Source for edit to English Football League[edit]

Hi, what's your source for the 146 team figure you added to English Football League with this edit? Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 15:19, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have looked at other articles on Wikipedia relating to former members of the EFL. If you add this number to the 92 current members of the EFL and premier league it totals 147. If you discount Wimbledon as carrying the same lineage as the current AFC Wimbledon this is 146. The only further confusion is Gateshead and South Shields as teams under both names competed in the EFL however in some circles these are considered the same team rebranded. There are also two teams to have been called Chesterfield which could also be considered separate entities. If you were to consider these as one along with Gateshead and South Shields the total would be 144. Dannygee1365 (talk) 08:49, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
