Deyneka paintings[edit]

I have noticed that you uploaded many reproductions of Deyneka paintings. There is a problem, Deyneka died in 1968 and by the law of Russian Federation copyright for the works of the painters who died after 1954 still belongs to their heirs. If you know that Deyneka or his heirs surrender their rights for the copyright or released them under some Wikipedia-compatible licenses it would be a great news. If not we can probably still claim Fair use on reproductions of Deyneka images in Deyneka article. In this case we should put {{art}} on the images and write a fair use rationale. If you do not know how to do it, I will do it for you.

The problem is that the article would have to many fair use images. I think two or three fair use images is the maximum we can afford. The paintings should be mentioned in the article and discussed there. Do you think you could select those images? For other images we have to have links to the external sites.

Sorry for bringing bad news, I have been in that situation and understand.

Welcome aboard. The Russian art needs wikipedians to write about it. Alex Bakharev 08:50, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Razdolje.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Razdolje.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:47, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
