Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:
- If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in assigning those to your username.
- You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.
Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Angela. 23:48, Feb 3, 2004 (UTC)
List of star wars planets
[edit]On my computer, the list appears several times over in various lengths (scroll all the way through and look for the repeated Tables of Contents). If you don't see the same thing, I guess it's a problem with my browser -- and feel free to remove the cleanup message. -Joshuapaquin 20:45, May 20, 2005 (UTC)
I removed the speedy delete tag from this article as it does not explicitly meet any of the Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. You are free to nominate the article for WP:VFD in accordance with standard Wikipedia:Deletion policy, though. Cheers, --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 20:11, May 27, 2005 (UTC)
Speedy delete
[edit]When adding the speedy delete tag to articles, please do not blank the page while doing so. This makes it harder for the deleting admin, as they have to look at the page history to judge whether it's a speedy candidate or not. —Xezbeth 15:27, Jun 1, 2005 (UTC)
Autobot Clones
[edit]I reverted your edit to Autobot Clones. I don't think "Examples" is an appropriate section heading, because Fastlane and Cloudraker are the only Autobot Clones. "Examples" would imply there were more. — JIP | Talk 19:30, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Popular or Proper Names for Biographical Articles
[edit]Hey, you shouldn't move common name titles to full name titles, like Ed Rendell. Policy is to go with the common name. Everyking 14:40, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
What about Bill Clinton? Jimmy Carter? We have a well-established policy about using common names over full names. Now, if it's just a name people call you some of the time, but the full name is still relatively common, then it's another story. But in cases where the common name is virtually all people ever hear, you clearly go with the common name. Everyking 18:23, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Re: Trillian and AIM
[edit]The crippled Trillian Basic is free, Trillian Pro is not. Thus "Trillian" (meaning both versions) is not free. Supermarket smoked saussage is not free, even if you get a free sample. -T2X
I'm not looking for any specific features, I'm only looking for freedom, freedom not to be constrained by some company's proprietary software. I made the switch from AIM/Yahoo to Trillin myself, then I made the switch to the open source and unconstrained Gaim, and I haven't looked back. -T2X 20:23, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC)
Re:Attentiveness
[edit]Hi there,
Thanks for dropping a note and sorry for belated response. I am busy at work these days and unfortunately don't have much time for Wiki and for dealing with various sorts of vandals that are around.
As you know, I asked you to be more attentive in .az entry ([1]). The thing is that anon 65.148.152.168, which was one of the anon IPs used by previously banned vandal Rovoam, added totally unrelevant spurious edit in this entry ([2]). You overlooked the fact that this was a sneaky vandalism ([3]), because the content he added was spurious and totally irrelevant to that particular entry. But understandably, you believed that this was a good-faith edit. I could make a similar mistake too if I would deal with issue that I am not particularly well-informed about. In fact, he was adding that same spurious text everywhere starting from Azeri, which he vandalized many times, and ending with many other entries which even do not deal with Azerbaijan, (e.g. Ottoman Empire [4]).
So, that's besically it. Please, read the disclaimer on this vandal and you will get more understanding on him. He is still vandalizing various pages, such as Caucasus, Azerbaijan, Artsakh and many others. Many of these entries have been vprotected and unprotected already more than 5 times but his still vandalising and trying to tire me and other editors up. I believe, the only way for us to stop this person, is to stay united and determined. I ask you also to join me and many other editors in fighting his vandalism. Thanks in advance. --Tabib 13:26, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)
Bogus VfDs
[edit]There is no need to create the VfD page for a bogus VfD. Just ignore it, the fact that the original author of the article added the vfd tag is more than enough reason for delete the page. --cesarb 19:21, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Tony, I think the boxes I placed there were relevant and necessary for Tidewater plantation. It needs better wikification, a more expository tone, AND some kind of reference material. - CobaltBlueTony July 6, 2005 21:08 (UTC)
- I agree that it's an article that needs major attention. However it's still an interesting article (if unencyclopedic at present) and the boxes got in the way of the text. Popping any new boxes on the end would be a fairly unobtrusive way of adding them. One good idea for this article would be to add the article to Wikipedia:Pages needing attention. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 6 July 2005 21:33 (UTC)
JW pages
[edit]Tony, thanks for sharing your comments to Central with me. That guy/girl is way out of control! --DannyMuse 8 July 2005 06:38 (UTC)
Tony, I've contacted a WP advocate to try to bring some resolution to this situation with Central. You can read my request and his reply at: User_talk:Sam_Spade#Requesting_an_advocate. Among other things, he said we would need one other user besides myself who has experienced difficulty with this user, and has unsuccessfully asked them to make the needed improvements. He then recommended you. Please read these comments and let's discuss. Thanks. --DannyMuse 04:42, 21 July 2005 (UTC)
Hi! I reverted your explanation on the JW page. Don't get me wrong, the idea of a separate explanation was a great idea, but the explanation was already there (at the end of the first paragraph) so the article said the same thing twice. The current revision is ok in my opinion, but further discussion is pending. Thanks! 82.181.158.247 19:38, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

Two or three witnesses
[edit]Hi Colbaltbbluetony. I think I missed the start of this conversation. Did I say something about 2/3 witnesses not being required? I'm quite confused. ;) --K. AKA Konrad West TALK 23:51, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
Philadelphia Project
[edit]Hi i have noticed that you have edited several articles on subjects related to the Philadelphia area. Several other users and myself have got together to creak a project to help improve, expand, and create articles concerning the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley region. While our project is still new, we are inviting people to join us to help it get started off on the right foot. You can find the project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Philadelphia, feel free to add your name and drop off an suggestions that you might have. If you have any questions, drop me a line anytime. Thanks. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 04:19, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
Yahoo discussion group
[edit]Tony, message received. I'll try to call you later today. --DannyMuse 17:09, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
- BTW, I tried calling you today, but you were at work. I was given your work number but must've copied it down wrong. --DannyMuse 19:41, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
