Percy Pyne[edit]

I think there is some confusion about exactly which Percy Pyne succeeded Moses Taylor as president of City Bank. The confusion is compounded by the fact that the Pyne family contained several Percy Pyne Jrs, II's, III's and so on.

In the reference "Genealogical and Family History of Southern New York and the Hudson River", page 1412, the Percy Pyne (1820-1895) (let's call him #1) who married Moses Taylor's daughter is the one who became president of City Bank. No other Pynes were ever to hold that office, to my knowledge. The page you created, Percy R. Pyne (1859-1927) (let's call him #2) is for Percy Pyne's son, who was not the one to hold the presidency of City Bank.

Do you have any personal knowledge of the family, for instance are you a family member with access to private documents? I tried to research the family fairly extensively in the course of starting the Moses Taylor article, and was never able to find much information about Percy Pyne #1.

Jim - Thanks for being so conscientious. Information was so sparse I was going to give up and leave it a red link when I ran across the page. Citi has pulled the site that was my original source. I will try to clean it up. If you wouldn't mind, I would appreciateif you could add whatever you have to the Percy Pyne page. Thanks again!!!!Exit70 (talk) 03:19, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
