Hm?

Hi, I am Mishae, I would like to know if the indefinite block of user You have no nipples was fair. I'm not an admin, but maybe it would have been better to put him under topic ban instead? Not to mention, your block came after a warning, after which he didn't edit that or any other article. I personally invited him to WikiProject Pornography after seeing his sandbox. Regards,--Mishae (talk) 14:55, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Since all that user's edits were obvious vandalism, including the sandbox, and the username further suggests an intention not to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, this was a routine block (the kind that the template {{Uw-vaublock}} is regularly used to deal with). Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:10, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
O.K, but don't you need to give a user a last warning before you block him/her? Not to mention, in sandbox a user have a right to write what he wants as long as he is not attacking anyone and it doesn't get out.--Mishae (talk) 16:17, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
There is no requirement in the blocking policy for a "last warning" before a user can be blocked. And there are other types of inappropriate content in a user's sandbox than just attacks on other users (and it doesn't matter if it "gets out" or not either). -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:27, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
O.K. By last warning I ment this. He wasn't attacking other users just writing nipples and You have no nipples (in the very end). Is it dumb? Yes. Either way, if he will get unblocked feel free to give me a ping, and I will sent him to adoption.--Mishae (talk) 16:33, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
(ec) I guess I didn't realize that the disruptive edits at Coventry City F.C. were their entirely of contributions to Wikipedia. Upon review, it's clear that all edits are disruptive and that this user has no intention of contributing constructively. Therefore, I agree with you that an indefinite block would be more appropriate and I have modified the block accordingly. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:49, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Edgar181. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:54, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Guide me Please!!!

Hi Ed! I would like to know how can I make sure this page is put up by Wikipedia? I am new out here and don't know how to get things going. This page is about a Youth Activist who has been transforming millions of lives in India. I hope to hear from you soon on how do I re activate this page and why is it deleted. Kindly, help! For you reference this is what msg I have received. 12:11, 28 August 2013 Edgar181 (talk | contribs) moved page Jason Temasfieldt to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jason Temasfieldt without leaving a redirect (Misplaced AFC request) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.23.80.84 (talk)

You created an article titled "Jason Temasfieldt" and it was formatted as a draft article for the Wikipedia:Articles for creation (AFC) process. Since it wasn't titled properly for AFC review, it seemed to be misplaced so I moved it to the more appropriate location at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jason Temasfieldt where the AFC process could be completed. It was then deleted by the administrator User:Secret with the rationale "Article created with name showing it should not be an actual article". I don't really understand that rationale, so you'll have to speak to him if you have questions about that deletion. In general, Wikipedia only accepts biographies for people deemed "notable" under the criteria outlined at WP:BIO, so you might want to check to see if this subject qualifies. I would also encourage you to have a look at Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines which may apply here. I hope this helps, -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:01, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Saint Ampersand

On 23 April 2013, you deleted as G3 Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Saint_Ampersand. I would like to request that you undelete it and move it to User:Theonesean/Saint Ampersand (hoax). I'm currently developing a training program for new AfC reviewers, with Kudpung and Technical 13, and this would be the perfect, detailed hoax article for that particular section. Thanks in advance for your help. theonesean 20:59, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello. Long time no write, since it's been a very long while since the Indonesian anime vandal last attacked (most probably gone for good, but we'll never know as there hasn't had any new attack since last year, if I'm not mistaken).

Also, sorry if I'm in the wrong forum to ask this, but it's best to consult an admin who has experience.

I've already put two of the articles created by SaidMuqaffa (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), Bang Habib and Eri Satria, into AfD because I feel that the two articles are dubious, since there are no valid links to prove these two "TV stations" in existence. In fact, the Bang Habib article has the logo of TV3 Sweden (a possible copypasta of the infobox from the TV3 article). I've already notified the users in Wikiproject Indonesia and Wikipedia Asia about the AfD.

I'm also equally concerned about this user's generally behavior of putting possibly unsourced edits into several articles.

So can you investigate on this user? Thanks. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 12:55, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

PS: I've also notified JamesBWatson, but he hasn't replied to me yet. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 12:57, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

It's hard for me to judge the quality of this user's contributions because the topic is something I'm not familiar with. But from a cursory look, I agree that the new articles are suspicious and worth nominating for deletion. Contacting Wikiproject Indonesia and Wikipedia Asia as you have already done is definitely the best way to get help evaluating this user. I simply can't tell on my own whether this is an issue of vandalism/hoaxing, some type of competence issue, or something else. -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:29, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

New articles

Thanks for the suggestion about creating the article in userspace. After doing this kind of work for several years, I have found that the "sticking coefficient" for students, i.e., the likelihood that they would continue to contribute to Wikipedia is low. Vanishingly. They like the medium but the idea of contributing is not their idea of fun, I guess. So I usually just work on Word documents with them and take care of some formatting after they insert content. This seems to go ok and keeps my stress level down.

Funny thing is that it is actually getting trickier to find common chemicals that are not in Wikipedia.

If you see anything unfold that causes you concern, please let me know. --Smokefoot (talk) 02:38, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

You might want to have a look at User:MichaK/Missing chemicals. It's a bit old, but maybe there are chemicals on the list that Wikipedia should have an article on, but doesn't have yet. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:11, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Posibility of reactivating a wikipedia article

Edgar,

I would like to know the likelihood of reactivating the article about the Center for Advanced Scientific Computing and Modeling. I understand it was deleted for copywrite infringement. I would like to reactivate it and modify the article so that it does not infringe copywrited material. Shawnyahoo (talk) 14:19, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

The version of the article I deleted in 2009 was copied from the organization's website. I would prefer not to restore it because Wikipedia has a strict policy against hosting copyrighted content without permission. I don't think it would be all that helpful to restore it anyway. There wasn't much content to begin with and being from 2009, it may be out of date anyway. Please feel free to recreate the article (writing in your own words, or course). Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:09, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Dermizax page deleted?

Dear Edgar181,

a couple of months ago you hapened to deleted the page about Dermizax, a nonporous membrane used within many outdoor sports clothes. I wonder why you deleted the page. I understand there was some promotional content but this just happened as there is little information available on the market besides the one coming from the mother company.. On the other hand, major players such as Gore-Tex have a page full of promotional content and nobody intervenes here. I hope that we can agree on a neutral and informative page on Dermizax that helps consumers getting adequate information about the outdoor clothes they're buying. Please let me know what you think on this! Lucki Sports (talk) 09:27, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

I deleted the article Dermizax because it was promotional in tone and content and it had been marked as such by two other editors. If other related articles are full of promotional content, you are free to edit them to make them more neutral. If you wish to recreate the article on Dermizax, I would suggest that you first have a look at Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If "there is little information available" about Dermizax aside from what the company says about its own products, then the topic may not meet those guidelines. I hope this helps. Hiya. I suppose you remember the drama with all the undiscussed and G6 Vietnam moves moves. We had a series of RFC at WP:VN DISTRICT NAMES RFC and all the geo articles - about 600 in total were restored. Error on Tritoqualine image

Hello,
There is an error on the image of the tritoqualine : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tritoqualine.png
There should be a -NH2 instead of a -CH3 on the "top" of the molecule, and it seems I can't update the file. Could you change it or tell me how to do it ?
Have a nice day !

I have corrected the image. Thanks for catching the error and letting me know. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:24, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

SMILES vs. smiles

Hi Ed! I've come across a few drug articles you created that have a "SMILES" parameter in the drugbox. In case you haven't found out in the meantime: the drugbox needs this param to be called "smiles" (lowercase) or it won't display. Cheers, ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 19:11, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Seems annoying (and no benefit) to have drugbox different from chembox in this manner. And presumably trivial to fix too? DMacks (talk) 19:19, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
@Anypodetos: Yes, I am aware of the difference, but I guess that I forgot to make sure I had the right one those times. Sorry for causing you the extra work and thank you for cleaning up after me. And, @DMacks: It probably is a trivial tweak to one of the two templates, as long as someone has a bot that could convert all the drugboxes to SMILES or all the chemboxes to smiles. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 19:37, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
Just what I was going to say :-) No problem with the extra work; I seized the opportunity for a few other fixes. --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 19:40, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
PS. There are other parameters that have different names, for example ATCCode_prefix/suffix vs. ATC_prefix/suffix. In case someone wants to take the trouble to fix the SMILES param, all other differences should probably be resolved as well. --ἀνυπόδητος (talk) 11:21, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
I agree that it makes sense if one parameter is synched, all the others should be done at the same time too. User:Beetstra is probably the editor who knows most about these templates, so it might be worth asking his opinion. (I'll notify him of this conversation). -- Ed (Edgar181) 16:33, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

What I would do is to .. use both! It should be trivial to have {{{SMILES|smiles}}} in all cases, and then the template understands regardless the parameter is all capital or not .. it becomes crazier if there are also SmIlEs and SMIleS around .. but that would also be possible. It would be good to have that compatibility between the two. That also takes away the necessity to run a bot through mainspace fixing the problem. Hope this helps (I'll try and have a look to solve the problem in the templates, does need some searching though, and I do not have a lot of time to work on Wikipedia anymore). --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:06, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

That sounds like a reasonable approach to me. And no worries if you don't have the time (or the inclination) to do it. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:24, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

Suspected double account and vandalism

There are these 3 accounts and they seem to be intent on creating the impression that there is a football club in Dublin called Alfie Byrne's Harriers and that some real people played for them. There is no evidence of this club existing in anything online - there is an Alfie Byrne and there are many things named after him. They are : Aroncon95, Caelantummon and Rec95. I don't know if they are one person or friends. The football players they reference are Evan Finnegan (real) and Seán Brodie (maybe real, may not but currently up for deletion for notability). The question is what to do with them.-- 🍺 Antiqueight confer 16:47, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Alfie Byrne Harriers

Hi Edward, I am one of the accounts mentioned above, Aroncon95, who plays for the harriers football club so i can assure you it is a real club. I dont know why Antiqueight is so certain there is not. The club is relatively well known in the Clontarf are and has had a professional football player Evan Finnegan play for them. I deleted the page, not because they aren't real (I don't know if they are or not), but because there was no indication of notability. At the very least, there needs to be significant coverage demonstrated in some independent reliable source. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:13, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks and 3-nitro..

Thanks for your edits on the 2-nitrochlorobenzene. The same editor has agreed to tackle the 3- isomer, so that will complete the set. I am still trying to get him to elaborate on the easy substitution of the chloride group in the 2-isomer, since students tend not to realize the huge effect of the nitro group.--Smokefoot (talk) 14:00, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Was that one deleted ? I did not find it in the search box - yet I was provided a link - and it doesn't appear when you search that topic? 75.97.216.96 (talk) 03:35, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

I deleted (AAWA) Advocates for Awareness of Watchtower Abuses because it was an identical copy of another article, Advocates for Awareness of Watchtower Abuses (AAWA). That article was deleted later by User:Bgwhite and the reason he noted was "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion". Looking at the content of the deleted article, I agree that it was highly promotional in tone and content. However, if you have questions about that deletion, it would be best to contact Bgwhite and discuss it with him. -- Ed (Edgar181) 10:11, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Why have I been blocked?

Hello. This is Collin237 (talk · contribs) (now Collin237a). Windows says my IP is currently 192.168.1.78. I was referred to you from an edit button on the "Tiamat" talk page. It said you blocked me, without stating a reason.

Please explain.

Thanks, Collin Merenoff — Preceding unsigned comment added by Collin237a (talkcontribs) 10:55, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hi Collin! Looking at the block logs for your accounts and the IP, I am unable to find anything. What is the exact error message you are getting? Also, as your other account appears to be unblocked, can you restrict yourself to one account, as technically Having multiple accounts is generally not allowed... --Mdann52talk to me! 11:09, 5 November 2013 (UTC)
I see the same thing. Neither of the accounts Collin237 and Collin237a have ever been directly blocked, nor has the IP address 192.168.1.78. It is possible that an account for someone else using the same IP address as you was blocked, in which case your account might be temporarily affected, but I can't find any evidence that is the case either. As Mdann52 suggests, if you can copy the complete message you see and paste it here, maybe we can work out what the issue is. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:27, 5 November 2013 (UTC)

I use a household Wifi hotspot generator under the AT&T Aircard plan. My IP is dynamic.

I checked now, and I don't see the message. I don't recall exactly what it said, but it gave the name Edgar181 as the user who blocked me. And it something like "for the following reason:" with nothing after that.

Since I got that message, Wikipedia no longer displays correctly in Firefox. (I'm sending this in Explorer instead.) Perhaps it's a software problem? If it matters, my firewall is NOD32.

How do I delete my old account?

198.228.235.83 (talk) 16:06, 7 November 2013 (UTC) Collin237

My guess is that because you have a dynamic IP address you were assigned an IP previously used by someone else who was blocked on Wikipedia and therefore just a temporary problem. As for your software problems with Firefox, I don't think that is related to any Wikipedia message. Since it is best not to use two accounts, I would just pick one of the two to use from now on and abandon the other. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:22, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Can you look?

Take a look at [[2]] Hell In A Bucket (talk) 11:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Given the usernames and the editing, it seems obviously to me that they are the same editor. But since both are already blocked, I don't think SPI is really necessary. (I'm not sure if there's more that you want to see - am I missing something?) -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:32, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
Given the history and multiple recreations perhaps the softer block is not the most appropriate in my opinion but you have the buttons so if you think it's all the way it should be I'm ok with that. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 12:33, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
Considering the history, a harder block is probably better, so I've done so. Thanks for the heads up. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:42, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

If you have an objection to truthful, sourced content then write it up on the talk page. I'm not going to play 20 questions trying to figure out what you object to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.232.6 (talk) 15:35, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Just like I thought you're refusing to go to the talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.232.6 (talk) 15:46, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Comment. Or don't. I figure you won't because you aren't interested in participating, you telling people to go to talk page is just your dodge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Phyllis_Schlafly#Schlafly_anti-Muslim_statements — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.232.6 (talk) 16:07, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

RJENSEN is now REMOVING DISCUSSION from the TALK PAGE where YO TOLD ME TO POST IT.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.196.232.6 (talk) 16:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

It would probably make sense for you to give me a chance to comment before decrying my lack of comment, wouldn't it? I have left a comment there now. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:14, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Structure for Zeatin

I checked with the Merck Index and Sigma Aldrich to confirm the structure with CAS [1637-39-4]. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia and would like to fix these problems before they effect other sites that use Wikipedia as a reference.(Chem spider and other various websites) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Trans-zeatin.png — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kinliss (talkcontribs) 17:45, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

If I understand you correctly, you are suggesting that File:Zeatin.png is incorrect and that File:Trans-zeatin.png is correct. However, the two are equivalent chemical structures. They are simply tautomers of each other. The true chemical structure will be a rapidly interconverting mixture of the two, so depicting it as either one is correct. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I see (I had forgotten about resonance structures from Organic Chem I). I checked the CAS# link and noticed a completely different pi-electron configuration and your explanation made sense to why either structures work. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kinliss (talkcontribs) 22:22, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi Edgar. I wondered whether you'd mind me unblocking this user. His unblock request seems reasonable, and I'm not convinced a change of username is mandated here (it doesn't look as though the one addition of his blog was intended as promotion, and it doesn't represent a company or group - hell, there's a long defunct blog somewhere out there with my username on it). Unless you've got any strong objections, I'd be in favour of letting him carry on editing, now that he's agreed not to use his blog as a source in the future. Let me know what you think. Yunshui  09:18, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

I agree with your evaluation and have no objections to unblocking the username. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:12, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

May I add talk page notices for some username-blocked accounts?

Hi there. I've noticed that you've made sweeps through UAA the last couple days and cleared out lots of backlog--thanks a million! I wanted to ask a question about some of the accounts recently blocked there. I tend to go back and see what happens with accounts that I list at UAA, and I noticed that the four I put up last night were blocked but had nothing on their talk pages. The blocks were all "softerblocks," so I assume that you were just in a hurry because of the large number of usernames that had piled up. May I add the talk page notices myself (assuming I can find the correct talk page template), or is that something that really needs to be done by an admin? Thanks again for clearing out the backlog. DoorsAjar (talk) 20:22, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

I usually add those notices to the talk pages, but sometimes when there's a backlog and I'm clearing a long list, I neglect to do so. There is no reason that the message has to be done by the blocking admin (or any admin), so please feel free to do so yourself. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 22:37, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Just re-started a talk page you deleted

Hi Edgar181. The page in question is Talk:Mirka Rantanen. I can't locate the corresponding article. Hope this is OK with you - please let me know asap if it isn't! Peter in Australia aka --Shirt58 (talk) 11:06, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

No worries. I deleted that talk page back in 2009 because it was a talk page without a corresponding subject page (WP:CSD#G8). There is nothing wrong with creating the article or recreating the talk page. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:34, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Question about a maintenance template

Was wondering why you placed an "update needed" maintenance template "{{update|date=November 2013}}" on List of pharmaceutical companies. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 13:36, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

The data in the tables is simply outdated. It is from 2008 and 2009. Much has changed since then. For example, Wyeth no longer exists and Abbot has split into two separate companies. The revenues are all much different today, and the rankings are likely to be inaccurate. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:02, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

The return of Roger Jowett

Hi,

A year ago you blocked this IP - User talk:81.137.110.109 - as a sock of User talk:Rogerjowett. He's back [3] and resuming the behaviour that got him blocked last time. Chaheel Riens (talk) 13:34, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

I have blocked the IP again. Thanks for letting me know. -- Ed (Edgar181) 15:44, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Mbrsguwahati.edu.in

Hi, I've changed the block to disallow account creation, since multiple spam articles about the school have subsequently been created. I've blocked the new account too. I hope that's OK Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:27, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

That's fine with me. Thanks for taking care of it. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:54, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

maxpapa

Hi Do you have any suggestion to make maxpapa page not deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clextan (talkcontribs) 07:22, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

I deleted the article because it was highly promotional in tone. It has also been deleted two other times in the last couple of weeks for the same reason and because the subject does not appear to meet Wikipedia's guidelines for inclusion (see WP:CORP for details). From what I can tell, Wikipedia simply isn't a suitable outlet for writing about the company and I would recommend finding alternate venues. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:44, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Edgar. You blocked this user for violations of the BLP policy (which, under WP:BLPBAN, is perfectly within our remit - just to be clear, i have no problem with the implementation of the block). However, I'm giving some consideration to unblocking, with conditions, since it looks as though this user was acting in good faith - the information he added was sourced (not brilliantly, but we don't expect perfect RS compliance from new editors, and the sources used do seem at first glance to meet WP:BLPSPS). He also didn't receive any warnings about the BLP policy.

I note that there may be some bad blood between this editor and the subject of the article (see this edit summary (revdel'd due to outing, but not oversighted, so admins can still see it)), but I would be willing to unblock Whoisthisalfonso on the condition that he edits under a broad topic ban on Nino Firetto and any related subjects. Would you be amenable to this? Yunshui  09:15, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

I have no objection. Please feel free to proceed as you see fit. I like your suggestion of an agreement not to edit the Nino Firetto article and any related subjects as a precondition for unblocking. -- Ed (Edgar181) 11:41, 13 December 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Ed, will do. Yunshui  13:00, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Content removed from Voacangine page

I just discovered that you removed all the content I contributed to the Voacangine page, which were reports on its human pharmacology and references to developments in its isolation from a natural source. As the page still briefly mentions, voacangine is important because it can be used (and in fact is the most promising source) for semi-synthesis of the addiction-interrupting alkaloid ibogaine, currently derived mainly from the endangered iboga shrub. Unfortunately your edits removed all references to recent work on the isolation of voacangine from natural sources, including a recent conference presentation. The page also gives the misleading impression that voacangine has promising anti-addictive properties in itself based on animal studies because the disappointing results of human experiences were removed. While this data may be limited, it is very important in identifying promising alternatives to ibogaine for addiction treatment, and I hope that giving the reference for this data as a "personal communication" can be sufficient. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christopher Jenks (talkcontribs) 11:21, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi Christopher. Thanks for your interest in improving Wikipedia's chemistry articles. One of the core principles of Wikipedia is that the content should be verifiable (see WP:V for details) and based on reliable sources (see WP:RS for details). Wikipedia also has additional guidelines for medical content which is outlined at WP:MEDRS. So content based on personal communications or your personal knowledge is not appropriate and that is why I removed it. If some of the content can be referenced to a presentation at a scientific conference, that might be fine to include. Can you specify which conference, or provide an a conference abstract? If you feel the page is currently misleading by giving the impression that voacangine has promising anti-addictive properties based on animal studies, that part should probably be reworded to give it better context or maybe it should even be removed. -- Ed (Edgar181) 12:56, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Blocked user

Hi there,

I'm working the Special:NewPagesFeed and started working CGC Overseas Construction Group when I saw it was created by a blocked user, User:Ggcontr. The article was subsequently edited by a new user User:Greatvictor999.

Was there something in particular to look out regarding Gccontr? Should I look for the same sort of thing for Greatvictor999, in the unlikely event this was a new user ID for the same person?

Thanks!--CaroleHenson (talk) 18:02, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

I blocked Ggcontr because the username resembled the name of a company being promoted - it was a "soft" block, meaning there is nothing wrong with creating a new username. If Greatvictor999 is the same person, that is fine, but I would just be on the lookout for the potential conflict of interest or for promotional editing. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 18:07, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
Ok, thanks!--CaroleHenson (talk) 18:34, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

Loque2009

Hi, Because this account was used only for adding spam links, please change from 24 hours to indefinite. Thanks! Thewikiguru1 (talk) 21:07, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Since they only got one warning, a 24 hour block seemed best to me. I will keep a watch on the user and reblock the problem resumes. Regards, -- Ed (Edgar181) 21:31, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
