Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button 
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:42, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to this wonderful encyclopedia, Datakid1! I've been an editor for a while, and I just thought I'd say hi. This is a really great project, and I hope you'll stay! To get you started off on the right foot, I have a few small suggestions of places to check out:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia, our most basic guidelines on how to edit and interact with other editors
- The Manual of Style, some quick pointers on the basic quality standards Wikipedia Articles have
- How to edit an article, a great starting read
- Wikilove, the easiest (and most fun) way to make friends on the 'pedia
- The Sandbox, a place to try editing without actually editing an article
- Finally, my favorite, the Ignore All Rules policy (but ignore them within reason, of course)
- Oh yes, and remember to sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)!
If you need any help at all with anything, don't be afraid to ask me. You can either ask me on my talkpage, or type "{{helpme}}" right onto your talkpage and then ask your question.
Spam[edit]
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject New Zealand. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject New Zealand. Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as the edit you made to Support vector machine. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Talk:Microsoft Excel, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.
