License tagging for File:Parker-Manufacturing-Plant.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Parker-Manufacturing-Plant.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

I have just removed the unnecessary blank links that you inserted between the paragraphs in this article. Per WP:LAYOUT only one blank line is required between paragraphs and between sections. I also removed the redirect (left over from the page move) from your user page to the article - user pages should not redirect to mainspace. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 14:56, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

The article Charlene Parker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Individual is not notable and initial contributor (husband) confirms heavy bias in creating and sourcing the article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

[edit]Hi. In John Trull, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Concord (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi, I left this comment on the article's talk page:
- The article states Camp Grohn was built by U.S. forces, but the Jacobs University site mentions the first construction was in 1936 and was part of what the Germans called Flak-Kaserne. Photos of the original Flak-Kaserne and Camp Grohn look very similar. I think the German casern was taken over for use as a D.P. camp and then for use of U.S. forces until the late 1950's when it was turned over to the West German Army and called Roland Kaserne. The West German Army used this facility as a logistics training facility before it was finally inactivated and became the current university.
Looks like you wrote this article; do you have any information that could answer my question? Thanks, W. B. Wilson (talk) 10:54, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- Follow up. Found more information, including photographs of Grohn before WWII. Edited the article a bit. W. B. Wilson (talk) 15:00, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
Better source request for File:Camp Grohn.JPG
[edit]Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:
You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:21, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks for jumping into the Military Production in World War 2 page. I've been updating this for about a month. There were a lot of gaps. There still are. There is little if any reference to original sources, and a lot of missing detail. Are you planning to make a habit of contributing? Can we coordinate the effort?

[edit]Thank you for your suggestions on Military production during World War II. Bender235deleted over 3 months and 300 hours of my work, 40,000 characters of edits, and hundreds of constructive additions to the page. I am in the midst of uploading an enormous amount of PRIMARY SOURCE DATA and he deleted everything done so far as "wikipedia can not be a source for itself". I am enraged. There was not one comment, warning, question, request, or suggestion from this "editor". Can you please help me reverse all the deletions and keep this guy off the page. There are ongoing constructive edits from several other individuals watching this site. Please help resolve this. --Brukner (talk) 18:49, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Best, Gerald M. - Olomana.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Best, Gerald M. - Olomana.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from History of Ohio into Ohio. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 13:48, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

@Bruxton: Thank you for reviewing the page I created on Charles Marsh. I appreciate it. Most of the references are newspaper articles, and they are accessible on-line at newspapers.com. However, newspapers.com is a subscription service, so there is a fee.
The references I cited from the collection of the Nevada County Historical Society are paper records, not digital. They have them in their files, but access to them would either have to be in person, or by mail or email.
The book manuscript I cited has an anticipated publication date of spring 2023. When the book comes out, I will update the citations, and include the ISBN number.
Thanks again,

- Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at D & RG Narrow Gauge Trestle, you may be blocked from editing. Text self-plagiarized from text in Rio Grande 223 article with arbitrary tangent about railroad's general history
--Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 04:04, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Rio Grande 268. Same self-plagiarized text of fluff words from Rio Grande 223 and D & RG Narrow Gauge Trestle articles previously mentioned
--Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 04:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- You accuse me of "deliberately introducing incorrect information" and "vandalizing" Wikipedia. That charge is complete nonsense.
- You state that if I believe the information I added was correct I should "cite references or sources." Yet, that is precisely what I did. I included citations for every single paragraph that I wrote.
- You apparently think that my sources are incorrect, but you offer nothing to refute them.
- Instead of offering ANYTHING to contradict ANY of the 11 sources I cited, you simply deleted the entire seven paragraphs that I wrote on the "Rio Grande 223" article (and you made the same sweeping deletion on the D&RG Narrow Gauge Trestle article).
- Your actions are completely unreasonable and without any scholarly basis. DTParker1000 (talk) 04:36, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Removed paragraphs were self-plagiarism of text in Rio Grande 268 article, with noticeable errors in citation quality, generalization, broad claims and weasel words. In addition removed images in the Rio Grande 223 article included copyrighted Otto Perry photos owned by the Denver Public Library collection, and further copyrighted material has been noted as having been uploaded from the Otto Perry collection to other pages. For further discussion please discuss with fellow WikiProject Trains editors at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains under the Administrator Request: Protected Status for Rio Grande 223 tab. Xboxtravis7992 (talk) 04:47, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Your removed my text because of "self-plagiarism?" There is no such thing as "self-plagiarism." I'll buy you a dictionary if you like. Plagiarism is taking and using the work of another and passing it off as one's own.
- In other words, you are removing my text because I failed to give credit to myself for writing it.
- Sheesh. What nonsense.
- You accuse me of making "noticeable errors in citation quality, generalization, broad claims and weasel words." Yet, you offer no examples whatsoever.
- Speaking of broad claims and generalizations.
- I, on the other hand, provided citations for everything I wrote. Perhaps you could learn from that.
- Now you go on to start deleting pictures I provided claiming copyright infringement. If the photo is old enough, it CAN'T be copyrighted. Just because it is posted someplace and with the word "copyright" attached to it doesn't make it valid. This is made clear on the Wikimedia Commons pages. Your request for arbitration
[edit]In response to your request for arbitration, the Arbitration Committee has decided that arbitration is not required at this stage. Arbitration on Wikipedia is a lengthy, complicated process that involves the unilateral adjudication of a dispute by an elected committee. Although the Committee's decisions can be useful to certain disputes, in many cases the actual process of arbitration is unenjoyable and time-consuming. Moreover, for most disputes the community maintains an effective set of mechanisms for reaching a compromise or resolving a grievance.
In all cases, you should review Wikipedia:Dispute resolution to learn more about resolving disputes on Wikipedia. The English Wikipedia community has many venues for resolving disputes and grievances, and it is important to explore them instead of requesting arbitration in the first instance. For more information on the process of arbitration, please see the Arbitration Policy and the Guide to Arbitration. I hope this advice is useful, and please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of the community if you have more questions. firefly ( t · c ) 15:08, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I am not familiar with Wikipedia’s procedures, but I would appreciate it if you would reconsider arbitration in this case. I don’t have much hope that it will be resolved properly otherwise.
- It has been discussed at length, under two different headings, on the Rio Grande 223 Talk Page (“Viability of Source Material” and “Edit Dispute”).
- It has also been discussed on the Teahouse page (under “Rio Grande 223 Editing Advice”).
- It has also been the subject of Xboxtravis7992’s Administrator Request for Protected Status for Rio Grande 223 (Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains).
- About two weeks ago, I submitted a request for mediation on the Wikipedia Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. I have not had a response.
- About a week ago, I sent a message to TransporterMan, who is a Wikipedia volunteer mediator. I have not had a response.
- If there is something else I should be doing, please let me know specifically what it is (preferably with a link to the appropriate form).
- The Issue:
- The dispute on the “Rio Grande 223” article boils down to one thing: Should the article include a section on the locomotive’s historical significance, or not?
- I feel that it should. Xboxtravis7992 does not.
- There is an underlying issue here that you should be aware of. The engine is likely to be restored in the near future, and there are differences of opinion on how it should be configured. It was built in 1881, but as parts wore out over the engine’s long life, they got replaced with more modern parts. So, now the question becomes: Should it be restored to its appearance in the 1800s, or its 20th-century appearance?
- Why does this matter? It shouldn’t, but unfortunately, it does. It leads to passionate debate in the railfan community. One of the points in favor of backdating some elements of the engine to its 1800s appearance is that the 1800s were the most significant time period in the engine’s life.
- Xboxtravis7992 wants the engine restored to its 20th-century appearance, and as a result does not want to admit that its historical significance was in the 1800s. His editing of the Wikipedia article reflects this.
- The content of the Wikipedia article should be edited solely on its historical accuracy and encyclopedic importance. Editing should not be colored by a restoration debate on the engine that is best left for some other forum.
- History of the Dispute:
- The “Rio Grande 233” article is 20 paragraphs long, and goes into rather intricate detail on the engine’s mechanical history and operational history (much of which Xboxtravis7992 wrote). I added a 6-paragraph section on the historical significance of the engine, which I thought was reasonable.
- Xboxtravis7992 erased the entire section, claiming it was "fluff."
- He has done this 7 times now (on Feb. 16, Feb. 28, Mar. 9, Mar. 13, Mar. 20, Mar. 24 and Apr. 1).
- He has come up with a variety of criticisms (such as lack of adequate in-line citations) and then uses that as a pretext to erase the entire section. This is not impartial editing. It is editing with an agenda.
- I have responded to his criticisms, as well as the comments of other editors on the Talk page, by adding additional citations to the article, modifying the text, and shortening the section to 4 paragraphs. Some of the other editors have made modifications to the text as well, in an effort to resolve the dispute.
- However, none of this is satisfactory to Xboxtravis7992. He has again eliminated the entire section, with the exception of half of one sentence. He even erased what was written by the other editors.
- And, he has also eliminated all of the historic photographs in the article.
- This is not a compromise.
- My request:
- Please review how the “Rio Grande 223” article stood after my revision dated 16:13, March 25, 2024, and compare that with how it stands today.
- I think you will agree that the section I wrote on the historical significance of the engine, and the historical photographs in the article, are relevant, accurate and helpful to the reader.
- Thank you so much for your assistance on this matter. DTParker1000 (talk) 21:02, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have made a request on the "Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard" to resolve the editing dispute on the "Rio Grande 223" article. I look forward to the results of this. Please unblock my editing privileges so that this process can proceed. Thank you. DTParker1000 (talk) 00:50, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You are only blocked on the article page. You can still use the article talk page to work on the dispute. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 04:46, 7 April 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
You need to move on from this tempest-in-a-teapot of a dispute. You've asked on the talk page, you've asked at WP:DRN, and you've now filed two ArbCom cases that are malformed and without merit. It isn't worth it. I'd ask that you volutarily agree to a topic ban from discussing Rio Grande 223. Does that sound reasonable to you? Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 00:48, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
I concur with Just Step Sideways. Frankly, this is ridiculous. You got blocked from editing Rio Grande 223 because of your behavior. You disappear from the talk page of the article, and have been gone from it for near 2 months. You file a DRN in early April that gets declined, noting that you are editing against consensus. You file an arbitration request that gets declined as well. You briefly come back in May for two unrelated edits then vanish again. When you reappear after being gone a month, your very first action is ...another arbitration request that is going to get rejected. You are dancing very, very close to being a disruptive editor who can't drop the stick and walk away. There is no winning or losing in Wikipedia. Sometimes things don't go your way. We're a community effort project. If the community doesn't agree with you, your plan of action shouldn't be to repeatedly file DRNs and RFARs in the hope that someone will agree with you. If you can't accept the community's wishes being against yours, maybe Wikipedia isn't the place for you. You should have gotten the point when you were blocked from editing the article. Therefore...
If you persist in refusing to accept the outcome of the discussion at Talk:Rio Grande 223, file another DRN or RFAR on the same issue, or otherwise refuse to drop the stick, it will be dropped for you either by a topic ban or a site wide block of your editing privileges. This is a final warning. I hope I've been clear. If I haven't then by all means ask. If you persist as you have been, this will end poorly for you. Don't throw 14 years of editing out the window. I strongly recommend you choose wisely if you intend on continuing to edit here.--Hammersoft (talk) 03:20, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Why did you do this? I reverted your edit because you made it to a user's page, not their talk page. Even if you had made it to a user talk page, you didn't sign it. But the main thing here is...WHY ARE YOU NOT DROPPING IT? Was I unclear somehow in the above? DROP THIS and move on. You are risking an indefinite block. --Hammersoft (talk) 12:33, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- I was trying to follow Wikipedia instructions. I was told that if I have a complaint about another editor that I am supposed to notify him. That's what I was attempting to do.
- It was not my intention to annoy you. I was trying to avoid being accused of not complying with Wikipedia procedures.
- Unless I hear from you again, or another administrator, I have no intention of communicating on this topic again. DTParker1000 (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2024 (UTC)
- (I'm guessing you meant to place this reply in this section, not the onE below. I've moved it here. If this is incorrect, feel free to move it back)
- Xboxtravis7992 already received a notice a day earlier than yours at User_talk:Xboxtravis7992#Arbitration_case_request. Further, Xboxtravis7992 had already responded at the request for arbitration at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#Statement_by_Xboxtravis7992. Your attempted notification was wholly unnecessary, out of place, and not signed. Further, being that it was out of place, a different view of it ([1]) could have a visitor construe that it was intended to make it sound as if it was Xboxtravis7992 who filed the appeal, and not you. Please, just stop. I think it highly likely your request at arbitration will be declined as premature. The ongoing thread at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:DTParker1000's_tendentious_editing_of_Rio_Grande_223 is likely to conclude without further action... IF you drop the stick and walk away from this. You say you are going to. I truly hope that is the case. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:55, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

Topic ban
[edit]Hey there. I have closed Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Proposed topic ban for DTParker1000 as consensus to topic ban you. The exact topic ban is:
DTParker1000 is indefinitely topic banned from Rio Grande 223. This applies everywhere on Wikipedia and explicitly includes all dispute resolution venues but excludes minimal mentions when required for context in discussions of their (DTParker1000's) conduct and appeals of this topic ban.
This ban may be enforced by escalating blocks. It may be appealed after six months of active editing since enactment or the most recent unsuccessful appeal.
The intent of "six months of active editing" is so that extended absences don't count towards the six months, it is not a requirement for six consecutive months of active editing.
Please familiarize yourself with WP:TOPICBAN so that you do not accidentally violate it. Topic ban violations are likely to lead to blocks. Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 12:36, 2 July 2024 (UTC)
