.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2310/picture10au5.th.gif" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" /></a> Fishing464 01:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never Mind... In my angst to send you the right info it has returned and I didn't even notice. Sorry Fishing464 01:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. In the future, please do not add the {{helpme}} tag every time you leave a comment, it makes it hard to read, and it pretty annoying. If I wasn't planning on helping you, I wouldn't have removed it ^^ --Longing.... 01:50, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you once again. You've been extremely patient with me...Fishing464

Welcome to Wikipedia!

[edit]

Dear Fishing464: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   --Longing.... 14:39, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Read the links people put on your page. They're there for a good reason --L--- 03:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't figure out the Sandbox deal. I know I'm a dope, but this is all really foreign to me. Fishing464 03:27, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also the problem I'm having is setting up the citation thing. There's something I'm not doing coding wise. Fishing464 03:31, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, see the links I posted above. If you need a sandbox, use WP:SANDBOX --L--- 03:32, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Willie-Lamberto-2009.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 15:24, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Unveiling-Mickey.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Unveiling-Mickey.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 17:30, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
