Hello Daytripper.

I've been looking for someone who might be able to do a few Youngstown things for me, so here is #1. Think it over. Perched high up on the Mahoning County Courthouse is a sculpture group. I am trying to discover the artist who did it. Maybe J Massey Rhind, maybe not. No one seems to know so what needs to be done is some interprising, over 18 year old needs to talk to the bulding superintendent or custodian or whatever and get up on the roof and see if the work is signed. Tell 'em Carptrash 16:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC) sent you and it will be okay. Life is supposed to be interested. PS I found you from your nice edit at Charles Niehaus.

Question for Daysleeper

Regarding Presidential callsigns, NOAA is also considered a uniformed service (see http://www.noaacorps.noaa.gov) and has an active air arm (http://www.aoc.noaa.gov/). The NOAA article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NOAA) has a link to a .PNG file for the NOAA seal. Perhaps NOAA One and a NOAA Two articles could round-out the series? Thanks. Please do not re-add Image:City seal.gif to {{User Youngstown}}. The image is tagged as a fair use image. As such, its use in a userbox is proscribed per terms of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. Thank you, --Durin 15:32, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I am looking for someone

in Youngstown, Ohio to help me out. I'm willing to trade time on any project of your choosing. You'll need access to a camera and a tripod and probably should take along bail money, just in case. Okay. I'm kidding about the bail $$$$$, but drop me a line if you are interested. Carptrash 15:54, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me. Even a "sorry, no" is so much better than nothing. I was interested to see that you'd done some work on Cardinal Mooney because I have pictures of his grave and coat-of-arms because they were both done by my man Corrado Parducci. Life is mysterious. Capitol Visitors Center article

Hi! I saw you updated the Capitol Vistiors Center article, changing the date of completion from Summer of 07 to Dec of 07. I was wondering where you got the information from. The most up to date that I could find was http://www.aoc.gov/cvc/project_info/index.cfm . thanks eric 03:18, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Glenn Browder article

I noticed you corrected the misspelling of his name and adjusted the articles accordingly. However, I would recommend that in the future, instead of a cut-and-paste move (which is what I think you did) you should have clicked the move button on top. This would have moved the entire article, and more importantly, the edit history/summary to the new page title. A redirect from the old article title would have automatically been generated.--G1076 14:14, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Note

A plagiarism-detector bot has indicated that, in July of this year, you copied the article on States Rights Gist from an external website. The article has been deleted, pending review. I sincerely hope that this was your only occasion of copying an article from an external site, otherwise disciplinary measures may be necessary. DS 03:52, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Okay, that's better. Your new version of the article was almost acceptable, and I remade it a little more. If you are aware of any other instances in which you may have violated the copyright of other websites, please either remedy them yourself (with an edit summary indicating that you had previously violated copyright), or let an administrator know so that we can handle it for you. Thanks for Adding Murder Counts to Esperanza

I have been trying to update the article as fast and as efficiently as I can. When I found out about Oyler's charges being official I straight away put it up. I greatly appreciate you adding the info about the specific counts Oyler's being charged for. Excellent work.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:54, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Gatorland

Are you sitting there watching the news and updating? That's what I was doing. It's really sad that the fire is the biggest thing on this page. Have fun with it, I'm going to class and can't keep up with the news for the next several hours.--Farquaadhnchmn 14:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Article on the Mace in the US House of Representatives

Daysleeper,

I see you are a person of some reknown inside and outside Wikipedia, which surprises me. I just left a note on the article on the Mace in the House of Representatives that it's been largely copied--plagiarized--from C-Span. I thought that was against Wikipedia's rules as well as US copyright laws as well as common moral standards.

If I'm mistaken here, please inform me. I'm only against wrong, not against you personally.

Yopienso

I'm having trouble signing this with the four tildes and am trying again. I've meanwhile noticed that a few days ago someone else (DS) called you on copying a different article. Yopienso 04:42, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank you for the Youngstown Wiki invite. Keep me informed of any area I can assist and research for building a great Youngstown site. --Progohio 14:41, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Re. Mace article response

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Daysleeper! I'm not real savvy about how everything on Wikipedia works. It looks to me that you were the one who contributed the Mace article. Am I mistaken? How can you tell who originally posted/wrote/contributed an article? Isn't it the first person listed on "History?"

Oh, yes! I'm right..and wrong. You're on talk history, not article history.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, and thank you for your patience.

So, now....,is it OK that Auasr copied and pasted from C-Span? I have found a GREAT DEAL of unattributed copying and pasting in Wikipedia. Yopienso 21:18, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Editing

Hello,

Given the recent attacks on Ed Bradley's article, isn't it time to seriously revisit the subject of limiting edits to registered Users?

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Ursuline High School, Youngstown article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I irrevocably release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, for use on Wikipedia and elsewhere."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Quarma 16:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
