Unexplained reversions

[edit]

Wikipedia has certain standards, guidelines, formats and rules. That which you keep reverting satisfies those requirements.

That which you replace it with does not display a neutral point of view, and contains many unsubstantiated opinions, and material that wikipedia classes as original research.

What is it about that which you revert that you don't like?

It appeared to me that there was "stuff" missing, so I added that in, but you continue to revert. Why?

I'm looking forward to your reply. Pdfpdf (talk) 11:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I politely asked you to explain your anti-social actions. Your response is to remove the polite question, without any explanation of your actions. Pdfpdf (talk) 23:27, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why your reverted version does not satisfy WP standards

The table is non standard format - it doesn't follow WP guidelines - that's why there's an "Infobox Aust school private" template, and why you should use it.

Emanuel School is an Independent, Co-educational, Pre-school to Year 12 Jewish Day School situated in Randwick, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on a beautiful heritage-listed campus.

Who says it's beautiful? Has it won any awards for beauty? Without independent support, this is just opinion and is not encyclopaedic fact. Similarly, there should be supporting evidence that the campus is heritage-listed.

The School was founded in 1983 and has grown to become a leading school in the area – with record enrolments. However it has no wish to grow any larger and risk losing its special intimacy.

All unsupported opinion and point-of-view.

Emanuel School’s Year 12 school leavers consistently set the school apart as one of the top non-selective schools in the State and well ahead of quite a few of the selective schools too.

What is a selective school? Who decides which is the top school, and what criteria do they use? What does "one of the top" mean? What does "well ahead" mean? This is all subjective - facts are objective. If this sentence is "approved by the school", it doesn't say much for the school's communication standards.

The School has a compulsory Instrumental Programme for students from Year 3 to 8. This ensures music is one of Emanuel’s focal points.

I doubt that it "ensures" anything.

Sport at Emanuel is also popular with students often having too many teams to play against schools that are much larger.

This sentence makes no sense at all. Again, if this sentence is "approved by the school", it doesn't say much for the school's communication standards.

The Emanuel School Learning Centre has specialised educators who support classroom learning across the entire school. Experienced and specially trained practitioners lead the Gifted and Talented Programme and Opportunity Classes. Students benefit from the Laptop Programme which requires laptops for all primary Opportunity Classes and all High School students.

OK! No real problems here, but could do with some supporting evidence - e.g. what does "experienced" mean, and what special training do they have.

The Kornmehl Centre Emanuel Pre-school is situated on the same campus as the K-12 school and caters for 60 children from 3 to 5 years of age.

OK. The first completely objective and factual statement free of opinion.
History

In 1982, under the leadership of Rabbi Brian Fox and with the support of many other committed members of Temple Emanuel Woollahra (now know as Emanuel Synagogue) and the wider Jewish community of Sydney, the idea of Emanuel School was born. On 2 February 1983 the first 53 students were enrolled in rooms at Temple Emanuel. Later on in that year the school moved to Watsons Bay, in the grounds of Our Lady of the Sea.

OK, but could do with some supporting evidence - e.g. reference to a page on the Emanuel School website?

In 1984, Emanuel School bought the Randwick site which is still used today. The School opened its doors a year later with 230 students from Years K-8. The Right Honourable R. J. Hawke M.P officially opened the school the next year.

ditto.

In 2001 the Emanuel School Board took on a new management plan. to ensure its place among the top schools in Australia. This included the appointment of a new school Principal – Dr Bruce Carter AM. Emanuel School’s enrolment has grown exponentially from then to over 700 in 2008.

OK without the the waffle. (Note that "grown exponentially" means nothing - if the exponent is less than one, something can grow exponentially and get smaller!)
Summary

I hope you now understand why my colleagues and I keep reverting your changes. Quite simply, your replacement is substandard. I sincerely doubt that a school with the standards that you assert that Emanuel has would approve such poor quality prose.

As I said before, awaiting your response. Pdfpdf (talk) 04:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
