Editing concerns[edit]

Thank you for experimenting with the page Pierluigi Collina on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. Duncan Ferguson[edit]

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your addition to the Duncan Ferguson article but I'm afraid that I've had to revert it due to copyright concerns. The article in question came from the Evertonian publication which makes it unusable for Wikipedia in its verbatim form. I would encourage you to add an external link to the article and possibly to try and work some of the important information into the article in a way that doesn't fall afoul of Wikipedia's copyright policies. veila# 03:24, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:EvertonTigersbadge.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EvertonTigersbadge.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Jack Rodwell, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of Jack Rodwell[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jack Rodwell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. robwingfield «TC» 23:09, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Aidan Downes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. AfD nomination of Aidan Downes[edit]

An editor has nominated Aidan Downes, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aidan Downes (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 22:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "Alex Latta"[edit]

A page you created, Alex Latta, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Image copyright problem with Image:StadedeBonRencontre 2008.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Hi EvertonChris!
We thank you for uploading Image:StadedeBonRencontre 2008.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.

Jagielkaism[edit]

The article Jagielkaism has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:39, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you did a pretty good job on creating the page. However, there were some errors that you've made that I just corrected. One of them is the nationality, Barnett is from Sierra Leone so he's a Sierra Leonean footballer, not an English footballer. Since he's on loan with Darlington, his current club is Darlington. Also, you should put a background on the page about him, regarding his youth career, his pro career, etc...., and some of that might have to be referenced, like his loan move to Darlington. Let me know if you need help on anything. – Michael (talk) 22:17, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello EvertonChris! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Jim Pearson - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Delme Herriman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
