Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Draft:Conectys, and I noticed that your username, "Conectys", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Fiddle Faddle 14:45, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Conectys, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I don't know if you saw the comments before the article was deleted

  1. I don't believe the subject is notable. The article was rejected yesterday (13 October 2014) for not having an adequate number of sources. There has been no real change in the quality of the sources. Please note that multiple, independent, reliable, secondary sources are required to prove notability of this company. I can only assume that the creator of this article has only created this article for promotional purposes since their username is the same as the company name. Per WP:RELIABLE and WP:ORGIND I am rejecting this article. st170etalk 15:35, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  2. We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42
  3. We also require good prose, not lists of stuff Fiddle Faddle 14:44, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Most of the text was completely unreferenced
  • it's all about what the company sells, little about the company itself other than locations. Turnover? Profits? Has the company ever received negative publicity? Who are its competitors?
  • It's basically a series of lists about what the company sells, where it sells them from, and what languages it sells them in. Just spamming. Another editor tagged the article for speedy deletion, and I concurred.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • Your previous username should have led to an indefinite block as a violation of our username policies. I don't know why this didn't happen Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:16, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Text posted here. Please make an off-line copy, since it is still spam and can be deleted even on a user page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:01, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 15:11, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
