December 2013[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Evan Kostopoulos. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. I understand that you were removing unsourced information that you claim is currently only a rumor, but even in such a case, you should not make the edit yourself -- contact the Biography of Living Persons Noticeboard for assistance removing information from an article about you. BTW, please note that Sydney Olympic FC has made (on November 29) an announcement on their Facebook page[1] concerning the signing of Evan Kostopoulos. A Facebook announcement isn't generally considered a reliable source for information in Wikipedia articles, but it's also just slightly more than "just a rumor". Assuming this information is picked up by other Wikipedia editors and/or by media outlets that reproduce it, the information may be reintroduced to the article whether "officially" announced or not. If you are actually the subject, you may want to contact the Club concerning this issue. We can only hold back information, even information unintended to be released, for so long (not long at all) once it appears in a citable source. Dwpaul Talk 23:53, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto on the Adelaide United Facebook page[2], also November 29, so you have to be aware that this information will be citable very soon, if it is not now. Dwpaul Talk 00:11, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
