Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --87.112.70.168 (talk) 20:27, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you carry on spamming (and don't lie to me, I'm not your mother - your pattern of edits is classic link spam), your link will be blacklisted. So stop. Promote your book some other way. --87.112.70.168 (talk) 20:28, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Hey there Delicious Carbuncle -

I added content to the "facilitation" page on Wikipedia and cited a book I wrote as the source. I've received two warnings about advertising or inappropriate external links, spamming, and using WP for advertizing and promoting my book.

Can I add content from something I've written and can I add my book to the reference list? If yes, what are the boundaries for doing so without violating the policies?

Thanks!

Also, it's been entertaining reading the notes on your talk page. You remind me of Dr. Laura ... getting right to the point.Facilitation Author (talk) 14:21, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Editors here are antagonistic to editors and edits that seem intended to be advertorial or promotional. The policy page on conflicts of interest (wp:coi) provides more information. My basic suggestion would be to use aritcle talk pages rather than edit content directly where you may have a vested interest. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any assistance. ChildofMidnight (talk) 20:23, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
