Is that you? I'm not sure what primary titles are. Can you give me links (in double square brackets)? --Kleinzach 10:05, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, assuming you are referring to Ferrero, I've tried to do what you want. Have I done the right thing? Sorry to hear about the video. Best. --Kleinzach 06:23, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of Ballets

[edit]

Thank you for starting this list. What do you think about listing the choreographer? Dkreisst (talk) 03:07, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Difficult to do the choreographer because there are so many of them. Which one would you like to mention, the first? You are welcome to improve the list as you deem appropriate. Thank you and greetings from the real Côte d'Azur, Cote d'Azur (talk) 07:23, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, one would have to list multiple ballets to the same music. Currently, though, the list includes the "year of the first performance." Does this mean performance as a musical piece or the first dance performance? If it refers to the performance of the dance, then there is already a default choreographer included. Was this your intention? Dkreisst (talk) 00:46, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
All the years mark the first performance as a ballet; some of the years are hyperlinked to the "List of ... ballet premieres." I would also like to differentiate between the ballet as a music form (e.g., Swan Lake) and the ballet that choreographers create to music by certain composers (e.g., Triptych). This is not difficult to do. Cote d'Azur (talk) 11:30, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

You have removed again the link from Template:Frederick Ashton‎ and List of ballets choreographed by Frederick Ashton‎ to an informative sentence about the short Ashton ballet La chatte métamorphosée en femme on Wikipedia. I am not aware that any of the reasons you have given for removing the link are valid within the rules of Wikipedia, and I am baffled as to why you are so keen to prevent readers from accessing this succinct information about the ballet.

As I have already reverted the links I think I am now unable to do that again (you have deleted three times on each). I would hope that either you change your mind about this, or that other users put them back.

On the question of edit summaries it would be really helpful to other editors now and in the future if you could provide a short summary before saving your changes to articles. Summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history and appear also in User contributions and Recent changes. Thank you. Cg2p0B0u8m (talk) 16:38, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think that links, especially in ballet templates, should point to ballet articles, not to sentences in opera articles. This is confusing and, as I said before, such linking also discourages the creation of new ballet articles. Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:14, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

I see that you have been overhauling some of the opera templates that I have created. When you add links to templates, please add the template to the pages that those links lead to.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 00:18, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thank you, Cote d'Azur (talk) 04:03, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hey dude. I am still having to check up on your changes to the templates. I added {{Giuseppe Verdi}} and {{Georges Bizet}} to several pages following your recent edits. It would be great if I did not have to watch what you do to all the opera templates so closely.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:58, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Britten cantatas: unless there are many more, why not have them in the general Britten navbox, maintaining one instead of two? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:03, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are many "Cantatas templates", the "Britten cantatas" template is just one of them. It would be difficult to change all of them. Cote d'Azur (talk) 14:36, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Compositions by year

[edit]

Regarding this edit: correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't this category correspond to the year the composition was completed rather than when it was first performed? For example, the ballet Cydalise et le Chèvre-pied was composed in 1915, but not premiered until 1923, after the conclusion of World War I. Though it makes perfect sense for it to be included in the category "1923 ballet premieres" (as it is), it seems highly illogical to me that it should be included in the category "1923 compositions" too, as this puts it eight years out of date. I've read many similar instances of pieces not receiving their premieres until decades after their completion, like Virgil Thomson's Symphony on a Hymn Tune (completed in 1928, not performed until 1945). And if this designation should apply to these extreme examples, should it not also apply to compositions whose premieres were made a single year after completion?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this or even cited Manual of Style if possible. Because if my intuition has been incorrect all this time, I have a ton of articles to fix. Jg2904 (talk) 07:44, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest not to change anything until this problem is solved. Well, composers may take many years to write a composition. The year of the first performance seems to be more important. This is how it is given in guides and encyclopaedias. In extreme cases perhaps other rules apply. This is a general, important issue and maybe we should take it to the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Classical music page... Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:05, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm inclined to agree. And yes, I won't be making any changes of this nature until some consensus is found. Jg2904 (talk) 19:17, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work

[edit]

I noticed your editing on the Outline of Italy. Extraordinarily thorough job you are doing there. I especially like the thumbnail images. Nice touch. Thank you, and keep up the excellent work. The Transhumanist 21:23, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I will, and thank you for starting the page. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 02:20, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome. I see you have also worked on the Outline of San Marino, about the enclave landlocked inside Italy. Nice job there too. By the way, have you seen the Outline of Vatican City? Since you are working on Italy, you might find that one relevant to your interests. The Transhumanist 19:33, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Outline of Italy was a great pleasure to do, I am glad you like it, I had not expected so cordial a reception. When I finish with Italy I will try to do the same thing for Greece. Thank you for creating that page too. I saw the Vatican City outline but that will have to wait.—Cote d'Azur (talk) 03:47, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've started a rudimentary outline on the city of Rome, in case you are interested.

To compare with other cities' treatments, see Category:Outlines of cities. The Transhumanist 22:28, 21 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested, this one is definitely in my line, will try to do the best for it. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 03:51, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed a lot of material on Milan, and gathered much of it into Outline of Milan. It is still far from complete. I mention it here in case it falls within your Italian navigation aid development interests. The Transhumanist 08:13, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does, Turin would be interesting too. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:18, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There is also the Outline of ancient Rome and Outline of classical studies. The Transhumanist 00:06, 24 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Five more started in WikiProject Outlines' draft space

Enjoy, The Transhumanist 09:28, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the new image at Giants (Greek mythology) of Gaia watching Poseidon fighting Polybotes, I wasn't aware that that image existed on Wikipedia. But I've undone your edit—for now at least—because it replaced an image of Dionysus battling a Giant with his thyrsus, that I think needs to be where it is to help illustrate the text which discusses Apollodorus' account in which "Eurytus was killed by Dionysus with his thyrsus". I will try to find another more appropriate place for the new Poseidon vs Polybotes image. Paul August 13:23, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thank you. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 14:07, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've now aded the new image back to Giants (Greek mythology) in the section "Named Giants". I also added the image of the cup to our Polybotes article, which fits nicely there as the cup was already discussed there. So thanks again for making me aware of this important image. Paul August 14:39, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thank you! —Cote d'Azur (talk) 14:40, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Outline of Florence

[edit]

You have done an amazing job on Outline of Florence.

Thanks primarily to you, it now resides in article space.

Well done. The Transhumanist 10:36, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Great, you have done an excellent job as well! On to Outline of Turin now? —Cote d'Azur (talk) 10:44, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Turin sounds good, as does Vienna. ;) When will you be transferring Vienna to article space? The Transhumanist 07:45, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Right now. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 07:46, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I'll have a go at it soon, and will add it to my watchlist right away. The Transhumanist 09:45, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to mainline outline development

You have become one of the most active outline developers, ever. Thank you.

Keep up the good work. And now I have a question for you:

Are you ready to strap jet engines to your back?

If so, read on...

Tips and power tools

[edit]

In case you might find these useful, here are some tips on various approaches on editing/using Wikipedia, with an emphasis on outlines...

Tip of the day

[edit]

First things first, the general stuff: we have a tips department, called Tip of the day. It shows a distinct tip each day of the year. I learned many of the finer points of WP use by working in that department. But one can get the benefit of that department's expertise by displaying the tip of the day on one's talk page. Tip: by including it somewhere on your talk page as a reference, like this,[1] it will show up at the bottom of your page.

Some AutoWikiBrowser features

[edit]

AutoWikiBrowser has 3 powerful features that come in very handy for working on outlines:

  1. Its Make list feature can gather links to place in an outline, like those in a category.
  2. Its List comparer integrates its Make list feature so that you can filter a list down. For example, if you want to cull a list down to all those entries that are not already in an outline. That way, you don't have to delete the duplicates manually.
  3. Its Database scanner is probably the most powerful feature of all. First you download the Wikipedia database (via bit torrent is fastest). Then you use the Database scanner to do plain or regex searches on it. It can do searches on article titles, or article contents, or a combination of both. You can get very well targeted results. One way to use this for a city outline is to search for all titles with "of Vienna" or "in Vienna", or regex "((of)|(in)) Vienna". Then save that list to file, and open it in the List comparer, and filter it against the links already in the Outline of Vienna.

StripSearchSorted.js

[edit]

Speaking of searching, I've created a script called StripSearchSorted.js to modify Wikipedia's search results. What it does is strips out all the extraneous detail, to show just the page names. Then it sorts those page names and adds bullet list wikiformatting to them, so that you can copy and paste any or all of the items directly from the search results page into an outline or list that you are editing.

I'm working on an enhancement to that script, so that WP search's "intitle:" feature works as intended, with only precise matches showing up in the search results. For example, show only article titles that have "in Vienna" in them. Hopefully I will have that done in a week or two (it has proven to be a tricky programming problem).

OutlineViewAnnotationToggler.js

[edit]

Outlines are evolving into a hybrid of the two main outline types and include aspects of both topic and sentence outlines. The hybrid is annotated outlines. Some annotated outlines include the outlines on chess, Narnia, forestry, cell biology, architecture, basketball, canoeing and kayaking, Colorado prehistory, cuisines, motorcycles and motorcycling, natural science, prehistoric technology, sharks, knowledge, Wikipedia, theatre, the humanities, transhumanism, and many more. So I've written a script called OutlineViewAnnotationToggler.js that provides a menu item in one of the tab menus at the top of the page to toggle outline annotations on and off, so you can look at outlines with the annotations, or as bare lists without them. The script remembers its status, so it stays on or off for all outlines. Eventually, it will work on the annotations in all page types (to toggle the annotations in list articles, and embedded lists).

RedlinkRemover.js

[edit]

This one you will love: RedlinksRemover.js. It provides a menu item in the sidebar tools menu that strips out the redlinked entries of outlines, delinks those that have branches, and delinks the redlinks embedded within prose. This really cleans up outlines nicely. While building outlines, you don't want to remove the redlinked entries right away, because many of them will become parents of other entries that you add. Then, when you are ready, the RedlinkRemover will delink those rather than remove them. RedlinkRemover.js is currently being tested (and works) on outlines only, but it was based on a script that works on regular articles (and still has that capability), and the safety stop will be removed after testing on outlines is completed.

[edit]

There's a Firefox add-on called Link Ninja for loading links that you select on a page into tabs. It is very useful for inspecting many outlines quickly, and for working on many outlines rapidly. For example, if you wanted to inspect the lead sections of 50 outlines, you'd select their links with Link Ninja's rectangle selection tool off of Portal:Contents/Outlines or a custom sandbox list, and then use Firefox's tab navigation hot keys to traverse between the outlines. Ctrl+W, for example, closes the current tab and instantly displays the next one. Ctrl+Tab ↹ switches between tabs, so you can click "edit" on each one in a row, before going on to the next action you want to do to all of them, etc. Very fast. Very powerful.

Watchlist sorter

[edit]

Watchlist sorter – this script (by Misza13) sorts your watchlist by namespace, and adds spaces within each entry to make the watchlist easier to read. My watchlist includes every outline and outline draft, so there's very little that happens to outlines that I don't notice immediately. Plus thousands of other pages. Watchlist sorter makes it much easier on the eyes to browse the list.

wikEd

[edit]

wikEd is awesome. I use it as my default editor on Wikipedia. It has regex built-in. Very often, I use regex in it to convert lists of terms into bullet lists of links. For example, pull a list off of AWB, and convert it into a link list in an outline page. It also has a feature to alphabetically sort lists right on the page you are editing - highlight the list items you want to sort, and click on the button. By the way, WikEd's undo/redo feature is invaluable.

[edit]

Redirects and disambiguation pages are sneaky, because they pose as regular (blue) links. I don't let them hide. I like to see them for what they really are, so that I can check the redirects for proper destination, and replace the disambigs with the correct links. Here's how to make them visible:

Wrapping up...

[edit]

Well, those are some of the best tricks and tools that I use. I'll leave off here, otherwise I'll be typing all night! The functionality of AWB, for example, goes way beyond what I've covered above. But the 3 techniques I presented can be used offline and without registering -- a good way to get your feet wet with it. I hope to find or create even more powerful techniques, so be sure to keep in touch. ;)

And, most important of all...

Have fun! The Transhumanist 09:45, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: If you have any questions, feel free to ask. –TT

Thank you very much. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 09:51, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are most welcome. If you need help getting up and running with any of the above, let me know, and I will help the best that I can. Also, on the scripts I've written, if you run into any bugs, please report them to me, and I will try to fix them ASAP. Suggestions on how to improve them are also welcome. Sincerely, The Transhumanist 09:59, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, link ninja does not work with the latest version of Firefox (57 and above -- Firefox Quantum). I have not yet found a worthy replacement. The Transhumanist 22:05, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  1. ^
Pick from a list of template parameter choices

Do you have a list of possible choices for a template parameter? Use the #switch parser function to define the choices. Then simply enter the choice's numeric value into the template for the applicable parameter, e.g., 1="Sunday" 2="Monday" 3="Tuesday" ... Default choices also can be listed. For simplicity with lists, use a switch statement instead of a "nested if-then-else" conditional statement to control flow.

    To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}
[edit]

Pointers on green and orange links:

Links to disambiguation pages are generally bad. It is usually best to replace such a link with a link to a more specific article.

Redirects in outlines, on the other hand, are usually good. They can be used in a template to generate outlines (like Template:Outline city), and the links generally correspond with the titles of expansion articles and it is nice to have those titles already in place in the outline. So, if a section that a redirect points to gets expanded into an actual article, the redirect page becomes the article page for that topic, and the outline already points to it!

This also allows for standardization between outlines. For example, it helps in the development of outlines and navigation of city subjects if "History of x" is the standard go to link for history for all cities. And so on for other likely subtopics, like "Geography of x", "Economy of x", "Transportation of x", etc.

I hope this explanation helps. The Transhumanist 20:58, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question...

[edit]

Which skin do you use? The Transhumanist 02:07, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have no skins, I only use the GUI from my OS (Windows 7 Ultimate, SP 1, 64-bit). —Cote d'Azur (talk) 14:04, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you have no skin on Wikipedia specified, then your account defaults to the Vector skin. To be sure that's the one, you can check in Preferences under the Appearance tab -- and then it's right at the top of the page. The Vector skin displays Wikipedia's sidebar menu on the left side of the screen, with the puzzleglobe in the top left corner of the screen. The Transhumanist 22:00, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:12, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I'm working on a new user script to make Special:CategoryTree easier/faster to use for outline developers.

It needs some refinements, but its basic functionality works! So, I thought you'd want to know about it...

It is ViewAsOutline-CategoryTree.js.

To install it, add this line to your Vector.js file:

importScript("User:The Transhumanist/ViewAsOutline-CategoryTree.js");

When you are on the CategoryTree page, it provides 4 menu items in the sidebar.

It is useful for when you have mode set to "pages except files" or "all pages".

After selecting the mode, you expand the tree to show more of it. To help speed that up, the "CatTree expand" menu item expands all the categories in the tree at the same time, one level each time you click it.

Once you are done expanding the tree to the way you want it, you click on "CT Wikicodify".

That adds link formatting to the links for easy copying/pasting into outlines.

Don't hit CT wikicodify until you are ready to prepare the links for copying/pasting, because further expanding doesn't work after you do (a bug).

Then you copy/paste links to your heart's content. :)

Very useful for working on outlines, such as city outlines.

Just put the name of the city in the category box, select pages except files or all pages under mode, and then press Show tree. Then expand the tree, and when you are ready, CT wikicodify.

Enjoy. The Transhumanist 02:07, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Outline development

[edit]

Dear Cote d'Azur,

You are doing an awesome job on outlines, especially city outlines. Keep up the excellent work.

I've been working on a way to produce quality city outlines faster, that I thought you might be interested in. It takes a lot of the repetitive typing out the process. I've noticed you've been converting the previous city outline you've developed into the next city, which means deleting the old city name and typing the new city name over and over in the headings and standard entries.

There's a template, called Template:Outline city.

By inserting that template via a process called substitution, its content can be put into an outline where it can then be edited. It has a parameter, "{{{1}}}", which represents the city name that gets included in the substitution, like this:

{{subst:Outline city|Moscow}}

You put the above line on a blank page, with whatever city you want in place of "Moscow", and a skeleton of a city outline is produced when you save the page, with the city name appearing wherever {{{1}}} was.

At that point, the outline is ready for editing with new topics and sections. Also, the editor working on the page needs to remove any "standard" entries or sections that do not apply to that particular city, like if it has no canals.

I went over the existing city outlines and upgraded the Template:Outline city with headings and topics from them, for ease of outline creation. The template has been expanded to include likely headings and topics pertaining to any given city. I'll continue to add more as I come across them.

By the way, it's best to create each new outline on its own draft page, like User:Cote d'Azur/Drafts/Outline of Moscow, so that there is a record of edits made to the article. That way, others can see how the outline was developed, and learn from it. Also, if someone else helps develop the article, their contributions will be recorded and attributed accordingly in the outline's history. When the outline is ready for article space, the whole page is moved rather than cut/pasted, preserving the edit history.

Once all the topics you can find are added to the page, then you use the RedlinksRemover on it, and they are either stripped out or delinked by that script, depending on where they are located in the outline. Red end nodes without annotations are removed, but entries with children are just delinked to remain as part of the tree structure.

I hope you decide to try the above described method of outline creation, for two reasons: first, I believe it will make the process easier and therefore more fun. Second, it would be nice to get someone else's (your) opinion on how the method can be improved.

Have fun.

See ya on the outline pages.

Ciao, The Transhumanist 08:00, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: If you create the User:Cote d'Azur/Drafts/Outline of Moscow, or any other city outline draft, I would be happy to join in and help. -TT

Thank you, I am glad you like it. You were right about the World Heritage Sites in Prague, I changed that in the Outline of Saint Petersburg and Outline of Vienna as well. Concerning the Template:Outline city, I really would like you to contact me directly. You are welcome to my sandbox anytime. Ciao, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:18, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the invite. I'll definitely pop in sometime.
Pertaining to behind-the-scenes emails, I believe communications about Wikipedia development should remain transparent, for the most part. Feel free to edit and improve the Template:Outline city. Any links that turn red in the created outlines can be easily removed or delinked using RedlinksRemover.js.
I'm plugging away on user scripts to make outline development easier. I finally figured out how to get ViewAsOutline-NavBox.js to force navigation footers into show mode. But, I discovered some nav footers that the script does not turn off the graphical bullets in nor convert into vertical lists. There's hidden CSS in there somewhere, but I'll find it eventuallly. I'll be lucky if I don't go blind staring at the HTML page source as much as I do. :)
When you are ready to try my scripts, let me know. If you find the instructions hard to follow, give me a heads up, and I'll try to improve them. The Transhumanist 11:38, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Outline of Prague

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Outline of Prague. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Prague. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Prague. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Theroadislong (talk) 10:16, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

One way that may prevent this type of thing from happening again would be to create each new outline on its own draft page, like User:Cote d'Azur/Drafts/Outline of Prague, and when it is ready, move the entire page to article space. That way, other editors could see its development history, and would be less likely to jump to the conclusion that it is simply a copy/paste of another article. When an entire article appears out of nowhere, Wikipedia's vandalism fighters tend to get suspicious. The Transhumanist 02:27, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Another way would be to stop the work altogether. If my work receives unjust speedy deletion nominations, then why should I continue working? An entire article may appear out of nowhere because it was developed in a sandbox. I create articles in my sandbox because it is difficult to write a summary for every edit I make. For this reason I cannot use the draft page. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 07:10, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It was just a nomination, probably by somebody who only looked at the top of the page. The top of all outlines look pretty similar to the tops of the corresponding articles, especially the city outlines, which include the flag and coat of arms up there. Had he looked further down the page, he would have seen the difference. In such cases, I find it easy to forgive speedy deletion nominations. Also, outlines are very easy to get unspeedied (though they rarely get deleted, by any procedure).
As for your reason for using your sandbox, I had no idea. Pretty good way to get around the edit summary thing. You learn something every day. The Transhumanist 13:52, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've been thinking about your answer above. The reasons you should keep going are plenty. Here are a few of them:
1) Speedy noms are rare. I've created around 600 outlines, and only got a few speedy noms. Most were declined before I even got to see them. I got more AfD noms than that, and all but one were voted keep. I even found an AfD of an outline that got deleted long before the outline department was created, and I asked at deletion review if they'd resurrect it so we could add it to the collection, and they said yes! The biggest AfD on outlines we've ever had was on the Outline of the history of each US State (50 outlines), and rather than delete, they allowed me to merge them into the state outlines. So, there's not that much to be worried about.
2) Outlines provide a valuable public service. The set of outlines get over ten million views per year, and those are just the ones we can count (online). There are probably around 3 or more times as many people who access Wikipedia offline (using XOWA or Kiwix).
3) Outlines rock!
I can hardly wait to see what city you pick next. The Transhumanist 07:32, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

TrueMatch

[edit]

I added a feature called TrueMatch to StripSearchSorted.js, that makes the intitle feature of Wikipedia's search work correctly.

So with it, you could type in intitle:"in Moscow" and you would get this, right on the search results page (after you add "&limit=5000" to the url and press enter again):

* [[American Center in Moscow]]

Stockholm Palace image

[edit]

Hi Cote d'Azur. Please can I ask about your reason for replacing the image of the Northern Facade of Stockholm Palace? The previous image gave a clearer picture of the facade, as there were fewer obstructions blocking the view of it. The newer image is obstructed by the flag poles. Was there a particular reason for replacing this image? If not, I'll change it back to the original image. CLW (talk) 08:26, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ruler rules

[edit]

Hiya Cote d'Azur! Sorry I got to this late and now can't find the rollback request discussion. Worse, I'm really not sure what the answer is to your question!!! In official communications (press releases, websites etc), the rulers of the UAE are given as Ruler of Dubai, Ruler of Sharjah etc. However, Wikipedia has a real problem with 'honorifics', so doesn't like the UAE form of title (His Highness Sheikh Mohammed etc) and may not like to capitalise Ruler - yet Elizabeth II is Queen of the UK with a capital, which would tend to suggest a cap is appropriate for Ruler of Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

If that helps? :\ Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 04:54, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of seemingly pertinent categories

[edit]

Hi Cote d'Azur! Could you help me understand why you've made a bunch of recent edits removing categories from social dance and related articles? I looked through some of them, and in many cases the categories you removed seem like they'd be highly pertinent to the article and their removal cannot be explained by the article already belonging to a sub-category. Hello, Sdkb. The categories I edited are: Social dance, Partner dance, Contra dance, Square dance, English folk dance, English folk music, and Tango dance. I removed from them articles about British Reality TV shows, goddesses of the seasons, genres of pop music from Cambodia, Cornish words, annual weekend festivals, nonprofit organizations, and a theatre because these are not dances and therefore they belong in other categories. Cheers, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:19, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As I interpret it, the categories of social dance or contra dance pertain to the concept of those activities, more broadly construed, not to the actual act of dancing; otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for things like contra dance bands to be nested in the contra dance category. At the very least, I would assume that anyone following the contra dance category would be interested in paying attention to the nonprofit that promotes contra dancing or one of the largest contra dancing events in the U.S. Are you aware of any WP policies that define categories in the way you seem to be interpreting them? Otherwise, my inclination would be to revert your edits. - Sdkb (talk) 18:41, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wow. Just checked the pages history and have seen how you've enhanced and improved the page since February 19 - great job! Thanks for this expansion. It has given anyone searching, researching, or interested in the cultural subject of dance an accurate alphabetical overview of Wikipedia's collection. Very cool. Revert explanation?

[edit]

Hello, just looking for an explanation as to why you undid my recent edit on List of poisonous plants. My intention was to add a separate column for the plants' common names in the "Other poisonous plants" table in order to unclutter the Description column and mirror the earlier "Poisonous food plants" table; I simultaneously added a few images missing from the Picture column and formatted the Scientific name column to remove the bold type. Is there a reason why any of this doesn't belong? Please remember that good-faith editors should explain their reverts in edit summaries. —PJsg1011 (talk) 20:18, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the intentions were good but the result brought no improvement to the article. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 20:34, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please elaborate? I'm trying to make a genuine contribution to the article by correcting what I see as an inconsistency in formatting between the two large tables of which most of the article consists, and also by adding images and making other minor improvements to style wherever it seems they are necessary. I'd love to get the opinions of other editors, but responses like "the result brought no improvement" are obviously not specific enough to be of any use. What, specifically, would constitute an improvement to the article, in your opinion? If you believe the formatting of the tables should simply remain the way it is now, saying that explicitly would be a huge help. —PJsg1011 (talk) 03:41, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is the width of your table; it ruins the layout of the page. Please try to edit the content by keeping the old format. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:04, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what width you're referring to – the widths of the individual columns or the width of the table as a whole – but, at least in my browser, the formatting changes I introduced appear extremely subtle relative to the current revision. If you were more specific I'd have a better idea of your perspective. I can certainly see how the Common names column I created would initially be unappealing, but ultimately the intended effect was to produce something that looks consistent with the upper table; maybe I'll try to adjust the upper table instead, so that the common names are not in their own column but in the Description column, as with the lower table. In any case the inconsistency bugs me, as well as the fact that the relevant info about each plant's toxicity appears only after an often very long list of common names in the Description column, buried in the middle of the paragraph rather than immediately accessible to the reader. In the future I'll make more effort to test the layout in a number of different browsers, but I believe the existing layout is problematic enough that I intend to continue to test various formatting changes to one or the other table in an effort to find some compromise. Feel free to revert if you don't agree, but please try to share some more detailed explanations and/or suggestions so that a compromise can be reached sooner. –PJsg1011 (talk) 17:11, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I meant the width of the table. I edited the column widths and now the two tables look consistent in my browser (latest Mozilla version). What do they look like in your browser? —Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:39, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Looks great, nice work! I typically use Chrome for editing. My apologies again for rushing to reformat without checking compatibility across browsers. Thanks for being willing to incorporate my changes and find a solution! Also, good catch on transposing the Scientific and Common names columns in the upper table.

Now I'm considering dropping the "Commonly known as..." etc. phrasing from the Common names in the lower table, perhaps also the bold type, if only to be consistent with the upper – what do you think? As for the few remaining missing images, I'm aware that some of these species are so exotic or obscure that decent images specifically featuring their poisonous parts simply do not exist on Wikimedia. Adding those may ultimately require searching public-domain sources elsewhere on the web. —PJsg1011 (talk) 05:09, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Glad it worked! Harmonising the tables is a good idea and your changes are welcome. The existing pictures took a lot of effort to collect. Concerning the rest of the pictures, they are missing because they do not exist or are not good enough to use in this article. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:06, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please review our edits?

[edit]

Hello, we are the archivists at Lombard Odier in Geneva and wanted to improve the article relating to the bank, which is in a horrendous state. We proposed a new version on the talk page, and the editor who replied to us kindly suggested we see with people from the Wikiproject Switzerland, where your user name is listed (we since also made a first round of improvements and fixed some formatting issues). The text is a translation of the French article, but we would nevertheless appreciate any comment or suggestion (or corrections!). We have also been trying to upload archives (mostly XIXth century illustrations) on Wikimedia Commons, but the upload seems to have failed for some reason.

Thank you very much in advance for your help, Hello at LO (talk) 12:24, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to your email

[edit]

Dear Cote d'Azur, thank you for your email (I hope you don't mind me answering here). I don't spend much time here at the moment, so cannot really help you. I haven't looked at the article you mentioned, but I can give you some general advice. You don't need to be an admin to review an article (or accept proposed changes to an article): read the draft, and if it looks good, you can make the changes. If there were comments (e.g. on a previous version of the draft, or because a maintenance template had been added to the article), make sure they are addressed before you approve the changes or remove the template... otherwise, indicate your concerns on the draft... and that should be it ! Hope this helps, Schutz (talk) 09:23, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it helps indeed and thank you for the advice. Best regards, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 09:28, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Great ! The bottom line is "if the requested changes look legitimate to you and contribute to article quality, feel free to implement them". If you do this, you can not really be wrong. All the best, Schutz (talk) 09:40, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I will try, and many thanks for the encouragement. With best wishes, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 10:00, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of 4 sentences regarding the Crac under Ottoman rule

[edit]

Hi, can I ask why you undid the 4 lines I added to the article "Krak des Chevaliers" on 2020.02.20 five minutes after I added them?78.191.7.160 (talk) 07:44, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, because the reference cannot be checked directly. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 08:36, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That would not appear to violate any wikipedia guidelines, where the principle of verifiability specifies that "Material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source". The four lines I added are hardly likely to be challenged; and they are attributed to a "reliable, published source" (France's most prestigious scholarly journal of Middle East history). I can provide a link to the table of contents of the issue where the article appears (https://poj.peeters-leuven.be/content.php?url=issue&journal_code=JA&issue=2&vol=307); out of very understandable copyright questions the article is not freely available to non registered users. (A draft of the article is, however, available on academia.edu). Surely that is not wikipedia's standard for authority, that only clickable links on Internet constitute authority. I fail to see how merely removing without comment 4 lines referring to new scholarly research on an important period in the Krak des Chevalier's history has rendered the article better.78.191.7.160 (talk) 11:19, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave it to your discretion. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:14, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

'Salle des Caryatides' versus 'Salle des Cariatides'

[edit]

You changed to the second spelling as more French in the article Architecture of Paris. I checked Le Grand Dictionnaire Hachette-Oxford (2007), as well as WordReference.com, where both spellings are given for French. I also noticed that Christiane Aulanier's French book has the title: La salle des Caryatides (BnF Notice bibliographique), and she uses this spelling throughout. Also, check this Louvre web page (French language version): Histoire du Louvre - La salle des Caryatides. --Robert.Allen (talk) 22:50, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Revert of my edition

[edit]

Hi, I can understand that you undid my edit in Arcadi Volodos because the background is difficult to explain in very few words (although I tried to explain a bit more since someone else undid one of my other edits). The source that I have deleted had been added to the article by an IP that is currently blocked globally because he included hundreds of (fake) references in various language versions of wikipedia, all with the obvious goal to get more views of his own article. You may also have a look into my user talk for more details. Best wishes --Barbasca (talk) 10:16, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo, the book exists, now it is necessary to find page 51. Regards, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:49, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cote d'Azur,
Barbasca (talk · contribs) is referring to widespread citation/reference spam by a banned IP on a number of international Wikis. The book 88 notes pour piano solo is used as a ref 431 times on en.wiki alone, and for that reason I've advised Barbasca to take this to WikiProject Spam and ask for advice there. With such widespread international ref spamming it may well be appropriate to delete these refs wholesale and regardless.
Best, == Peter NYC (talk) 00:29, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Peter NYC, I would like to check the ref before discarding it. Best, —Cote d'Azur (talk) 05:54, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Cote d'Azur,
Absolutely, and let us know what you find, please. If you look at Wilhelm Kempf, and then go to the Basque, Catalan, Esperanto, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Simple English, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish entries, you'll find that same book again, sometimes as the only ref, and attesting to that he was a pianist; a great 20th Century pianist; and a German pianist. Sometimes students are referenced. In Emanuel Macron the book is a ref for both Macron playing the piano, and that he attended Amiens Conservatory. In other languages the book is a secondary or tertiary ref for this fact.
BTW, I got the number of pages where the book is referenced in en.Wiki wrong, it is 211 times. However, if you go down just the first page, it is surprising how often "p. 51" appears. That list of 211 entries likely tells you more than it does me. If the book is a worthwhile reference, then it should continue to be listed. I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm simply allergic to spam unless it comes in a can.
Best, == Peter NYC (talk) 07:30, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this needs checking (I, too, noticed that page 51 appears very often). We should also wait and see what the WikiProject Spam has to say, then we will know more... —Cote d'Azur (talk) 07:45, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MoS

[edit]

Please note that every page of the Manual of Style says this at the top:

It is a generally accepted standard that editors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply.

What this means is that, unlike Wikipedia policies, MoS is not mandatory. Further several arbitartion cases have established without a doubt that editing to enforce MoS is not an exception to the policies against WP:edit warring.

Please stop changing the position of the image on Fuhrermuseum, thereby edit warring to enforce MoS. Please note that while I certainly do not wp:OWN this article, I did write 85% of it. [1]. Beyond My Ken (talk) 09:14, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet, but I will take a serious look at it. What is your opinion on this list, please? —Cote d'Azur (talk) 11:29, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I've noticed you have modified the lead in several articles that are lists of compositions by classical music composers, specifically by changing this:

This is a list of compositions by Alexander Scriabin.

to this:

This is a list of compositions by Alexander Scriabin.

resulting in the link to the parent composer biography article being in bold. This is strictly prohibited by MoS: no links in bold. This applies to the lead as well as the main text. The way the text stood before was acceptable under MoS, which states that it's okay to quote only part of the page title in the first sentence of the lead.

There have been a lot of arguments, actually out-and-out bloody fights with several people getting severely injured, over this dumb issue in the classical music composition lists. That list project consensus in the past has been to make all lists consistent with "list of compositions" in bold, followed by "by" non-bold and then the composer name wiki-linked but not bold. You would do best to not tamper with this style.

I see you have changed quite a few of them, mostly last December, around Christmas day, and nobody's corrected them. Perhaps you could go through and revert your edits please, as it's a lot of trouble for us to do it. In any case, don't do any more links in bold, on any pages because it does violate MoS. List of Roman triumphal arches

[edit]

What is better about section headers titled "List" and "Destroyed arches" versus headers titled "Remaining arches" and "Destroyed arches"? "List" is in the title of the article and doesn't describe the section contents or what distinguishes them from the other list in the other section. AmateurEditor (talk) 06:14, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Remaining arches" looks odd. Apart from that, the title "List" is always used in list artcles. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:22, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you think it is always used? Of the 28 list articles in Template:Ancient Roman architecture lists, only one uses "List" as a section header and that is excused by that article having just a single section, unlike this one. List of Roman triumphal arches has two lists in separate sections, but only one is being called "List". If we follow the pattern of the other list articles, neither section should. The section headers should describe their contents in a way that distinguishes them from the other sections in the article. If you would rather change the section header to something other than "Remaining arches", that's fine with me, but "List" is insufficient. AmateurEditor (talk) 07:53, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the first section header to "Existing arches", if that looks less odd to you. AmateurEditor (talk) 00:12, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File Saxon Switzerland

[edit]

Good Evening

My problem with this image is, that there are two images of one thing - Saxon Switzerland. One should be enough. I would be very pleased, if you can stop ignoring half of the reasons I gave you. Of course, it has something to with the economy, but this place is already mentioned in tourism. That should be enough.

Thank you! --Geoprofi Lars (talk) 18:26, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening. The two pictures illustrate two different things and are in different sections. This is not forbidden. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:43, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Jerome Kohl

[edit]

On 28 January 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jerome Kohl, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Jerome Kohl, a music theorist of the University of Washington, was recognized internationally as an authority on the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, publishing a book on his Zeitmaße in 2017? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jerome Kohl. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jerome Kohl), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

???

[edit]

You really think our readers won't understand that "Orchestral" means "Orchestral music"??? Why "Related articles" instead of "Related", how could they be anything but "articles"? Why the clunky "Named for so and so" when a single word "namesakes" suffices? You inability to provide edit summaries or substantial reasoning in your knee jerk reverts is extremely rude and in bad faith. Aza24 (talk) 18:26, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits are no improvement. Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:28, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You have failed to address anything I've said. Your edits are no improvement per my earlier comment. Please see WP:COMPETENCE, it is clear that you should not be editing templates. Aza24 (talk) 18:40, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I created this template and JK accepted it, so why are you changing it to "Chamber", etc.? What is "Chamber", is that clear and elegant? Cote d'Azur (talk) 18:47, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If a reader can't understand that "Chamber" refers to "Chamber music" in the context of "Piano" "Orchestral" and "Opera" then they will not understand "Chamber music" either. Listen, I'm sure that with your "100,000" edits and ten years here you feel comfortable mass reverting me with no edit summary and not moving beyond your "no improvement" comment until 40 minutes later, but guess what, it's extremely uncivil and unproductive, two traits which you've demonstrably mastered. Vulnerable narcissism

[edit]

If you have time, can you comment on the merger proposal for this article? Vulnerable narcissism Wiki-psyc (talk) 16:12, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will comment here, if you don’t mind. I think that both Vulnerable narcissism and Grandiose narcissism are important topics and should have their own, stand alone articles, perhaps under different titles (Covert and Overt). —Cote d'Azur (talk) 16:46, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My observation is that Wikipedia has many overlapping articles on Narcissism. Narcissism and Narcissistic personality disorder cover the same subject matter.
After reading most of the many sub articles it seems to me that they are serving more to confuse than enlighten. Many articles lack context.
Wikipedias's Borderline Personality Disorder article is possibly a good model to follow for NPD.
It's something for us all to think about.
Thanks for your time and comments. Wiki-psyc (talk) 18:04, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ancient Greek Hymns category

[edit]

I notice this category also contains Mesomedes. Do you have any suggestions as to ensure the hymns solely discussed on the pages of these individuals remain accessible through categories if they are not meant to be included in this kind of category? My pleasure, and thank you in return for your well-written contributions. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 14:56, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have been working on prehistoric UK articles: typically chambered cairns, old churches and assorted tombs. I noticed the "List of Oldest Buildings in Scotland" article. The lede looks like it needs a re-write. I am wondering if tombs should be included in a "list of buildings" or should they have their own article, given the definition of a building in the current lede? Should the List be re-named "List of Oldest Structures in Scotland"?

Who would be the best to decide that? An archaeologist, a senior editor like yourself who has contributed to the article? Lots of questions. No answers. I would love to get your opinion on the article and I can work on cleaning up dead links if needed. MauraWen (talk) 21:12, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalising "senate"

[edit]

Capitalisation of "senate" and "republic" is very inconsistent across Wikipedia articles. I don't really care one way or the other (though with a mild preference for "senate" because that is what most modern books -- that I have encountered -- on the topic use; see also this on-going discussion). Citing Roman Senate is not dispositive: "senate" outnumbers "Senate" in that article anyway (69 to 37 according to senate[\. ,] vs Senate[\. ,]). I'd just prefer that edits not introduce inconsistencies. Ifly6 (talk) 20:15, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really care either, but in the Roman Senate and Roman Republic articles the words "Senate" and "Republic" are capitalised. If this is inexact, then the two articles should be edited to reflect the correct capitalisation. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 20:53, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Both are "correct" capitalisations, in as much as "correct" is defined as "usage among at least a few classical studies scholars published within the last 30 years". That's why I'm advocating for within-article consistency. Ifly6 (talk) 21:46, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, in the Caesar's Civil War article there is (within-article) consistency now. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:15, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request for More Detailed Source - Funerary Scarabs

[edit]

I have been trying to verify a part of the Scarab (artifact) article. Under the section "Funerary Scarabs" in the last paragraph, you cite John Ward's book The Sacred Beetle: A Popular Treatise on Egyptian Scarabs in Art and History. Unfortunately, I cannot find this information anywhere in that book. Do you happen to know where in the book you got the information listed? EriktheFriendlyOperaGhost (talk) 02:00, 10 April 2022 (UTC)EriktheFriendlyOperaGhost[reply]

In the "Funerary scarabs" section I only italicised the Book of the Dead. It is User:Hadden who added that reference on 3 March 2016. As he is absent since November last year, I suggest you ask on the article's talk page and the Ancient Egypt experts may be able to answer. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 06:49, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Advice regarding update to Australian alternative investment firm article

[edit]

Dear @Cote d'Azur:,

I’m LizziePEP, an employee of Pacific Equity Partners, an Australian alternative investment firm. You can find out a little more about me and my COI/paid editor status at User:Lizzie PEP.

About four months ago, I submitted what I hope other editors will find to be an appropriate update to the Pacific Equity Partners article. It’s been some time since I submitted the request, and haven’t heard anything back from other editors regarding it.

I’ve been in touch with other notable Wiki editors with varying success. Some haven’t had the time or inclination to help, and others have provided useful feedback. At the request of editor DGG, I have also compiled a full revision of the article in a sandbox within my user space.

I notice you’ve been involved in article improvements in the past, and would like to enquire whether you have the time to look over my submission and provide feedback.

Thanks very much. Lizzie PEP (talk) 05:10, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Removing my photos from articles

[edit]

For years I have contributed to English Wikipedia with high resolution photos. They must have some encyclopedic value and good quality, because about 85 of them have been promoted here to featured picture status. Lately you started to revert my contributions (photos) from articles. Why are you doing that? Reverting should be done only when necessary. Do you consider my contributions as vandalism or other disruptive edit? Ivar (talk) 22:37, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with you replacing perfectly good pictures (in some cases "featured picture" and "picture of the day" [4]) with your own pictures which are not better. Your edits are not disruptive but they bring no improvement. —Cote d'Azur (talk) 12:39, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have to disagree with you on this one. I did not remove JJ-s featured picture from article, it's good and it's still there. But my photo has imo higher EV, because of huge resolution difference. And it has great potential to be promoted as FP.--Ivar (talk) 17:45, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Help: restoring stable versions and patrolling changes

[edit]

Good afternoon @Cote d'Azur. I'd seen you've reverted edits done by Livioandronico2013 and his socks among Wikipedia. In the last days, he used various IPs to edit Elizabetta Gonzaga's article to impose his photograph, altough there is in Commons better resolution versions, including one from the Uffizi's official website and which was the stable version until he reverted it with IPs 176.200.142.92 and 151.57.174.55. The article has been protected due to vandalism, so I cannot restore the stable version. Could you please restore it and patroll it during some time, and also patroll Guidobaldo da Montefeltro –another page vandalized by this LTA, altough not been protected yet–, which I also restored to its stable version recently? This list lets us see if any drafts are getting close to the 6-month danger date. Once an edit is made to an outline draft, the date for it in this list automatically updates.

I hope you find it useful.

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:21, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
