Welcome to Wikipedia[edit]

Well, it looks like you didn't get a welcome from one of Wikipedia's numerous goodwill ambassadors. In times past, new users would get them within hours of signing up. Maybe they've cut back on doing that, or maybe somebody just missed you. HERE is the welcome I got when I signed up in 2006. Anyway, consider this your formal welcome to Wikipedia!

My research on capitalizing the "walk" in the article's title didn't yield anything clear-cut, so I posted this question on the Wikipedia Help Desk. Lou Sander (talk) 17:29, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that, within four minutes of my posting the question, somebody not only answered it, but made the change. In Wiki-lingo, changing an article's name is called "moving" it. It's nice that somebody else actually did the move, since that more or less says that you and I aren't trying to force our opinions, etc., into the article.
Speed like this is common in Wikipedia. If somebody vandalizes an article, it will probably be reverted within minutes or hours. Comments and other helpful stuff often happen just as quickly. It's pretty miraculous when you think about it. Lou Sander (talk) 17:44, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
