There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Important Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

November 2021[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and civility. On this encyclopedia project, editors assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not appear to do at User talk:Bonadea. Here is Wikipedia's welcome page, and it is hoped that you will assume the good faith of other editors and continue to help us improve Wikipedia! Thank you very much! Blocked[edit]

Your tendentious editing[1][2][3] and your negative attitude to academic sources, as displayed here, here, and most recently here, show that you are not suited to edit the highly charged area of Indian politics (which is your sole interest on Wikipedia). Yes, academics "are seen as better sources", that is one of our basic sourcing principles in this place. Compare WP:SOURCETYPES: "Try to cite current scholarly consensus when available". These nonsense warnings are also bad:[4][5] Your editing is quite sparse, but none of it is constructive. You have been blocked indefinitely as not here to build an encyclopedia. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I reverted Bishonen's edit from my talk page, after that I was directly blocked. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Count_Of_The_Baskervilles&diff=prev&oldid=1056077562 I have seen other users are given explanations and warnings, not direct indefinite blocks. Even vandalism only accounts are given three-four warnings. Unblock request page states, that unblock request is about discussing my edit instead of other, but as the reason given for the block above, I need to explain. I reverted complete page blanking by User Depressed Desi here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Forced_conversion_of_minority_girls_in_Pakistan&diff=prev&oldid=1053146784 In order to escape being blocked by edit warring, he logged out and started editing from an IP. His edits show that he is from Pakistan and the Ip is from Pakistan. He was trying to WP:CENSOR negative things about his country. Bishonen instead of seeing his fault accused me of not build encyclopaedia, who was trying to help build Wikipedia. And if Wikipedia is based on consensus, not the consensus of three-four editors, then they need to listen to what I say on talk pages of Love Jihad. Regarding Bonadea. Ashok Swain is from the same university where he works. I saw Bonadea doing similar edits that Ashok Swain speaks on his Twitter account. Whether Bonadea is really from that university or not, I am not going to find out. I thought he is making edits as Ashok Swain told him to. This block looks like a personal vendetta to avenge their friend Bonadea. Did I make the same comment on Bonadea's talk page, after Doug Weller asked me not to? Doug Weller is trying to explain, Bishonen is like a strict school principal trying to punish kids. As the block mentions my edits, I will say why I made those comments. One user raised the issue that Love Jihad term was originally coined by church and communists still they say it was made by Hindu groups, as academics said that. If academics will say Abraham Lincoln is female, I have no right to debate that?Count Of The Baskervilles (talk) 03:56, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Nothing here convinces me you should be unblocked. Nor do you seem to understand how Wikipedia works. Yamla (talk) 10:45, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.
