wikiviewstats access

Have you got the access to the tool in the subject? I really hope that you can help to make it run again. --Andyrom75 (talk) 08:39, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Xtools status

It seems to be down again, if one of you can give it another "nudge". Thanks much. —Patrug (talk) 09:50, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Precious again

power to support
Thank you, editor with the powers of passion and "helpful friends" and your technical knowledge for Cyberbot and templates, for account creations, fighting vandalism, closing deletion discussions and cleaning up after bots, for supporting editors and naming disruption, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

counter down again

here we go again:

Internal error
The URI you have requested, /xtools/pcount/?user=Mattwheatley&project=en.wikipedia.org, appears to be non-functional at this time.

I see from talk pages on other Wikimedia projects that the issues with this counter/these counters has been going on now for nearly a year. These tools are not 'fun' gadgets and are essential to the smooth running of the project. It's really time now to pass the buck to the WMF and get their top directors to instruct their devs to do something about it. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk)

  • I just restarted it again... Kudpung, I just got added as a maintainer, give me a little time and I'll find and debug.  :) — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 13:21, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Though, even after fixing this bug, if possible, we should move it to a new instance on labs where we can control our resources.—cyberpower ChatLimited Access 14:11, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
    • That might not be that hard. Did I mention that I'm taking CIS221: Operating Systems: UNIX (Spring 2015) this semester at UMA? So, I should be able to learn how to move it to our own instance. :) — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 14:32, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
My email is full of comments about the poor state of Labs. There comes a time, Technical 13, when however good the volunteers' programming skills are (and possible better than those of the WMF), these issues should be loudly dropped in front of the Foundation's door insisting that they get on with it. They are so busy handing out fellowship money for lost causes and developing unwanted MedWiki features that they have no excuses for not clearing up the mess left after the migration from ToolServer to labs. As I have said before, I can probably exert some influence, but I would need your backing rather than you all continuing to insist that you want to do it all yourselves. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:17, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
My fear is that the end result is we lose control of the tools to the foundation. If that happens, then we will deal with the same drama that happened when they killed OBoD. The foundation devs have a talent for defying consensus. That's why I'm hesitant here.—cyberpower ChatLimited Access 03:21, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

Adminstats source

Hi! Mind you share with me the code for the adminstats bot? And read access to a production instance so I can see how you set it up? You might be fine with generally chmoding everything open to read by tool labs users and chmodding private files private. Just a suggestion. Cheers, --L235 (talk) Ping when replying 05:39, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

No thanks. The source code is on GitHub though.—cyberpowerChat:Offline 06:00, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Restarted—cyberpowerChat:Online 01:12, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
  • I try to restart it every 8-12 hours. I usually do a restart right before I go to bed and then another one in the morning when I get up and one in the middle of the afternoon. So, if it is locked up, be patient and it will be restarted within a few hours. :) Still working on the Logger.php script to trace the variables and see what variable isn't being passed as expected causing a failed database request and leaving an open connection causing a memory leak and ultimately the tool locking up. Hope to get that done soonish™. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 01:27, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
    • Another option is to use a cron job to periodically check if it's up, and restart it if needed. Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 06:57, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Best of luck debugging the memory leak, and thanks for the frequent re-starting. For the last few days, I've had good success with the xtools edit counter "ec", but not with the article contributor tool "articleinfo". Thanks if you can also keep this one nudged & running. —Patrug (talk) 18:42, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi, In this tool you need to fix this dead tool link : https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikiviewstats/ and replace it by https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikiviewstats2/ (the only difference is the "2" at the end of the address). --Loup Solitaire 81 (talk) 11:57, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Reporting Revert Error

Hello Cyberpower678. It appears that you have been erroneous in reverting an edit to Wikipedia:Suggested_sources, where you may have mistaken an edit for vandalism or identified it as nonconstructive.

Below you will find information regarding this revision:
  • Edit Made: here
  • Description of edit: I misplaced a request for deletion in AFD, when it should have been in MFD. I placed a request for speedy deletion at the AFD discussion and undid all of my AFD template edits, replacing them with the MFD templates and initiating the MFD discussion. However, Cyberbot I came in and reverted my corrections. Please call off the bot!

Login broken on xtools

Hi Cyberpower678. The login feature stopped working on the xtools when some of them were moved. When I visit xtools/echo and click 'log in', the error "The ini file could not be read" is shown after the redirect. This breaks the echo tool, which is one my favourites. :) —Pathoschild 18:28, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Cyber & Tech, thanks for your diligent efforts to keep xtools running. Edit-counter "ec" seems to be working much more reliably (apart from the curious misspelling "Artikel" in the sections for Namespace totals & Top edited pages). On the other hand, "articleinfo" & "xtools-articleinfo" have failed consistently, both the old & new versions, as I've tried to use them a couple times per day over the past week. Great if you're able to get it running again soon. Many thanks. —Patrug (talk) 07:09, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Strange indeed. Out here, it's not working at all: The tool is consistently taking 1 or 2 full minutes to respond, and then returns a blank output report ("No revisions found"). —Patrug (talk) 01:43, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

It suddenly started working again, so I took the welcome opportunity to run my full backlog of article queries from the past week — whew! If it gets stuck again, I'll save some screen-shots to show you what's happening. Thanks again for the help. One small bug that's hopefully easy to fix: In the "Top editors" section of the output report, the Average time between edits (atbe) is being miscalculated. The calculation needs to be (Latest edit - First edit)/(# - 1), not /#. The error is most apparent when #=2. —Patrug (talk) 09:32, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
Try purging your cache. It could be that. It never stopped working on my end. I'll also have that fixed when we get to fixing the stability issue on the tool.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 14:44, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

Bad re-directs for xtools-articleinfo

Hi, Cyber. Over the past week, xtools-articleinfo was working very well for me — but now for every article that I try, the URL ends up re-directing to a blank output report at "http://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools-articleinfo/index.php?en&h" — can you fix? Thanks much. —Patrug (talk) 07:11, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Cyber & Tech, thanks for the quick fix. Parsing = signs in article titles

I made this change and this change, otherwise the template:book report will parse this incorrectly. similar changes for Book:Nineteen Eighty-Four. another fix would be if the bot used |1 = Genius + Soul = Jazz|2 = Genius + Soul = Jazz. same for Book talk:IBA Official Cocktails where the = are inside URLs. Image reproduction request

Hi, cyberpower678,

I am a Brazilian researcher working on the field of social studies of science and technology. I've just finished my PhD thesis about the global warming controversy in Portuguese Wikipedia. More about it here:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Science_Controversies_in_Portuguese_Wikipedia:_The_Case_of_Global_Warming

I'd like to reproduce in my thesis a couple of graphs generated by the Page history tool with statistics from the revision history of articles on global warming.

I didn't find any information about the license applying to those graphs. Are them under a Creative Commons license? In case they aren't, are you the one I should ask the authorization to reproduce them?

Thank you very much in advance for your answer.

Pokemon S17 and S18

Hey, unfortunately Ryulong's been blocked. Do you have any ideas on how we should split these seasons? They both have the same sub-title—"The Series XY"—but I'm drawing up a blank. —KirtZMessage 13:37, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

I do, but I want to try it first.—cyberpowerChat:Online 15:05, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
Could you try fixing the mess that Jabrona made to the pages? We may need a hist-merge if moving back to the regular XY page. There wasn't any consensus on a naming convention and what he calls it apparently only makes sense to him. —KirtZMessage 08:53, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
 DonecyberpowerChat:Online 15:46, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

POKEMON XY

Excuse me but move mess? I'm sorry but there was nothing "messy" about what I did to handle Seasons 17 and 18. It's rather fitting and should stay. Read my entire discussion with Cyphoidbomb on his page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Cyphoidbomb and you'll understand. He isn't quite familiar with the show so I cleared him up on things. Seems like you aren't either so my words here should help convince you why my edits are actually reasonable in this case to be able to make separate pages here. - Jabrona (talk) 01:34, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

I'm a quite a Pokemon fan, and I still found them unreasonable. 2 reasons why. 1st, we names pages based on the name of the season, so the episodes stay on the same page and get split into different sections. 2nd, there was no consensus. These kinds of moves need to be discussed first. This is why I reverted the move, and you left quite a mess for me to undo.—cyberpowerChat:Online 01:38, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
You shouldn't have found them unreasonable. Sure, I probably should have started a discussion about this first but people were having trouble trying to separate the two and I just felt the need to jump in immediately and do something that I felt everyone would like and it makes sense. Both seasons have the same title and the fact that they're different seasons show they should have separate pages. You can't get a "Season 18" table by itself on the main page if it's on the same page as Season 17. I was only trying to be helpful and did was perhaps the best idea to handle this two by having a Season 1 and 2 label of XY and you just throw trash at me. I should probably cut myself over this. Thanks for hurting my feelings! - Jabrona (talk) 01:47, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
I'm not criticizing you. It's important to be bold on Wikipedia, but this was a little too bold. I'm not doing this to trash you, but because there is no consensus. WP:BRD explains it pretty well. You were bold, I reverted, now it's time to discuss before re-implementing this decision.—cyberpowerChat:Online 01:50, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Fine, I'll start a discussion and I hope I get support for it. - Jabrona (talk) 01:55, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
I have no objections to that. I will happily change it back if and when it gets support. :-)—cyberpowerChat:Online 01:58, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I just posted the discussion section. Now I just have to wait for replies. - Jabrona (talk) 02:13, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Phileas bus bancrupcy

Hi, the Philias-firm has gone broke.

See http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phileas_(OV) "Op 25 november 2014, precies 10 jaar na introductie, is de bouwer van de Phileas failliet verklaard." Which could be translated as "On November 25th 2014, exactly 10 years after it's introduction, the Philias constructor has been declared bankrupt."

+ two sources in footnote on the above page.

A bus is a bus, and naver a tram. No matter for how much money you pimp it. ;-)

It's a petty vandal, not a misbehaving good-faith user, so a mildly silly block message shouldn't be a problem. He can check his block log, or he can even educate himself by looking up how long that is. I decided to do something different; when blocking vandals in the past, my {{uw-block}} messages have often expressed the block duration in Planck times. Nyttend (talk) 15:25, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

LOL—cyberpowerChat:Online 15:26, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
See the final section of Wikipedia:Reference desk/Archives/Mathematics/2012 March 13. Of course I'm careful to give a simple block rationale to misbehaving good-faith and potentially good-faith users (e.g. I block you for edit-warring, or for general disruption), but with people like this IP address I wouldn't bother leaving a block message if it weren't basically required, so I figure I might as well give an accurate-although-obscure message. Bug with Cyberbot I creating Book talk: pages

Cyberpower678,

I'd like to bring to your attention an issue/bug that Cyberbot I seems to have when creating/updating pages in the "Book talk:" namespace. I recently ran across a page that Cyberbot I had created: Book talk:War Book talk: Volume 1. The parent page's name is Book:War Book: Volume 1, not Book:War Book talk: Volume 1. (I have since moved that talk page to Book talk:War Book: Volume 1 so that it matches its parent page.) If I had to guess, this bug happened because Cyberbot I's code is set up to change all instances of "Book:" in a title to "Book talk:" prior to creating the talk page, since it seemingly happened here since "Book:" was replaced with "Book talk:" twice, creating the incorrect talk page title. Steel1943 (talk) 20:19, 10 February 2015 (UTC)

  • It's not a Cyberbot I specific issue Steel1943, and I am fairly certain it is out of scope for CP678 to fix. There is already a Phab ticket on the issue and it is posted on VPT IIRC. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 20:42, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Looks like Cyberbot I has created the page again. Seriously, I do not believe that this is related to the above bug. I'm going to tag it for deletion again, but if it gets created yet again after being deleted, I may have to take this to the bot notice board until a resolution is found. Steel1943 (talk) 18:52, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
Just ignore it until I get a chance to fix it.—cyberpowerBe my Valentine:Limited Access 20:55, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
Or better yet, redirect it. The bot should follow the redirect.—cyberpowerBe my Valentine:Limited Access 20:56, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Steel1943 how could you not think it is part of that phab ticket when it is explicitly listed in the table in Phab:T87645#1008438? — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 21:10, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • @Technical 13: Because I'm not seeing the specific issue that is referenced in that bug (pages showing up in two namespaces) happening with this page. What I am specifically seeing is a bot that is just changing all instances of "Book:" to "Book talk:" in a title, as I mentioned above. Also, Cyberpower678, I will do that and mark it with a {{G8-exempt}} so that it doesn't get deleted until the bot issue gets resolved. Steel1943 (talk) 22:09, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • I loaded a fix into the bot. This should fix the naming issue.—cyberpowerBe my Valentine:Online 20:18, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Thanks! I'll go ahead and tag the innacurrate page for speedy deletion. I'll monitor the page after it gets deleted to see if it gets recreated. Steel1943 (talk) 22:12, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Is the bot awake?

It doesn't seem to be catching updates to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/SarekOfVulcan 4. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 20:40, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Now it is, thanks! --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 02:48, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
I didn't do a thing, but thank you. :-)—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 17:36, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Tag added by User Analysis Tool [1.0]

Hi, I've noticed that User Analysis Tool [1.0] added a tag at Special:Tags with only two old hits. I was wondering if it was still needed and if not, whether you could un-define the tag so that it can be deleted ? Thanks, Cenarium (talk) 23:52, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

I'd rather keep it active for a future release I would like to implement at some point. Also I have no clue how tags work, just what they are for.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 14:16, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
It seems that the OAuth extension permanently defines the tag associated to the app, so they always remain present when applied at least once. Nothing can be done for now it seems, I'll file a bug on this. Cenarium (talk) 14:59, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
I still want to keep the tag.—cyberpowerChat:Online 15:42, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Bot's language is insulting, inaccurate, and should be corrected

I refer to this edit. I am merely in the process. Not as quick as a bot. Working my way painfully through the manual steps of a multi-afd is annoying enough, without some bot judging me. Gimme a break! --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 19:40, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

It takes you more than 14 minutes to transclude a page? Twinkle does this for you automatically. The bot does wait before stepping in, which was in this case 14 minutes after the page was created. And, bots don't judge either. I don't see anything wrong with it's language, and what it did was accurately described in the comment it left. Nothing needing correction here.—cyberpowerChat:Online 19:53, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Yes, there were directions to be followed, and corrections to be made, and I'm not a Twinkler, and it did not happen instantaneously. If the bot did not do anything wrong, then why wait at all before stepping in? And if you are going to adopt this attitude that tone does not matter, that you and your bot are simply stating the facts, then why be so verbose? Why can't you just excise the stricken language?:
"This AfD was not correctly transcluded to the log (step 3). I have transcluded it to..."
--Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 21:43, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
It serves as a message to those who don't know the process very well. I feel I had a discussion regarding this message before. The bot corrects people's mistakes, when they forget, or don't know about it.—cyberpowerChat:Online 23:45, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
But I did know the process, I had just not reached the magical step 3 yet--so what? You and your bot are too impatient to wait--cool, get in there, "transclude" your brains out. Leave a jerky notice in the process? Not cool. Please change the language to not be insulting, or have the bot leave me and my edits alone. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 00:34, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
The message is not insulting from my viewpoint, nor am I inclined to program a specific catch to leave all the AfD's you create alone. Now I remember, you complained a while ago about the exact same message using "jargon", transclude.—cyberpowerChat:Online 00:44, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

RFUBot

Hi--the table in CAT:RFUB hasn't been updated in a bit, and is saying to notify you. Thanks, Origamite 00:19, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

It says the table was updated 16 minutes ago. It might have been the crossover to a new day for the server, tripping the message. It does go away when the bot keeps updating the page. :-)—cyberpowerChat:Online 00:46, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Tool

Moin, I´m Bürocrat in dewiki. We use your Tool for our AKs. Is it possible to add Oversight for example [this] and Checkuser candidacys? Thanks, regards --Itti (talk) 20:27, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Time of the bot

Samwalton9 semi-protects here at 19:01. Then 24 minutes later, at 19:25, the bot says it is not protected. Is the bot not looking at the talk page and thinks the article is not protected? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 02:47, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Could be a bad API response. It could also be related to the namespace bug in the MW software.—cyberpowerChat:Online 02:49, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
OK thanks. I'll tag the RFPP page again and see if the bot clears it. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 03:08, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

X! Edit counter - Wrong label for Italian main namespace

Hello! I found your name in X! Tool page. I hope this is the correct page - if not - I'm sorry, do not consider this message!

Edit Counter tool shows wrong label for the main namespace of all Italian wikis (in all languages): itwikiquote translated into Italian / itwikiquote translated into English. Can you help me please!

Thanks in advance. --FRacco (talk) 02:15, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

The tool needs fixing. It is a known issue. Our first priority is getting it up and running in it's own location on labs.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 03:53, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Oauth/Echo thingy

Whatever you call it, it hasn't been working for a while. When you log in, it displays an error. Do you know what the problem is? Thanks, --AmaryllisGardener talk 02:37, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Unfortunately no, because it seems to be working fine for me atm.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access
Hmm, when I click "Log in", and then click "Allow", it returns me to the edit counter with "wt::getUserInfo is not a valid wiki". --AmaryllisGardener talk 03:57, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
Oh that. You're actually logged in, but the edit counter and article info have an unfixable bug that makes it think that it's not. Just click XEcho.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 03:59, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
Oh, now I see. Thanks! :) --AmaryllisGardener talk 04:00, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikipe-tan variation as a vandal fighter

Hi!

I have done a little drawing of wikipe-tan as a vandal fighter; in case it's not totally bad, where should I present it? Sorry to bother you with such a thing, I just thought it would cheer up the CVU unit :)

--Sim0 (talk) 22:52, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Hey could you give the Romaji of this season a check for errors? For instance, 866 might be off. Thanks. —KirtZMessage 05:38, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

I have no experience with that. As a matter of fact, I don't even know how you do it. Sorry.  :-(—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 16:07, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Edit count listing

Hi, Cyberpower678,
It seems like the Edit Count feature link from the User Contributions page leads to an error page now. I posted a note about it on your Labs account but you might see this note first. Yesterday, the tool was giving incorrect readings (like saying an editor who had been here for years had 0 edits) but that only happened intermittently and now I can't get it to work at all. I use this helpful link every day I'm on Wikipedia so I hope it can get fixed soon! Thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 20:12, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Yep it seems the xtools edit counter is down systemwide. "The URI you have requested, /xtools-ec/?user=Snowager&project=en.wikipedia.org, is not currently serviced.". This is going to mess up RfP . EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 20:20, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

I added the webwatcher to xtools-ec, so should restart itself moving forward unless there's a wmflabs or replication db issue, which is more than probable. MusikAnimal talk 22:53, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi all, it's a few days later and I just noticed the same thing on the ArticleInfo feature. Any idea why this might not be working yet? Cheers, WWB (talk) 18:38, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Something on xTools is running wildly out of control, and we don't have any access at the moment to fix...whatever is causing it, however, the tool itself seems to be working fine. —cyberpowerChat:Online 02:42, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
Aha, it's definitely back in some form, although the Page history feature itself still isn't working. Any enwiki page I look up comes back No revisions found. WWB (talk) 12:55, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

This is obsolete in my opinion, since more than 2 years of discussion! --Fmrauch (talk) 16:20, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

No it's not. The discussion is still open and as long as it's open, the tag will remain on the page.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 19:38, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

WikiViewStats

Hi,

I tried to use WikiViewStats and WikiviewStats2, but both of them are not working. These tools are very useful and I wanted to know if they'll be available again ? I heard that you might have the answer. If not, do you know someone who have it ? Thank you ! Simon Villeneuve (talk) 19:33, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

With all of us busy in RL, we have practically grinded to a halt in maintenance. The tools will come back but we are working on migrating xTools to their final destination on labs, which is off of toollabs and into our own maintained space. After that, we will work on restoring the tools to their former glory.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 19:37, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Nice, thank you for the answer ! Do you have an idea when this will be done (days, weeks, months, years) ? Simon Villeneuve (talk) 16:49, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
We hope to have the new environment setup this weekend. Then we will run some tests to ensure request loads are balanced, and the service doesn't freeze up. Not to mention memory doesn't run out. We will also setup other maintenance scripts to increase the maintainability.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 17:57, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Sounds like a structural solution to the persistent problems with the statistic overviews is 'around the corner'. Good to hear and thanks for your effort to make these tools better and more reliable.--Wolbo (talk) 18:19, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
+1. I cite this discussion on our French Signpost. Simon Villeneuve (talk) 12:23, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

XTools Edit Counter

Hi Cyperpower,

Unfortunately it seems that the Edit Counter is down. It currently says that their is no web service for it. Would it be possible for you to take a look and see if you could fix it? I would greatly appreciate it! Mike VTalk 18:24, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

@Mike V: Hi Mike, it's our understanding this is labs-related. Lots of other tools are also down. In the meantime for basic stats you can try Supercount (one of the currently unaffected lab tools) or WikiChecker (not labs, but slower service), best. MusikAnimal talk 18:30, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately the wikichecker website is giving me a 403 error and there are certain aspects of the Xtools edit counter not found on the super count that I was hoping to use. However, I do appreciate you trying to suggest some alternatives. Best, Mike VTalk 18:36, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
WikiChecker is regularly flaky, but if you keep hitting refresh eventually it should load. Sorry for the inconvenience, hopefully before too long xtools will have it's own dedicated instance that will be unaffected by labs maintenance. MusikAnimal talk 18:40, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
You don't realize how much you rely on something until it isn't working. I use the Edit Counter many times each day. Liz Read! Talk! 18:58, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Season 9 – Pokémon: Battle Frontier (2005-2006)

Why did you revert the changes I made to the episode numbers for parts 1 and 2 for the Pokemon episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis!? Parts 1 and 2 of the Pokemon episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis! aired on the same day in Japan on April 13, 2006 and in the United States on October 28, 2006. Since both parts of this one hour Pokemon episode aired on the same day, it makes sense that the Japanese and USA episode numbers should be the same. Japanese episode numbers for the parts 1 and 2 of the Pokemon episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis! should be 448. USA episode numbers for the parts 1 and 2 of the Pokemon episode Pokémon Ranger! Deoxys Crisis! should be 443. Why is part 1 of this Pokemon episode Japanese episode number 448 and part 2 is Japanese episode number 449? Why is part 1 of this Pokemon episode USA episode number 443 and part 2 is USA episode number 444?--BCC3wiki 20:55, 28 March 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bchu3wiki (talkcontribs)

Same day does not mean same episode. Theoretically, Pokémon can air 3 new episodes this Saturday. That doesn't mean they are considered the same episode. Also, no consensus for this change, which means you need to open a discussion first before renumbering the episodes.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 06:16, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Cyberbot I not online

Noticing Cyberbot I hasn't done any tasks in the last 16 hours or so, is it in need of a reboot? Also, the logs for the bot aren't available on the Tool Labs again for some reason, they're pretty helpful so would be good to see them reinstated. tutterMouse (talk) 11:18, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Labs broke everything. Cyberbot is dead. The bot may autorecover and reboot itself in about 24 hours though. I don't have the time atm to fix it. As for the logs I may need to kick the webservice back on.—cyberpowerChat:Online 15:33, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Cyberbot II breaking redirects

Cyberbot II's work to add protection templates is fine, but there are problems when it encounters a protected redirect. It is placing the protection template in front of the redirect. But this breaks the redirect. For redirects to be functional, they must be the first thing on the page. Any templates need to come after the redirect, not in front of it. [1] is an example of one of these redirect-breaking edits. I've found three of these so far today, and am not done working through the short pages report. And if your bot broke any that have additional templates on them, they could easily be down off the first few pages of the short pages report, meaning I won't be able to easily find them to fix them. - TexasAndroid (talk) 14:31, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

I'll work on a patch to fix that.CP 14:36, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

More on CyberBot II

[2] Here's another one. Here we have a case of vandalism to a protected page. Almost fully blanking the page. In this case it appears that your bot jumped in to restore the protection template, but it jumped in so fast that by the time the normal anti-vandalism bots got to it, your edit was now the most recent, so the vandalism stood. I would think that the anti-vandalism bots should get priority over your bot. In cases like this, reverting the vandalism would also solve the issue that your bot is aiming to solve. So is there any way you could add a delay of some sort, maybe even just a couple of minutes, to allow the anti-vandalism bots to have first crack at pages that have had protection templates removed?

And on a marginally related note, does your bot have anti-editwarring code? What would happen if an editor, for whatever reason, *wanted* to remove the template? For the anti-vandalism bots, if their edits are reverted, they do not make them again. Once someone makes an edit that trips them a second time, the bot does not revert a second time, preventing it from getting into edit wars with editors, whether vandals or not. So, does your bot have similar code to prevent itself from edit warring if someone removes a protection template twice? - TexasAndroid (talk) 17:14, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

What's going on?

It seems that the Xtools edit counter keeps breaking. Just now, when I was trying to use it to look at a certain statistic of mine, I was told that I practically did not exist (0 edits), that I made my first edit on December 31, 2099 (despite the fact that I wasn't supposed to have any edits), and that my latest edit was on December 2, 02. So, I made my latest edit 2,097 years before my first edit? ;) --Biblioworm 02:28, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Toollabs is shit. It keeps breaking down.—cyberpowerChat:Online 02:45, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Cyberbot I vs Hazard-Bot: Sandbox Wars!

Hey in the main sandbox, there really is no point in Cyberbot attempting to clear it when Hazard-Bot and Lowercase sigmabot II do it and use a different header than yours does. See this specifically. Hazard-Bot will switch it to its own, and yours will switch it back which is utterly pointless. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 04:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Looks like a goof. Cyberbot isn't supposed to edit the sandbox.—cyberpowerChat:Limited Access 13:38, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
