You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, EdmundIJones. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 13:38, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How do I talk to NeilN to justify the edits i've made?[edit]

Do I post a discussion point here? The edit's I've proposed and any pages I've added in the past are of real interest to other people. They lay out accurately what a concept is (e.g. WPI and SMI), no attempt has been made to sell anything to anyone, they are just pages detailing the methodology used and reason for the concept. I'm happy to amend sections if required if it does not comply with the editorial guidelines.

I'm watching your talk page so you can post here. You can participate in the deletion discussions linked above but first you must disclose any connections you have with the company per our Terms of Use. [1] --NeilN talk to me 13:49, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see, I've updated the World Price Index page to remove any company names and ensure it is referred to as a PPP computation concept, hopefully this now complies with the rules? If there is anything specifically wrong with it, please let me know and I'll address it.
You still need to add independent third-party sources to show it's notable. --NeilN talk to me 14:00, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've added a source to the original working paper, The Power of Price Indexes.
Have you complied with our Terms of Use? And please sign your posts by adding ~~~~ at the end of them. --NeilN talk to me 14:13, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I beleive I have, I've added EdmundIJones (talk) 14:15, 12 November 2014 (UTC) as instructed to the end of the page.EdmundIJones (talk) 14:15, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not in the article.

"As part of these obligations, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. You must make that disclosure in at least one of the following ways:

  • a statement on your user page,
  • a statement on the talk page accompanying any paid contributions, or
  • a statement in the edit summary accompanying any paid contributions."

--NeilN talk to me 14:23, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a statement to my user page and noted my company affiliation and explicitly stated that there is no money involved or revenue generating activity.EdmundIJones (talk) 14:30, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The two articles are still up for deletion. I encourage you to participate in the discussion and add more sources showing notability. WP:GNG is worth a read. --NeilN talk to me 14:37, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recreation of deleted pages[edit]

Hi Edmund. Wikipedia article subjects must pass a threshold called notability before they qualify for a Wikipedia article. Two articles you created were deemed to not pass this threshold and so were deleted after deletion discussions which are linked above on this talk page. Since then you have recreated these articles, and I have deleted them per the speedy deletion criteria G4 which states that articles can be immediately deleted if recreated after a discussion found the subject to not be notable. Please do not recreate these articles again. Thanks, Sam Walton (talk) 23:38, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:World Economics[edit]

Hello, EdmundIJones. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "World Economics".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:World Economics}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 12:17, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
