Information icon Hello, I'm Gadfium. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Bill Gallagher (businessman), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Add your citation to the talk page, as the article is currently protected against edits from newly-registered editors. -Gadfium (talk) 02:50, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your email. I suggest you start by posting on the article talk page explaining the significance of these titles, and how Gallagher qualifies for them. Lords in the Baronage of Scotland gives some background information, but not how a title is transferred. What rights do the titles give? Please include sources.-Gadfium (talk) 03:10, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Talk page is now empty?
May I ask why you have repeatedly removed this information? Why do you need to know what rights a title gives? There is no explanation of the "rights" for his KNZM or MBE; are you questioning the validity of those too?
The titles are, as they have always been, transferred via the assignation of the former holder.
The Dignity of the Lordship and Barony of Bothwell was registered in The Scottish Barony Register, Volume 5, Folios 118 on 10 August 2023.
The Dignity of the Lordship of Kildrummie was registered in The Scottish Barony Register, Volume 5, Folios 119 on 27 November 2023. DeanMc (talk) 04:21, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Information on Wikipedia should be sourced. This applies more strongly to articles on living people, per our WP:BLP policy. If an unsourced item is queried, then it must have a source. The Scottish Barony Register is not public, according to https://scottishbaronyregister.org/scottish-barony-titles, and it appears that titles are purchased. Why then, should an encylopedia include that someone has purchased a couple of titles which no public source cares to mention?-Gadfium (talk) 04:46, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
