Professors: thanks for your work on these articles. It may help you to keep track of the following:

  1. We do not title the article "Professor John Smith" , but rather "John Smith". If there are others of that name, we use "John Q. smith" or if necessary,

"John Quentin Smith" -- and then, if still needed, "John Quentin Smith" (chemist). -- use the name of the profession, not the name of the university.

  1. Things which count towards notability are editorship of journal, published books, multiple published papers (say how many if you can), honors, and academic appointments. Try to include them all.
  2. Include an external link to their official university web page. sometimes you will get birth date and place from their, and details of previous degrees.

Thanks for the pointer, in this case, just in Ireland alone, there are or have been at least three like-named prominent professors.DeBhoy (talk) 09:35, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
