Community Christian School is a college preparatory school in Bradenton, Florida. Community Christian serves students in prekindergarten through grade 12 in the Bradenton / Sarasota area.

Accreditation[edit]

Community Christian School is a member of the Sunshine State Association of Christian Schools (SSACS) and the American Association of Christian Schools (ACCS). CCS is nationally accredited by the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and regionally accredited through the North American Christian School Accrediting Agency (NACSAA).[1]

History[edit]

In 1968 Community Baptist Church established Community Christian School as a dependent ministries of the church.

Campus[edit]

A 20-acre campus hosts the school's Preschool (K2-K4), Elementary (K5-6th grades), and Jr.- Sr. High (7th-12th grades) programs along with Community Baptist Church's auditorium building.

The campus includes several classroom buildings, an office complex, auditorium, air-conditioned gymnasium, full-sized athletic fields and large playground areas.

Curriculum[edit]

Community Christian's curriculum is a balanced liberal arts program that includes math, English, science, social studies, Spanish, music, and technology.

Community Christian's curriculum is a balance of Bob Jones University Press and Abeka Book from Pensacola Christian College.

Duel enrollment is available through State College of Florida and Clearwater Christian College.

Extracurricular activities[edit]

Student groups and activities include National Honor Society, school newspaper, and yearbook.

Community Christian School's athletic teams, known as the Community Christian Crusaders, compete in interscholastic competitions in basketball, golf, soccer, and volleyball.

Recognition[edit]

Community Christian is known for their strong music department. High school band and choir have consistently placed 1st or 2nd at national competition over the past several years.[2]
