Hello Djrandybettis. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to you, your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Hairhorn (talk) 02:19, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November 2021[edit]

Hello, I see that another editor posted here ten years ago about conflicts of interests in editing. This is rather important. If you'd like changes made to the Randy Bettis article, the best way may be for you to post on the associated Talk page there, and request that someone else make those changes. I'll attach an automated message below which may also be helpful.

Please do not keep adding citations for content we don't actually need. I mean no disrespect, but things like huge lists of remixes are generally considered trivia here, and are not usually kept in Wikipedia articles. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 00:41, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Djrandybettis. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Randy Bettis, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 00:41, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
