Contraforte[edit]

Again about the contraforte, I thought I understood that it's called "contraforte" because it can produce a louder tone than the regular contrabassoon. You changed the text from "stronger" to "improved dynamics." That would seem to mean it can produce better loud AND soft sounds. (In which case it maybe should be called "contrapianoforte") :) Can you explain in the article what you mean by "improved dynamics"? Badagnani 21:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi- 2.5 years later I found your question: I thought "improved dynamics" is clear enough? "Contrapianoforte" would be more accurate but not sound like a name, or remind of the keyboard instrument too much. Eppelsheim (talk) 01:45, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
