December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Lillian Glass, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. I have also answered your request at WP:REFUND referring you to the deleting administrator, Spartaz (talk · contribs). Tikiwont (talk) 10:53, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Dr. Lillian Glass, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lillian Glass requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Your User page[edit]

I note that you've just created a User page in which you've copied over a version of the article, Lillian Glass. User pages aren't supposed to look like articles, or contain draft article material - see WP:UPNOT for more information. Please feel free to identify yourself on your User page, but do so without mirroring an article or using the page for self-promotion. If you'd like to take a crack at it I'd be happy to review it and let you know if it looks okay. In any case though, it can't stay as it is. Let me know - thanks! JohnInDC (talk) 03:27, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that, since my note, you've edited your User page as if it were an article (changing the infobox) - as I said, the page can't remain as it is and you need to replace it. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 12:28, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the content on your User page, per the policies set forth at WP:UPNOT - again, User pages should not appear to be Wikipedia articles, or be used to store drafts or older versions of articles. I'd be happy to look over and offer comments on any other User page you might wish to create; let me know. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 11:48, 10 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to let you know that I just undid a series of edits that you made to the above page. By and large they violated one or another Wikipedia guideline or policy - such as uses of honorifics throughout an article ("Dr. Lillian Glass" versus simply "Glass"); addition of references in the lead paragraph (which references incidentally also appear later in the article); and external links configured to look like Wikipedia hyperlinks.

I'd also reiterate the note that was left for you back in 2010 that indicated that editing articles about yourself is - while not forbidden, not favored, and should be taken with great care so as to avoid the appearance of self-promotion. (I'm assuming from your user name that you are Lillian Glass. If that's not the case - if you aren't her - then using her name probably violates Wikipedia's username policies, the pertinent portions being found here. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of this. Thanks! JohnInDC (talk) 03:39, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
