Thanks

I appreciate the fixup you did to my talk page. Thanks for that :D James'ööders 06:59, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

My hidden subpage

The Original Barnstar
For finding my hidden page, this barnstar is for you. Nice detective work! The Utahraptor Talk 22:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! –dffgd 22:27, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
No problem. And I have a question. Were you tracking it down while I was setting it up? There's nothing wrong with that, I'm just wondering. The Utahraptor Talk 22:29, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I did the first one while you had that tag there. –dffgd 22:31, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
That's alright. The reason why I was wondering, is because you found it pretty quickly. Now I know why. The Utahraptor Talk 22:33, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, mainly all I had to do was figure out that riddle. It was a good one though! :) –dffgd 22:36, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Once again, nice job. You definitely deserve that barnstar. The Utahraptor Talk 22:37, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Typo in your template

Thank you very much <3 Snowolf How can I help? 19:01, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

User page improvements

Lately I've been thinking about making next month's main focus improving the user pages of those who need and/or want it. I was wondering if I could test this with your user page? In case you're interested, if you accept, I will develop your new user page in my second sandbox, and I'll ask you about it before I implement it into your user page. Also, if you had any requests on how I should redo it, I'll be willing to take those into consideration. So, what do you think? Can I give it a shot? If not, then that's alright. The Utahraptor Talk 23:27, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't mind if you use it for a test in your sandbox, and I've been thinking it needs improvements. –dffgd 00:08, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
I'll get to work immediately. Do you have anything specific you want done with your user page? Do you want something kept, such as the userboxes or vandal edits? Or do you have a background preference? Let me know if you have anything specific you would like me to add. The Utahraptor Talk 01:00, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, keep the userboxes & vandalism links. The userboxes could be under different titles, but preferably in those two groups (WP-related and other). Is it ok if I edit that sandbox page when you're working on it? –dffgd 01:37, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Sure, you can help me redesign your user page. The Utahraptor Talk 01:42, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
I've added your sandbox to my watchlist. –dffgd 12:19, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Please give the editor a chance to put the article together. The subject appears notable, yet you tagged it 3 min after creation. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:42, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

The author blanked the page, which qualifies for WP:G7. "If the sole author blanks a page other than a userspace page or category page, this can be taken as a deletion request." dffgd [messages·edits] 14:49, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
New users with only a handful of edits do that sort of thing. Guidelines strongly suggest that we give them a bit of time before tagging anything other than clear speedy cases. Looking at the history, the article was created, then 3 min later the editor blanked, then within 1 min you tagged it. That's a bit short. From my experience, wait and watch. 10 min later they usually have it sorted out. If not, then tag it. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:23, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Yay

I have a new huggle buddy. -Tommy! [message] 18:16, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

You didn't notice 'til now? :) dffgd [messages·edits] 18:18, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
I wanna see 30,000 edits TOMORROW. jk. ttyl -Tommy! [message] 18:23, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually...I've been using it for nearly a month. Besides, why else would my edit count be about 2,500 split mainly between main and user talk namespaces? :) dffgd [messages·edits] 18:33, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Parallel Mirror Paradox

Hello, I am the author of the Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Parallel Mirror Paradox page. I'm not sure how to represent a justification for a thought experiment. It stands on its own. Either it is explained properly or it isn't, but it does not get justified. I don't know how a thought experiment can be presented differently. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ashell2 (talkcontribs) 03:56, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome! I'd suggest having a read of Wikipedia's guidelines on Notability. If the article can't be supported by reliable, third-party sources, it doesn't really belong on Wikipedia. If you can provide verifiable sources for the information, that would go a long way to supporting your request for article creation. katherine_a (talk) 04:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) (edit conflict) Your article needs references to reliable third-party publications. Did you remember this from a textbook or something else? Also, this concept is to abstract for me. A simple diagram would help alot. Regards, Marcus Qwertyus (signs his posts) 04:16, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
By the way, you can use the template {{ec}} if you get an edit conflict. And thanks for the stalking...though I didn't know you were stalking here. :) dffgd [messages·edits] 12:36, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Help

I recently downloaded Huggle, but I'm having trouble with it. Whenever I click on a revision to view, instead of bringing it up, it removes it from the queue. Plus when I tried to revert a vandal edit it didn't work. What do I do? The Utahraptor Talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 13:41, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, I got it. The Utahraptor Talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 13:58, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict × 2) I just wrote a long detailed reply... so I'll say it anyway!
  • Well, as to the first problem...Huggle is slow sometimes. And on some big pages, it takes a long time to bring up the diff. It should remove it from the left box, though, because if you've already looked at it (or it thinks you have) you don't need to look at it again! As to the second problem, check the box at the bottom. When you first open Huggle, it should say "connecting to IRC, this may take a few moments" and then "connected to IRC" or something like that. When you select an action (e.g. revert an edit, warn a user, tag a page for speedy deletion) it will show up there. Say you press the "Revert" button (without the warning). It will say "Reverting [page name]" in red, then once the action is complete, "Edited [page name]: [edit summary]" in black, where the edit summary in that case is, of course, "Reverted edits by [reverted user] (talk) to last version by [previous user] (HG)". So if it says "Reverting [page name]" in red, you just have to wait. Again, Huggle can be annoyingly slow sometimes, yet I once beat ClueBot with it. Hope (since it took a while to write!) this helps. dffgd [messages·edits] 14:11, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

For your help on my user page, that will teach me to copy other people's stuff without scrutinising it carefully! Dougweller (talk) 18:56, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome! I actually found the mistake in User:Seaphoto/Vandalism, which was a copy of yours, which was a copy of someone else's. I fixed it there, and knew the mistake had been copied so went to yours. dffgd [messages·edits] 20:02, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

These warning messages are unappropriated

You guys have put a table that you are not maintaining... you are not constantly not putting in the result and half of it empty. This table in long run is useless... WIKIPEDIA IS NOT A BLOG. It is suppose indicates his MAJOR accomplishment, in a small list like ther on the Garry Kasparov or other high GM. Making huge diagram of all his tournament is completely inappropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:12, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Listing accomplishments isn't blogging, actually. The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 14:16, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
You didn't properly read wat i sayed... Quote : It is suppose indicates his MAJOR accomplishment, in a small list like ther on the Garry Kasparov or other high GM.
Also this is not listing it... It make a huge diagram of every tournament he played in... No other chess player has this and it make the article extremely long. In a year or two this is gonna be completely useless. Wikipedia form is for the long run not short term changes all the time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:19, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) (again) I did read what you said, and what's wrong with posting all of his tournaments? There is nothing wrong with it, in my opinion. The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 14:21, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
(again) I never sayed it was wrong, if it in a list format... Wat am saying is wrong is making a huge diagram that take up half of the whole article. And also only the major tournament should be include and above all it should be maintained. No one is taking care of it at all. It been blank for months and no one has added or fixed it. 70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:24, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Please don't start a content dispute on my talk page! The IP has started a section on the article's talk page, so go there if you want to comment on it. dffgd talk·edits 14:35, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I never wanted to start a content dispute, that's why I decided to back out before things could get ugly. I'll head over to the talk page and discuss this in a civil manner. The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 14:37, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) What did the warning message that I gave you say? "Remov[ing] content ... without explanation." You didn't use an edit summary at all. I probably wouldn't have reverted that if you had given an explanation, and definitely not given you that warning. Please use edit summaries, and don't talk in all caps as you did here. dffgd talk·edits 14:22, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually i did put an explaining, the first time i reverted it quote : Know one is uptading it or even taking care of it in anyway plus later on it just becomes dead weight you can place them in a list but not in this format it take to much place.
Ther two spelling error on the first four word No one is updating but it clearly understandable. But because the diagram was so big and took such a big part off of the article, the bot automatically reverted it. Witch i found was unfair so i undid wat the bot had done piece by piece then you came in.70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:41, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
Please continue this discussion on the article's talk page. The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 14:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
This part wasn't about Wesley So article it was about the warning message.70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I didn't revert that one. ClueBot, an automated bot, reverted it because you deleted a large number of characters. I reverted the others because they had no edit summaries and I hadn't seen the first. You could have put some kind of edit summary in there, at least one pointing back to the first edit summary so I could look! And please indent your posts properly. dffgd talk·edits 14:49, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
It would be completely waste of time to half to repost a summary if a bot revert something because of a technicality. I would expect little more professionalism form moderators, before you send a warning message look true the log and make sure it appropriate. Warning message aren't something you play around with 3 misunderstanding can lead to someone who hasn't done anything wrong to be banned form editing for a day or more. And that can be very frustrating if you haven't done anything to deserve it.70.51.13.36 (talk) 14:57, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
I have struck-through my warnings on your talk page, and disrupted the hidden tags so automated and semi-automated tools won't see you as having three warnings already, just one. I left the ClueBot warning because it's correct, you did remove enough characters for it to revert. You can remove it if you want, though, or even remove all the warnings. dffgd talk·edits 15:14, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Fresh motto coming your way

My motto to live by on Wikipedia...'I edit, therefore I am.'
'I spam, therefore I am.'
'I undo and warn, therefore I am.'
'I attack, therefore I am.'
'I rollback and block, therefore I am.'
'I sock, therefore I am.'
'I checkuser and indef, therefore I am.
'I weep, and therefore I am.'

Today's motto: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Don't forget to rate the motto! Kayau Voting IS evil 02:46, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Nice! :) I've added it to my header, which appears on my userpage header and my talk page header, replacing the previous {{User:Killeroid/MOTD}}. I'm not sure why the template is substituted, but since that's obviously in the instructions I've raised that at WT:MOTD/MS. (I've also rated it.) dffgd talk·edits 14:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Squirt

Thanks for reporting the vandalism on squirt - I've been reverting that stuff for days and was just about to find out how to report it earlier when I found out it had been locked. Spinoff 22:02, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

I think you're talking about Squirt (soft drink). As to that, I noticed in Huggle it happening several times. You can look a little back in the history in Huggle, and I saw it had happened even more before, so I requested it at WP:RFPP. If you need to request a protection in the future, just read the instructions at the top of RFPP. :) dffgd talk·edits 01:23, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Another barnstar

The Barnstar of Good Humor
This is like, what, the third or fourth barnstar I've given you? Well, at any rate, this barnstar is awarded to you for your links to funny vandalism. Nice job! Maybe I should expand my horizons and include many links in my user page instead of just one per day... The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 02:12, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
I actually got the idea from The Thing That Should Not Be, who has a (much larger) collection of funny edits (I see you've given him a Good Humor barnstar, too). My collection is growing, as I grab edits from my reverting and occasionally your userpage! :) Oh, and thanks for the barnstar! (Here I go talking about the vandalism collection, and I almost forget to say that!) dffgd talk·edits 02:38, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
You're welcome. I got the idea from The Thing, as well. The Raptor Let's talk/My mistakes; I mean, er, contributions 13:47, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
