Question from Namamacs (22:13, 30 June 2022)

Hi, Ezlev. Thank you for your welcome to me. I appreciate your volunteering to help new contributors like me!

I have a question, please. I read the article "Help:Userspace draft" and tried to create a userspace draft. When I did that, I EXPECTED to see a page similar to the example the article showed "User:Namamacs/Zoe Empowers" because my username is Namamacs and the draft page I want is Zoe Empowers. However, the page I actually see is User:Namamacs/sandbox/Zoe Empowers. I think the sandbox is different from the Userspace draft. So, I am confused. Please help me understand how to make a Userspace draft page. Thank you so much! I sincerely appreciate your help. Nama --Namamacs (talk) 22:13, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

Hi Namamacs, and welcome to Wikipedia! It’s totally fine to draft your article at User:Namamacs/sandbox/Zoe Empowers, or at User:Namamacs/Zoe Empowers. Either of those is in your user space and can be used for a userspace draft, and you can get started by clicking either of those red links and starting your draft. You can also use Draft:Zoe Empowers, in the Draft namespace. It’s totally up to you. If you’re making a page in the future and don’t have someone else to type out the redlinks for you, you can just put the page title into the search bar at the top of Wikipedia and hit enter, and there should be an option to create the page. Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with! ezlev (user/tlk/ctrbs) 22:55, 30 June 2022 (UTC)
Wow! What a fast response, Ezlev. How kind of you to answer so quickly and so completely with so many choices for me. I appreciate your expertise. My brain was boggled as I kept reading and reading Wiki help articles. You solved my problem in minutes!
I sincerely thank you.

Question from Namamacs (20:17, 1 July 2022)

Hello Ezlev, Please tell me how to insert a Table of Contents in the draft article I am writing. I cannot find a way to do this.

All I found was to ask about "Macros." Do I need "Macros" in the menu bar? If so, how do I get Macros?

Thank you so much! --Namamacs (talk) 20:17, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Question from Namamacs (21:43, 1 July 2022)

Hi Ezlev, I apologize about my Table of contents question. I kept working on it and figured out what was wrong. I didn't realize it would automatically show up when I was not in "edit" mode!

I do have a question about submitting the draft article. How do I submit it? I've read there are two ways to do this, but I am not clear on the correct procedure. I want to follow the proper protocol, so I appreciate your input. Thank so much! Nama --Namamacs (talk) 21:43, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

Question from Namamacs (14:57, 2 July 2022)

Hi, Ezlev. I followed directions on "Wikipedia:Moving a page" to move the Draft:Zoe Empowers to mainspace.

It looks like the article is in Wikipedia, but there is a funny template at the top. I logged on to Wikipedia.com, English version, and then entered into the Wikipedia search box the term "Zoe Empowers" just as anybody else in the world can do. The article shows up in full but with the strange template at the top that I did not put in.

I am a confirmed Wikipedia editor, and I am hoping I don't have to "clutter up the AfC queue with pages that do not need support or guidance from AfC reviewers." (I'm following these instructions from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation.)

Please advise about how to remove this strange template. Thank you so much, Nama --Namamacs (talk) 14:57, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

Question from Namamacs (15:30, 2 July 2022)

Ezlev, Yay! The funny template at the top of the article has disappeared, so please disregard my question about that.

Now, I see a box telling me corrections to make on the article to meet Wikipedia's standards. So, I'm working on that now.

I sincerely appreciate your support! Nama --Namamacs (talk) 15:30, 2 July 2022 (UTC)

WikiCup 2022 July newsletter

The third round of the 2022 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 180 points, which is a lower figure than last year when 294 points were needed to progress to round 4. Our top scorers in round 3 were:

  • Zulu (International Code of Signals) BennyOnTheLoose, with 746 points, a tally built both on snooker and other sports topics, and on more general subjects.
  • Kingdom of Scotland Bloom6132, with 683 points, garnered mostly from "In the news" items and related DYKs.
  • Sammi Brie, with 527, from a variety of submissions related to radio and television stations.

Between them contestants achieved 5 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 51 good articles, 149 DYK entries, 68 ITN entries, and 109 good article reviews. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article nomination, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Question from Namamacs on User talk:Jimfbleak (19:34, 3 July 2022)

Please help. The first article I wrote, Zoe Empowers, has been deleted (speedy deletion) by Jimfbleak. I want to leave a message on his Talk page. At the top of his talk page, I see the message to please add your message to the bottom of this page. However, I cannot see how to do that. What do I do to contact him? Thank you so much, Namamacs --Namamacs (talk) 19:34, 3 July 2022 (UTC)

Question from Namamacs (19:59, 3 July 2022)

Hi, Ezlev. Once again, I apologize for asking about contacting the administrator Jim on his talk page. I discovered how to do that, and I have written to him. So...

I think you may be magical. You may smile, but it seems everytime I reach the point of frustration and write to you about something I cannot figure out...Then it seems I immediately discover the answer to my question. I think the next time I need your help, I will write to you and NOT send my request until I try one more time to find the answer. So, I thank you for being my mentor.

Your draft article, Draft:Kassa (association)

Hello, Ezlev. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Kassa".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 20:58, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
