The Walking Game

[edit]

Based on the two subsequent posts to my Talk Page, I conclude that you and 216.185.84.246 are one and the same. I can see that you two have been with us since 2 June, you and your mischievous editing.

Thank you for your note. You asked, "why are you so opposed to the page on 'the walking game'?" No I'm not. I made three posts to that page — they're quite easy to see and count — I've explained my vote on the first post and never added more to it. Note that I could have also remarked that they were User:Mcr345 and User:BettyBesser's first edit, too, but I didn't. When I said, "you guys twice disrupted me", I refer to the two vandalisms that User:Anr325 and User:Mcr345 made on my Talk Page. Note that I could have said this, too, to embarrass you guys, but I didn't. I never said the article was vandalism. I said, "Probably hoax by anon editor," — a point you guys have already defended.

Would you like me to withdraw my vote? I never insist, you know, there are hundreds of thousands of other articles, and I have a life, too. Again, thank you for your note. -- Perfecto Canada 15:19, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You asked on my talk page: "Why do you wish to delete the "the walking game" article from Wikipedia despite the fact that this article is perfectly legitimate and many people are interested in it?"

Wikipedia strives to be a place to list notable, verifiable information. The Walking Game appears to be a game invented by a handful of people, and as such, does not warrant an entry on Wikipedia. Nominating it on the featured article page was probably a really bad idea (from your perspective) as it might have gone unnoticed for some time otherwise. Also, your editing of the AfD page with unsigned comments and "votes" is certainly not going to win anyone over to your side. If you really want to keep the page around, I suggest you find some references about it (e.g. newspaper articles or something else that can prove its notability) and provide them in a polite way to the AfD page. I'll gladly change my vote if you can do so: I have nothing against the article itself, but it must meet Wikipedia standards. Turnstep 19:10, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My comment "Cry me a river," which upset you, was my reaction to the mawkish terms of the post that preceded it. As for the merits of the deletion debate, I agree with Turnstep's comment above. JamesMLane 02:40, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Walking Game

[edit]

Hello. I deleted the page because there was a "consensus" to delete it. Unfortunately for you, new accounts are not counted toward consensus. So I did what I was supposed to do. I have no opinion about notability of the subject of this article (though I have never heard of this game). If you have some serious references that support your claim that the game is notable, bring them to Wikipedia:Deletion Review.  Grue  19:42, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re The Walking Game

[edit]

This page has been deleted by consensus through AfD. Please do not recreate it: it will very quickly be deleted again. If you disagree with the deletion you are welcome to try and get it undeleted at votes for undeletion. Many thanks. -- Francs2000 02:00, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Front Row Center, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Front Row Center and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — Matt Eason (Talk • Contribs) 15:53, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Dburnsey43! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 683 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
