Speedy deletion nomination of John P McConnell

Hello Dmrwikiprof,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged John P McConnell for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Itsalleasy (talk) 02:38, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Fleming Beach Sign.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Fleming Beach Sign.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:36, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 16

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1837 in archaeology, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blasting (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Dmrwikiprof,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Benihana of Tokyo, Inc. v. Benihana, Inc., may be copied from http://www.invispress.com/law/corporations/benihana.html. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 23:59, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

As a case brief goes, it's not half bad, but even after editing it, it could still use more work. Bearian (talk) 19:05, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. The thread is Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Dmrwikiprof reported by User:MrBill3 (Result: ). Thank you. MrBill3 (talk) 15:24, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Upon consideration, I may have acted hastily in taking this to 3RRNB. I could certainly have engaged in more constructive dialog here before going there. I hope you enjoy editing WP and continue to participate. I am a strong advocate of adherence to policy. Interpretation and implementation of policy benefits from input from multiple editors. - - MrBill3 (talk) 13:40, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
I appreciate you following up on this and thank you for your feedback. I hope we can continue to work together to improve this article. I have to admit that I was taken aback when you took me to the edit war board, as I simply reverted additions you made with the same reasoning you gave in your edit summaries and on the talk page when GeorgeLouis added supporting quotes from sources in June. Nonetheless, I hope we can work together to improve this article, keeping in mind that it is a WP:BLP and that there are arguments both for and against Amen's approaches. Dmrwikiprof (talk) 17:13, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Per the discussion at the 3RR noticeboard, I've closed this with just a warning. Lord Roem ~ (talk) 19:04, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Daniel Amen shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. MrBill3 (talk) 15:23, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Daniel Amen may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hello Dmrwikiprof. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Dale Smith".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dale Smith}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 14:03, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of General Electric Co. v. Joiner

The article General Electric Co. v. Joiner has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced and fails WP:GNG.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Thank you for letting me know. I was actually in the middle of adding references when you marked the article for deletion, so the issue is resolved now! Thanks. Dmrwikiprof (talk) 15:47, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Cairns child killings vote

Should this have been in Talk:Cairns_child_killings#Poll_on_disputed_BLP_items (probably under "Should the article be included in "murder" categories?") instead of Talk:Cairns_child_killings#Suspect_and_mother? Mitch Ames (talk) 13:16, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "America: Imagine the World Without Her". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 24 January 2015.
